I will be shutting the door on Easter in about three hours. The rest of the world has already celebrated. He Has Risen! On these closing hours may all my MOG friends be blessed with HIS presence. Brother al
I thought a lot about Our Lady greeting the Risen Christ What a roller coaster, from death to life. But it came to me that since she the one who most experienced the pain she was the one who most shared in the Glory. A lesson to us all
Yes Julia. I know what you mean. From Good Friday to the first vigil Mass on Holy iSaturday I have deep unease. I always feel a kind of light unseen break through when those time zones way ahead of us are celebrating the Vigil Mass. This year I had to be content with praying along with EWTN. Even for Easter Mass. Ian trying to get over a nasty flu that turned into pneumonia. Three weeks and counting. Sigh. Now my poor husband has it. Not as bad thank God but we spent Easter coughing and sneezing and all that sort of misery. I am gratefully offering it up. God knows I need to!! Spent a lot of yesterday in prayer so that was a very good thing. Happy Easter to all!! He is truly risen.
AED Sometimes the cross gets heavy I too have been ill I am sorry that you and your husband are walking through this illness and waiting for recovery Prayers going up I have surgery on May 2 Sinus I have been so full of antibiotics that I am longing for my healing Doesn't seem fair to us to be ill after Lent You both Get well soon
Thank you HH. It is a very small cross really. But I did hate to miss the Tridum and watch it on TV. But in a weird way it was a time of very intense prayer. My husband and I both feel much better today but are playing it safe and taking it easy. This bug is very tenacious. We thought we had gotten over it and circled back around. This is the story with a lot of people here who have had it. I am sorry to hear you must have surgery. I will keep you in my prayers for May 2. I had some major surgery in October and made the mistake of trying to do too much too quickly and tanked my immune system. I pass this along to say don't do what I did. Give yourself plenty of time to recover.
Sinuses are the worst!!! You have all my sympathy. I hope the surgery solves the problem. Prayers going up.
I have been a chronic sinusitis sufferer for over 20 years and had surgery 15 years ago in my opinion the surgery and antibiotics do not work, the only thing that works for sinus problems is regular nasal irrigation with saline water and I have had success with hayfever nasal sprays that contain beclomethasone,, Sinus problems can be totally debilitating and believe me you have my utmost sympathy, I also added turmeric and cayenne pepper to my diet, little sprinkles in all my cooking but make sure you get the spices from a good source not the usual bottle super market stuff..I have thankfully managed to keep my sinus problem under control with only a few bad flare ups usually caused by a flu or cold but after a couple of days with saline irrigation and hot towels placed on the forehead I bounce back.. I am not a doctor but I would seriously reconsider the surgery
Thanks for your input, Q. I am so glad that you are under control now with this ghastly illness. I did see my CT scan and I am not open in my airways on my right side of my face now so really do need the surgery. I actually had a whole year free of illness but now it is back. i do the irrigation and the allergy shots, and the nasal sprays. Just need the surgery right now. I am glad that you have found the solution for your illness. I might try the spices. DH can't digest spice so I can add to to my own I am also on prayer list and also include my intentions in some Masses I have said. Using all my ammunition!!! This has been going on for 35 years for me. Many a day the Lord has carried me. I feel like the woman with the hemhorrhage, if I could only touch the hem of His cloak.
Oh HH I am so sad to hear of this cross. Like you and Quis my sister has suffered for years and antibiotics have made her sick sometimes. Others don't work. The irrigation seems her best defense. I am putting you into my Rosaries right now both of you.
Thanks so much for your understanding attitude and prayers. I am probably your sister's long-lost sinus twin Sincerely appreciated
HH, I'll be praying for you. May the healing balm of the Holy Spirit encompass you! Let us know how surgery goes! Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
Oh dear I know how that feels sounds like you have developed a few nasal polyps which have led to the blockage, the surgery will at least relieve the blockage, be sure to ask your surgeon loads of questions regarding after care treatment, in my own experience the nasal polyps do come back, have you had this surgery before ?
Mario and Padraig and AED and Q, and all who are praying.....I am deeply grateful. Q, I have had a couple of sinus surgeries before but not this one. It is not a polyp, it is an obstruction in ethmoid...right side, for some reason, all the allergies and continuous congestion, now have obstruction, going to a VERY capable ENT and he has surgeries in his office, under light sedation. He actually called this a simple roto-rooter, just going into nasal cavity and opening it up. Sorry folks, if this is TMI. I will have follow-ups, three of them. Hoping and praying for some relief. My son will be there and take care of me. Thanks again, all of you. Heartwarming! Will surely let you know the outcome.
