Dear forum members, Here is an open letter to Pope Francis to preserve the usus antiquor (the Traditional Latin Mass) and in particular the Ecclesia Dei-societies. I have signed this. https://wdtprs.com/2022/01/action-i...er-to-preserve-the-latin-mass/#comment-632057
Signed. I have a story to share with you. Not this past Sunday but the previous Sunday, I watched a Novus Ordo mass that was celebrated by a priest originally from Poland. The mass was said at our diocesan cathedral, St. Agnes, and I was thankful that I noticed it on the Catholic Faith Network (CFN). I wasn't feeling well that day and I missed mass and even missed the mass held at that the parish I watched throughout the lock downs. Well, I decided to watch most of that mass also because it is posted online for awhile. I was a bit put off by the fact that during the sermon the pastor reprimanded traditional Catholics that do not believe that the Novus Ordo mass is a valid mass. What I have stated is not at all verbatim but close enough. I really like this pastor and I realize that none of us are perfect but I couldn't help but wonder if a memo went or something for him to make this statement or maybe he had a heated conversation with someone the prior week this was still on his mind idk. With that said, considering all that is going on with the TLM his comments caught me off guard. This priest has a devotion to Our Lady and all through the lock downs he celebrated mass "ad orientem", if anything I expected him to defend the TLM or at a minimum, not say anything about it at all. It's so sad that there is so much division in the world right now and so many people have the intention to shut down any opposing opinion to their own, often in the most extreme ways. I'm continuing to pray for peace; and faith, hope and charity also, of course. I'm praying for the preservation of the Traditional Latin Mass. Thank you for posting this https://preservethelatinmass.org/ . +
Wow, thank you to all who have signed this. I am grateful especially to those who attend the Novus Ordo Mass. Little acts of charity, according to St. Therese de Lisieux. The 'little way'. Makes a big difference in a world full of division. God bless!
