Sg, With all due respect, EWTN states that Our Lady asked for the consecration of Russia in 1929 and then Our Lord asked for the consecration of the world in 1938 and 1940. This is simply what EWTN has stated on their link and what EWTN states is the truth, not me.

    Fatima Consecration - Chronology
History of the Consecration and Related Events

July 13, 1917 Our Lady promises to "come and ask the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart"1
June 13, 1929 Our Lady fulfills her promise, asking "for the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart, promising its conversion through this means and the hindering of the propagation of its errors."2
date unknown Pius XI (1922-1939) informed of this request3
1938 Portuguese Bishops ask Pius XI for the Consecration of the World to the Immaculate Heart. It is said they were influenced to do this by the spiritual director of Bl. Alexandrina da Costa (1904-1955).
June 1940 Request made to Pius XII through the Bishop of Macau, and a little later through Father Gonzaga de Fonseca. Mention is made of Our Lady asking the Consecrating of Russia to the Immaculate Heart.
December 1940 Sr. Lucia writes letter to Pius XII, saying that Our Lord Himself requests the Pope to "consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, with a special mention for Russia, and order that all the Bishops of the world do the same in union with Your Holiness."4
October 31, 1942 Pope Pius XII consecrates the world to the Immaculate Heart.
July 7, 1952 Pope Pius XII consecrates the Russian people to the Immaculate Heart
November 21, 1964 Pope Paul VI renews, in the presence of the Fathers of the Vatican Council but without their participation, the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart.
May 13, 1982 Pope John Paul II invites the bishops of the world to join him in consecrating the world and with it Russia to the Immaculate Heart. Many do not receive the invitation in time for the Pope's trip to Fatima, where he accomplishes the consecration. Sr. Lucia later says it did not fulfill the conditions.
October 1983 Pope John Paul II, at the Synod of Bishops, renews the 1982 Consecration
March 25, 1984 Pope John Paul II, "united with all the pastors of the Church in a particular bond whereby we constitute a body and a college," consecrates "the whole world, especially the peoples for which by reason of their situation you have particular love and solicitude." Both the Pope and Sr. Lucia initially seemed uncertain that the consecration has been fulfilled, but shortly thereafter Sr. Lucia tells the papal nuncio to Portugal that the Consecration is fulfilled.

I am not arguing about any of this, I am just restating what ETWN has stated you can argue with them if you like.

My comment is that it does make sense to me. If Blessed Alexandrina da Costa was given the request from Our Lord to consecrate the world and if Our Lord asked for this to be done on a holyday for Our Lady and Pope Saint John Paul II did, in fact, perform the consecration on the Feast of the Annunciation in 1984, then it absolutely makes sense that this particular consecration was accepted by heaven. If that doesn't make sense to you that is up to you.

Do you have anything to add to the discussion regarding Blessed Alexandrina da Costa's visions and/or locutions?

Carol, you have disregarded this post:
You also disregard the fact that Fr Amorth testified about JPII's failure to consecrate Russia.

What you quoted from EWTN actually contradicts your statement above:

The consecration of Russia will be done, but it will be late.

I do feel that something was up with dear Sister Lucia. Even as a child when i saw pictures of her during that time, i would say to my mom that they did not look like the same person. But the realization of that also points to Our Church officials doing this to avoid talking about the severity of the 3rd secret. Lucia was usually very stern looking and serioud in her love of God but the other Lucy ran around saying nothing to see here, all is well. Not to go off topic but i feel i had to add my opinion on this.

Sg, I didn't disregard anything and the EWTN link does not contradict my statement. I am not sure that you understand what I have stated.

My focus has been on the seer Blessed Alexandrina da Costa throughout this discussion and the request that she was given from Our Lord which was to ask the pope to consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary annually. Sister Lucia may have also been asked for "a special mention for Russia" from Our Lord or this may have been something that she added because of the original request from Our Lady in 1929 but since I don't believe that there was a fake Sister Lucia and I believe that the real Sister Lucia said that the March 25, 1984 consecration fulfilled Our Lord's request I am simply reflecting back on the locution which Blessed Alexandrina da Costa had with Jesus.

