There is a climate scientist quietly working away at the University of Northumberland, studying (declining) sun-spot activity. She predicts that the sun is heading into a cyclical period of reduced activity which is inevitably going to lead to a period of cooling as existed around the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. This will be bad enough, but is likely to be exacerbated by artificial attempts to 'reduce warming'. I have a vague memory of reading somewhere a few years ago that there is, hidden away somewhere in the Vatican, a prophesy of Our Lady of Lourdes that science will become discredited and despised by the people. A mini-ice-age in the near future with its attendant starvation, cold and collossal mortality rate (far in excess of anything caused by a warming of the planet) would certainly cause such a reaction.
There are plenty of reputable Catholic scientists who could have been there in place of Ehrlich. I almost puked when he said that he was considering becoming vegetarian because animal feel pain. This from the man who promotes the slaughter of babies in the womb. He's an abomination and shouldn't be permitted on any Catholic Church property never mind given a platform that would in any way lend him respectability. Would Jesus, St. Peter or any of the Apostles have promoted Caesar as a moral authority? The President of the academy, a Protestant, welcomed everyone to "our" building. Somebody needs to remind the President that the Vatican belongs to Catholics and not him or his non-Catholic colleagues.
From memory I think the prophecy that you are referring to was proven to be fake..link below http://www.spiritdaily.net/bernadettefalsesecret.htm
Thanks for that. I had taken it to be genuine. The intriguing thing about the fake prophesy is that the first paragraph is not only more plausible, but seems written in a much more authentic style. Regardless of whether or not the 'prophesy' is genuine, science seems to be morphing into an amoral scientism and may well fall into contempt. Many, if not most, papers submitted to eminent scientific journals are regarded to be bogus and science as an institution seems to have become greatly corrupted by careerism and easily available public grant aid.
I'm still in shock after watching this video of one of the discussions at the conference, although at this stage nothing should shock me about the Vatican. The need for population control is treated as a given. In one part of the video, Archbishop Sorondo seems to imply that Catholic teaching permits governments to determine the birth rate, although I could be mistaken on that because his English is poor and he's hard to understand. What wasn't difficult to understand was his shock that the people from Arizona weren't blaming climate change for damage to biodiversity. He actually challenged them for not blaming climate change because the Pope had blamed it in Laudate Si. When the person who had presented the paper confirmed that climate change isn't the prime cause, he turned on Paul Raven and accused him of convincing them that it was the cause. Watching the Archbishop, I got the distinct impression that it's Paul Raven who is running the show. He and Dasgupta. If you watch no other video, I urge you to watch this to see what is driving the Vatican's rush to abandon 2000 years of Church teaching on the right to life. Having now watched a few of these videos, it's clear that there is nothing remotely Catholic about the Pontifical Academies hosting this conference and that the only Catholic aspect to the workshop was the building where it was held. The scientists also make it very clear that the Vatican is being used to give them some kind of moral authority.
Thank you, Dolours, for bringing this to our attention. One cannot deny the events taking place on Vatican grounds with proof like this.
