Interesting topic...chaff and wheat. Those are the two extremes in clerical politics. They are the loudest. Seems that some priest have turned so dark they can’t hide anymore. Some very holy priests have had to enter the spiritual debates. Even though they preach the gift of silence. The real issue is that the everyday parish priests are trying to stay neutral. That is why we haven’t seen a real push. But i will say..,their are some real evil priests, who are or have tried to destroy church. They walk together as one. Evil is being brought into open. Thats a blessing but it also opens a can of worms. Sad part is...everyone will have to choose sides pretty soon. And the time clock is running in overtime.
A few good priests are speaking out. The rest are not for three reasons IMO. 1) Lack of knowledge 2) Fear 3) clueless what the prophets are saying
Their is a perennial teaching of Catholicism that when the very good turn bad they wind up much worse than the rest So a bad priest would be much, much more wicked than most lay people. A bad Bishop would be ten time worse than a bad priest. A bad Pope like a devil incarnate and so on. My own impression is that many priests and lay people simply fritter away their souls by simply not bothering to pray. They wind up evil and food for hell in a kind of gentle, just not bothering kind of way . They kind of sleep walk their way to hell. Nevertheless an evil priest or nun is very, very much to be feared and avoided There is no such thing as a bad one, a priest or nun who walks the Road to hell is, by definition, very, very evil
This is were the Bishops went wrong with child abusing priests. Their eyes were never open to the fact that concrete evil is a reality
Generally speaking though, my guess would be that most of our Popes were saints, really. But we did go through a period of atrocious Popes
As the clergy goes, so goes the laity. Few good/holy clergy, few good/holy laity. Priests/Bishops and Pope bring what they have vested themselves in and speak loudly to it. If they are social justice minded they believe this is how salvation is won and they preach endlessly to this. The laity like lap dogs by into this, because this form of relativism is easy to accept as the only necessary means of salvation. Who needs Church if God is in the plants and the trees and the bees? As long as they believe in a god, so long as they are environmentally conscience, social justice oriented and civil duties first, then that is all that is essential to gain heaven. How many priests and hierarchy do as our lady of Fatima said, and pray the rosary daily? I can count on one hand how many I have heard say this that I have known. I have heard thousands upon thousands of social justice homilies and hardly at all one on the Eucharist or our Blessed Mother. This is the work of the devil. His time is now. He thinks his victory is now and why not? Look around. Where is the holy clergy and laity? So very few to be found. It would be hopeless, if not for our Blessed Mother's messages and God's prophets bringing us clarity and hope. So, here we are at the crossroads of salvation history. The time that St. Louis DeMontfort said that saints of these end times would out shine the others throughout history like the cedars of Lebanon overshadow the shrubs. The final battle before the era of peace is upon us. It's our time!
Reading reports of the life and works of the great Modern Marian Prophet of our age St Louis De Montfort in the Vendee, one thing stands out and that is that is that he was regarded as an eccentric or nut. As regards the Cure Ars he also was regarded as at least strange or odd and St Benedict Joseph Labreas out and out mad. The same.e with Padre Pio who faced perpetual accusations of being unbalanced. Jesus being accused of being unhinged is a given. I think any Catholic who still is to the authentic teaching of the Chuch may be considered as a candidate for a strait jacket With the coming of the virus this has become a thousand times worse with atrocities like BLM movement. Jesus said be as innocent as a dove but shrewd as a serpent. I know at work, for instance, if my views on a wide spectrum of issues such as LGBTQ were known I might face immediate dismissal. I fi d this encouraging. For it the Godless spirit of the world that has gone nuts, not we Catholics