But with that said, I do believe that a future pope will consecrate Russia (and the world) to The Immaculate Heart of Mary and will order that all the bishops of the world to do the same. Imo the prophecies of Our Lady of Fatima are not over yet and what I have stated above in regard to Blessed Alexandrina da Costa helps prove that they are not since she stated that the consecration of the world should be done yearly.

In addition since at this time there is no sure evidence that there was a fake Sister Lucia, I am wondering why you have seemed to eliminate the locutions of Blessed Alexandrina da Costa? I am asking a sincere question here, if you have reason to not consider this seer's locutions please share them with us. I also wonder why her possible link to Our Lady of Fatima has not been discussed more widely. This is the focus of the discussion, do you understand?

Please PM me if you are still confused.

    Edited to add:
I also posed the question to anyone who is extremely well versed on Our Lady of Fatima's prophecies if the consecration of Russia (or the world) was ever requested to be done on a holyday of Our Lady? Iow, was the reason that Pope Saint John Paul II performed the consecration on March 25, 1984 a coincidence? or was this a requirement that was presented to him by Sister Lucia? or was JPII possibly meeting this requirement that was given by Our Lord to Bl. Alexandrina da Costa?

PS- Just for thoroughness, I want to remind those reading this that the Soviet Union was in place in 1984 and not Russia.

One thing that must have been true; poor Sister Lucia's heart must have been bursting. To know so much and to be allowed to say so little, must have taken great patience, humility, strength, and self-control. I would never have been able to keep my mouth shut. It does seem as though she had a kind of gag order placed on her.

The only stipulations I have ever heard mentioned were that Russia was to be consecrated by the Pope in union with all of the bishops of the world on one day. I've never heard any further instructions given by Sister Lucy such as it having to be on a Holy Day or anything like that.

The 1984 consecration did not name Russia and did not have the participation of all of the world's bishops.

Was it accepted? I don't know.

My personal opinion is that it was a good try so it bore some fruit, but I think it still needs to be done properly.

I haven't had the chance yet to read those links, but I have saved them for when I have more time. I'm afraid it looks like it will be next week before I have that much time.

I came across an interview with the former Bishop of Moscow who said that when he told her who he was and that statues of Our Lady of Fatima were being placed churches in the former Soviet Union, Sr. Lucia smiled and said something about the triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart. He may also have said something about consecration of the world being appropriate because Russia's errors had already been spread. Sorry I can't recall the details. I think the interview may have been in the Catholic Herald. He was friends with Sr. Lucia's cousin who was a priest. I think her relatives would have smelled a rat if the real Sr. Lucia had been replaced. There was nothing in the interview about doing the consecration on a feast day or of a requirement for it to be an annual event. My memory isn't great and I get mixed up will all the different reports, but I vaguely remember something about Pope John Paul having included Russia although quietly, perhaps under his breath. I don't know whether I read that in the same interview.

St. John Paul had such a devotion to Our Lady that it would have come naturally to him to choose a day linked to Our Lady to do the consecration. Then again, perhaps someone in the Vatican had heard about the other seer and made that suggestion to him. I'm inclined to believe that the fall of the Soviet Union was Heaven's reward for the consecration and that the conversion of Russia and the period of world peace won't happen until there have been enough Five Saturdays and rosaries in reparation by the faithful. We might have to wait a very long time for that to happen.

I agree that we do not have the full participation of the laity in this. We have already discussed that we get the leaders we DESERVE. Collectively.
And I agree with you, Sr. Lucia’s family would have smelled a rat. Some of them are still alive. The order of sisters would have smelled a rat, also.

It is very clear to me that our Lady requested specifically for the consecration of Russia; not the world.
According to Fr Gabriel Amorth who organised the 1984 consecration, and was within arm's length of Pope JPII at the consecration, JPII had wanted to mention Russia, but was forbidden to do so by his advisors.
I believe Fr Amorth. His video testimony was shown in the new documentary, 'The Vatican Deception'.

