Ran across this practical yet scriptural based approach to dealing with difficult people and situations - good advice: http://aleteia.org/2016/02/02/5-ways-jesus-dealt-with-difficult-people/
A great article, particularly for those of us who join discussion groups or forums. It's so easy to be uncharitable at times, when someone disagrees with one's perceptions. I've found that the best advice given in the article is to learn to walk away; one does not have to have the last word. At times discussions are so entrenched that it is no longer a discussion but a shouting match. Asking questions is also a very good tactic because it clarifies definitions and it allows you to better understand what the other person is thinking on the subject. Blessings to you, Miker, for sharing this article.
