I guess you can call me pre Vatican 2 in my thinking—sort of. I believe in the Rosary and Adoration which we have access to every day if we wish and mass every evening and confession almost every day before mass. I am lazy about daily mass and have to brush up.

I've been trying to ditch the mindset of pre or post VII and think in terms of Catholic or not Catholic. What could be more Catholic than Adoration or praying the Rosary! They keep saying we can't go back, and really, that's true. But if God is outside of time, what we can do is move closer to Him. And I believe Our Lady is working very hard to gently steer us, not back in time, but closer to Him. just my own opinion though.

Rory Rory, I'm truly sorry if this caused any offence; that was never the intention :notworthy:

Didn't Father Malachi Martin describe how difficult it was for any pope to exert his will? The Vatican civil service would put the 'Yes Minister' crowd to shame, apparently. Not unlike the Deep State who frustrated the wishes of Donald Trump. It seems to be different with the present occupant of the office.

Not at all. So don’t even worry. Mons. Coady’s mother brought up Father Jimmy because I think his mother died- maybe in childbirth. She already had about 10 children . They were good holy people . We did get Coops and Credit Unions but I hope they didn’t mean for it to become what it is now.
I went to St. F.X. In the 60’s met wonderful friends and went to mass often.
My daughter went in 2000 and became a nurse. They were not taught Catholic values- all secular I guess. A big change from when I went.
So don’t worry at all. I was just wondering if they were aware it could become like it is today. I often think about that.