The following article is a good summary:

    Chronology of Four Cover-up Campaigns:

    Consecration of Russia Disinformation
    Consecration and Conversion
In the third of Her six apparitions at Fatima, on July 13, 1917, the Blessed Virgin told the three shepherd children that She would return later to ask for the consecration of Russia to Her Immaculate Heart. Our Lady emphasized the importance of this request, which was accompanied by a dire warning:

    • If My requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated. In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.
These are the words of the Mother of God, as recounted by Sr. Lucia in her memoirs about the apparitions, first published in the 1940s.

    The Request is Made
In June of 1929, Our Lady appeared to Sr. Lucia in her convent in Tuy, Spain. As promised, the Blessed Virgin requested the consecration she had mentioned 12 years earlier at Fatima. Our Lady’s words were recorded in Sr. Lucia’s memoirs:

    • The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father, in union with all the Bishops of the world, to make the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means. There are so many souls whom the Justice of God condemns for sins committed against Me, that I have come to ask reparation: sacrifice yourself for this intention and pray.
    Our Lord Adds a Warning
Two years later, in the summer of 1931, the urgency of the request was underlined by another visit. This time, Our Lord Himself spoke to Sr. Lucia, and gave her a warning about the consecration of Russia:

    • Make it known to My ministers given that they follow the example of the King of France in delaying the execution of My command, like him they will follow him into misfortune.
This was a reference to Louis XVI, who failed to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and was later overthrown in the French Revolution and beheaded in 1793.

    Sr. Lucia Urges Action
Early in 1935, Sr. Lucia wrote to her confessor, Father Bernardo Goncalves, to answer some questions he had about the consecration of Russia: "Regarding the matter of Russia, I think it would please Our Lord very much if you worked to make the Holy Father comply with His wishes ... I think that it should be exactly as Our Lord asked it …" Clearly, the consecration was a matter of some urgency to Sr. Lucia, but there was little indication of any response from the Church hierarchy.

    Another Warning
In the spring of 1936, Our Lord told Sr. Lucia that the conversion of Russia would only occur when it was solemnly and publicly consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Pope, together with all the world’s bishops. Our Lady came to tell Sr. Lucia that unless "that poor nation" was consecrated as requested, Russia would become the instrument of world chastisement.

A Consecration — But Not As Requested
In October of 1942, with World War II at its height, Pope Pius XII performed a consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He made no mention of Russia, nor did any of the world’s bishops participate in the ceremony. The following spring, as the war continued, Our Lord told Sr. Lucia that world peace would not result from the Pope’s consecration, but the war would be shortened.

    Request Unsatisfied: Sr. Lucia
On July 15, 1946, Sr. Lucia answered some questions from Professor William T. Walsh of New York, regarding the consecration. He is author of the most popular book on Fatima. She pointed out that Our Lady did not ask for the consecration of the world, but specifically and only Russia. The Pope’s consecration in 1942 therefore failed to satisfy Our Lady’s request.

    Another Inadequate Consecration
In mid-1952, with the Korean War raging, Pope Pius XII performed another consecration. In this case, he specifically mentioned Russia, but did not ask any of the world’s Catholic bishops to join him in the ceremony. Without their participation, the consecration still failed to satisfy Our Lady’s request.

    A New Obstacle Arises
A decade later, in the fall of 1962, the opening of the Second Vatican Council created a new obstacle to performing the consecration. To obtain Moscow’s approval for two observers from the Russian Orthodox Church to attend, the Vatican formally agreed not to condemn Soviet Russia or communism in general at the Council. This decision launched the policy of "Ostpolitik," under which the Vatican was constrained from opposing communism by name, or condemning communist regimes that persecuted Catholics. Instead, the Church was supposed to engage in dialogue and negotiations with these governments. This policy was a radical departure from the Church’s long-standing opposition to atheistic communism and its repressive treatment of Catholics within the Soviet bloc. For most of the next two decades, the issue of the consecration was pushed into the background, and disappeared from the Vatican’s agenda.

    A Petition Ignored
In the late 70s, Cardinal Josyf Slipyj launched a public petition seeking the consecration of Russia, as requested by Our Lady of Fatima. In only three years, the petition garnered over three million signatures. This massive appeal from the faithful was delivered to the Vatican in 1980. It was ignored, and no action was taken.

    Another Consecration Omits Russia
While still recovering from wounds inflicted in a failed assassination attempt, Pope John Paul II performed another consecration to the Immaculate Heart in June of 1981. However, the official wording referred to the world, without mentioning Russia specifically, and all the world’s bishops were not asked to participate. This consecration thus failed once again to satisfy Our Lady’s request, even though the Pope credited Our Lady of Fatima with saving him from the assassin’s attack.

    Sr. Lucia Speaks Again
A year later, in May of 1982, the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano published an article about Sr. Lucia by Father Umberto Maria Pasquale, a Salesian priest who had known her since 1939. Fr. Pasquale reported that Sr. Lucia told him emphatically that Our Lady had never asked for the consecration of the world, but only of Russia. He also published a photographic reproduction of a handwritten note to him from Sr. Lucia confirming this point.

    The Pope Makes an Admission
The day after this article appeared, Pope John Paul II visited Fatima, where he again consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. A few days later, in an article in L’Osservatore Romano, the Pope explained why he had failed to mention Russia specifically, saying he had "tried to do everything possible in the concrete circumstances." This was widely interpreted to mean that he could not violate the terms of the Vatican’s continuing policy of appeasing Russia.

Our Lady Still "Awaiting Our Consecration"
Two years later, this evasive approach was taken again when the Holy Father once more consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in a ceremony before 250,000 people in Rome in March of 1984. But this time, the Pope made his position clearer. In a departure from his prepared text, he asked Our Lady of Fatima to "enlighten especially the peoples of which You Yourself are awaiting our consecration and confiding." The Pope thus publicly acknowledged that the consecration requested by Our Lady had still not been performed. These words were included in an official report of the event in L’Osservatore Romano on March 26, 1984. A similar report appeared the next day in the Italian bishops’ newspaper Avvenire, describing the Pope praying in St. Peter’s several hours after the consecration ceremony, asking Our Lady to bless "those peoples for whom You Yourself are awaiting our act of consecration and entrusting."

    A Fatima Scholar Speaks
    Also in 1984
, Father Messias Coelho, a Fatima scholar of many years, publicly insisted that the requested consecration had still not been done. Five years later, Fr. Coelho was to reveal that Vatican officials had issued instructions to Sr. Lucia and others to contradict this statement, and claim the consecration had actually been done.

A Cardinal Agrees With Sr. Lucia
In September of 1985, in an interview in Sol de Fatima magazine (published by the Blue Army in Spain), Sr. Lucia confirmed that the consecration still had not been done, because the 1984 ceremony did not mention Russia, and the world’s Catholic bishops did not participate. Later in the year, Cardinal Edouard Gagnon acknowledged in another interview that the consecration had still not been done as requested. He later objected to having his remarks published, though he did not deny making them.

    Confirmation From a Cousin
For many years, Sr. Lucia’s cousin, Maria do Fetal, publicly quoted Sr. Lucia as saying the consecration had not been done. Maria do Fetal continued to maintain this position until mid-1989, when she suddenly reversed herself, in accordance with the Vatican "instruction" revealed by Fr. Coelho.

    More Confirmation from Cardinals
In a brief interview outside her convent while voting in an election in the summer of 1987, Sr. Lucia confirmed to journalist Enrico Romero that the consecration had not been done. Her view was confirmed a few months later by Cardinal Paul Augustin Mayer in an audience with a dozen Catholic leaders, among them the Catholic journalist Victor Kulanday, and again by Cardinal Alfons Stickler a month after that. Cardinal Stickler maintained that the Pope had failed to perform the ceremony as requested because he lacked the necessary support from the world’s bishops. "They do not obey him," he explained.

    Bishops Raise Voices
Since the Vatican had ignored petitions with more than three million signatures of lay persons, Fr. Nicholas Gruner, the "Fatima Priest," turned to a much smaller but much more influential group. In 1989, he obtained written confirmation from 350 Catholic bishops of their willingness to perform the requested consecration of Russia specifically. In the same year, petitions bearing another million signatures of the faithful calling for the consecration were also delivered to Rome.

    Enforcing the Party Line
In the summer of 1989 at the Hotel Solar da Marta in Fatima, Sr. Lucia’s longtime friend Fr. Coelho made a surprising disclosure. He told several witnesses that Sr. Lucia and her fellow religious had received instructions from the Vatican to say that the Fatima request had been satisfied by the consecration performed in 1984. In evident obedience, Sr. Lucia’s cousin Maria do Fetal suddenly repudiated her previous statements, and claimed the consecration had been done. This claim flatly contradicted the Pope’s own comments made in his prayers both during and after the 1984 ceremony.

Maria do Fetal now showed how unreliable she was as a witness when, in obedience to the Party Line, she claimed she "was inventing" when she reported that Sr. Lucia had said the 1984 consecration did not satisfy Our Lady’s request.

    An Opportunity Missed
After another decade of inaction, the Vatican prepared once again to perform a consecration. With over 76 Cardinals and 1,400 bishops gathered in Rome for "the Jubilee of Bishops" in October of 2000, a golden opportunity to perform the ceremony as requested presented itself. Some bishops actually believed the long-awaited event would finally take place, but they were doomed to disappointment. When the text of the consecration was released the day before the ceremony, it made no mention of Russia whatsoever but contained only an "entrustment" of various groups of people, including the unemployed and "youth in search of meaning."

    "Ostpolitik" Confirmed
A month later, Inside the Vatican magazine reported that a Cardinal said to be "one of the Pope’s closest advisors" admitted that the Holy Father had been advised not to mention Russia, for fear of offending the Russian Orthodox Church. This provided high-level confirmation that the Vatican’s "Ostpolitik" and "Ecumenism" were indeed preventing the specific consecration of Russia.

    No Conversion in Sight
If the consecration was performed in 1984 as some Vatican officials claim, then the promised conversion of Russia should surely be evident by now. No such evidence has appeared. Instead, there are now two abortions for every live birth in Russia, and the Catholic Church is still hemmed in by impossible legal restrictions. Catholic bishops and priests are not even permitted to become permanent residents, and can only visit that country for three months at a time. And, over the past several years, Russian President Vladimir Putin has erected a veritable neo-Stalinist authoritarian state in Russia — silencing all major media and hobbling his major political opponents with criminal investigations and indictments. New York Times columnist William Safire calls this "Putin’s creeping coup". At the same time, Russia is developing a whole new generation of nuclear missiles, which Putin promises will be unstoppable by any missile defense.

As The Washington Post observed in late 2003: "We must now recognize that there has been a massive suppression of human rights and the imposition of a de facto Cold War-type administration in Moscow." In a recent statement to Congress, Republican congressman Christopher Cox told the truth that Fr. Fox never reports in his "don’t worry, be happy" magazine: "Russia does not enjoy an open, competitive political system that protects freedom of expression and association, and its government does not uphold universal standards of human rights." Russian analyst Nikolai Zlobin of the Center for Defense Information put it most simply: "We’re fighting a kind of new Cold War."

Clearly, Russia is continuing to "spread her errors throughout the world" as Our Lady of Fatima predicted. Those who claim that the consecration was done nearly two decades ago must therefore explain how it has failed to produce the results the Mother of God promised. Has Our Lady failed? Or has the Vatican failed to respect Her wishes? These are questions millions of Catholics are still asking, despite decades of official maneuvers and manipulations aimed at evading the issue. Pope John Paul II has publicly declared that the Message of Fatima "imposes an obligation on the Church." So far, the Church has failed to fulfill that obligation, and the whole world is suffering the consequences.

The Fatima apparitions and messages are approved and well established.
Definitely proven to be true by the greatest predicted miracle (down to the place, day and time) the world has ever known.
Focusing on the Fatima message alone would be wise.
I don't feel a necessity to add other locutions in.

As far as I know, nothing of that sort has been mentioned in any of the accounts of the Fatima apparitions/locutions.
Is it not because Catholics, in general, tend to perform important actions on Holy Days of significance?

Chief Exorcist Father Amorth: Padre Pio Knew The Third Secret

    Father Gabriele Amorth

In a recent article on the Secret of Fatima, Steve Skojec, the founder and editor of OnePeterFive, published, to my knowledge, for the first time in the English language words from Rome’s chief exorcist, Father Gabriele Amorth (d. 2016), about Padre Pio and his knowledge of the Third Secret of Fatima. They come from a newly published book written by José María Zavala, entitled The Best Kept Secret of Fatima (El Sécreto Mejor Guardado de Fátima). OnePeterFive‘s contributor, Mr. Andrew Guernsey, was very helpful in finding these quotes. Since Mr. Skojec’s own article is somewhat lengthy, many readers may not have realized the importance of this interview with Father Amorth, which was only to be published after the priest’s death. In the following, I shall quote extensively from Steve’s own post which first speaks about Father Amorth’s own conviction that the specific Consecration of Russia has not yet taken place, and then enters into the larger discussion about Fatima:

It [a piece of the Fatima puzzle] came in the form of an interview with the very famous (and now deceased) Roman exorcist, Fr. Gabriel Amorth, also conducted by José María Zavala. Fr. Amorth personally knew Saint (Padre) Pio for 26 years, and it is from this towering figure of 20th century Catholic sanctity that he claims to have learned the contents of the Third Secret of Fatima.

Fr. Amorth was interviewed by Zavala in 2011, who kept the interview secret until after the exorcist’s death, publishing it for the first time in his book about Fatima. In the interview, Fr. Amorth relates — as he has done elsewhere — that he does not believe the consecration of the world by Pope John Paul II in 1984 was sufficient to satisfy the requirements set forth by Our Lady.

“There was no such consecration then,” he [Father Amorth] says. “I witnessed the act. I was in St. Peter’s Square that Sunday afternoon, very close to the Pope; so close, I could almost touch him.”

Pressed by Zavala as to why he so forcefully believes that the consecration was not done, Fr. Amorth replied: “Very simple: John Paul II wanted to mention Russia expressly, but in the end he did not.”

Zavala pressed the issue with Fr. Amorth, saying that Sister Lucia herself (as mentioned above) had said that Heaven had accepted the consecration. He describes an incredulous reaction from Fr. Amorth. “Lucia said that…?” He asked. Zavala continues:

“Well, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone said it, in the year 2000, hiding behind a letter [escudándose en una carta] from Lucia dated November 1989, in which she stated that Heaven had admitted consecration in spite of one of the most important conditions.

“Have you seen that letter?” He asks, as if conducting a police interrogation in search of evidence.

    “Never,” I say flatly.

“I do not think you’ll ever see it, because I’m convinced that Lucia did not write it.”

“How are you so sure of that?”

“Why didn’t Bertone show it when he should have, when he announced the Third Secret of Fatima? A simple photocopy of the manuscript, included in the official dossier of the Vatican, would have been sufficient to dispel any doubt. If the Vatican has always been scrupulous in providing the documentary proof that authenticated the information by Lucia on minor matters, what reason would they have to skimp on the only documentary evidence that, according to Bertone, validated a fact that without doubt was of as much importance as the consecration performed by John Paul II?

    “Yes, it’s weird,” I admit.

“You really think Lucia took five years to write that the consecration had been truly accepted? And that Bertone waited no less than sixteen years to announce the validity of something so crucial as the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary?” Father Amorth’s voice sounds like dry leaves.

“It’s all very strange, in truth.” I [Zavala] nod again.

“Moreover,” he adds, “if the consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary made by Pius XII in 1942 was only partially accepted [because he did not specifically mention Russia – ed], for Jesus said that in view of it the war would only be shortened rather than finished immediately, why would He now change his mind with John Paul II, if Russia was not mentioned on this occasion?”

“It would be an incongruity, yes.”

    “Rather.”

    “So…?”

“I have no doubt that the consecration did not occur on the terms required by the Virgin. But we must not lose sight of what she herself wanted to tell us through Lucia: ‘In the end My Heart Immaculate will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me and it will become [come to be], [thereby] granting itself to the world a time of peace’…”

The interview digresses here from the topic of Fatima, but Zavala returns to it again later:

Forgive me for insisting on the Third Secret of Fatima: Did Padre Pio relate it, then, to the loss of faith within the Church?”

Fr. Gabriele furrows his brow and sticks out his chin. He seems very affected.

“Indeed,” he states, “One day Padre Pio said to me very sorrowfully: ‘You know, Gabriele? It is Satan who has been introduced into the bosom of the Church and within a very short time will come to rule a false Church.’”

“Oh my God! Some kind of Antichrist! When did he prophesy this to you?” I [Zavala] ask.

“It must have been about 1960, since I was already a priest then.”

“Was that why John XXIII had such a panic about publishing the Third Secret of Fatima, so that the people wouldn’t think that he was the anti-pope or whatever it was …?”

A slight but knowing smile curls the lips of Father Amorth.

Did Padre Pio say anything else to you about future catastrophes: earthquakes, floods, wars, epidemics, hunger …? Did he allude to the same plagues prophesied in the Holy Scriptures?” [asks Mr. Zavala]

Nothing of the sort mattered to him, however terrifying they proved to be, except for the great apostasy within the Church. This was the issue that really tormented him and for which he prayed and offered a great part of his suffering, crucified out of love.” [says Fr. Amorth]

    The Third Secret of Fatima?”

    Exactly.

“Is there any way to avoid something so terrible, Fr. Gabriele?”

There is hope, but it’s useless if it’s not accompanied by works. Let us begin by consecrating Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, let us recite the Holy Rosary, let us all do prayer and penance …” [emphasis added]

Thus ends Steve Skojec’s own presentation of certain passages of the new Zavala book on Fatima.

Father Amorth is a witness here to what Padre Pio – whom he first met when he himself was a seventeen-year-old young man – told him directly and personally. Father Amorth states in that same interview that Padre Pio even let him sometimes read his own spiritual diary.

As we reported earlier, Father Amorth had also already stated during his lifetime that he did not believe that the Consecration of Russia has taken place (a statement which was just confirmed by Cardinal Paul Josef Cordes). In December of 2015, Father Amorth had said:

The Consecration has not yet been made. I was there on March 25 [1984] in St. Peter’s Square, I was in the front row, practically within touching distance of the Holy Father. [Pope] John Paul II wanted to consecrate Russia, but his entourage did not
, fearing that the Orthodox would be antagonized, and they almost thwarted him. Therefore, when His Holiness consecrated the world on his knees, he added a sentence not included in the distributed version that instead said to consecrate “especially those nations of which you yourself have asked for their consecration.” So, indirectly, this included Russia. However, a specific consecration has not yet been made. You can always do it. Indeed, it will certainly be done…

As with other spiritual sons of Padre Pio – Dr. Ingo Dollinger and Father Luigi Villa, for example – it seems that Padre Pio is still effectively with us, working through those whom he met and guided while still on earth. It seems to be part of his legacy to help us in these difficult times. Let us then pray to Padre Pio of Pietrelcina and ask for his intercession!

    So here is the key:

"Our Lady came to tell Sr. Lucia that unless "that poor nation" was consecrated as requested, Russia would become the instrument of world chastisement."

The above statement shows the conditional nature of the request. Producing an either/or scenario. Either Russia is consecrated or we will suffer a Chastisement at it's hands.

If the consecration was done properly then Russia will not become the instrument for delivering God's punishment.

If the consecration was not done properly then it will.

So if Russia becomes belligerent and starts a war with the West then we could presume that the consecration was not done sufficiently well.

And we could presume from the articles that were recently posted that Sr. Lucia was still alive.

I'm not sure to which articles you refer. For Lucia to still be alive would require her to be over 110 yrs. old!

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

Reference to the articles posted by Sg just prior to this, on this same thread. She is saying that there was a fake Sr. Lucia (in some other threads) but the articles she posted just prior to now are all from outside sources quoting Sr. Lucia throughout the 1900's. I am denouncing the claim that there was a fake Sr. Lucia.
