I too fear suffering despite so many rounds of it and despite the learning that comes through pain each time. Nonetheless, Joe, I agree that we must cross many Jordans in order to reach the other side. There is no rose-strewn path that leads to heaven. Incidentally, a word that has been returning to me in recent days is - Drink of the cup. I wonder what is in store now, what lies beyond the bend. I just pray and hope I will go to do His will more obediently and serenely than I usually do.
Thank you, Seagrace. There are times when I listen attentively to the words of Consecration: Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my Blood, the Blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. I then ask of the Lord, "Make me willing, if need be, to pour out my blood for Your sake and the sake of others." Of course that is only on my brave days.
Padraig just posted a wonderful video from Ralph Martin which includes a talk from Msgr Charles Pope about this very topic. It’s not too long. It’s on the thread about the mystery of the Purification. So that the thoughts of many may be laid bare.
We have the synod in October. The Pope will be in Russia just before that. Time is short. Go to Confession weekly if possible, Mass daily. Spend at least a half an hour in mental prayer. Make as many sacrifices as possible. Fast if you are able.....Put on "sackcloth and ashes" now.
I certainly would not go making any long term plans. Time to concentrate on God and the things of God. We certainly know neither the day nor the hour. But it cheers me up to know they will have something else to think about more than if a man can get pregnant and have periods or not. I have had just about all I can take of it. Better to be taken away from it all. A bit of peace and quiet for a change. No more nuts and nuttery talk, it is driving me crazy. A Global Lunatic Asylum.
We do not know If pope will be in russia yet. That is pure speculation it's not a done deal. Far from it.
I thought the Pope's plane will be in Russia for refueling, and only a meeting with Krill is in doubt. Correct me if I am incorrect. The Garabandal prophecy says only that he will travel to Moscow....not that he does anything specific there. There is a great deal of speculation in the link provided, and some inaccurate information. I am on the fence about Fr O but the only thing about the Pope's visit to Moscow in the Garabandal literature is Conchita's statement.
Well 1. even the stop in the airport is not assured, there are other places he can refuel. 2. Even if he does stop, this certainly does not guarantee the fulfillment of the prophecy, it may or it may not, we will only know after the fact.
True. More media coverage... Newsweek: https://www.newsweek.com/pope-francis-patriarch-kirill-meeting-moscow-mongolia-ukraine-war-1814778 Tass: https://tass.com/society/1650693 Lifesite https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/p...n-orthodox-patriarch-kirill-in-moscow-report/
They are all simply just reporting from the same source, TASS, so the information is very iffy still.
In Garabandal history: On December 6, 1962 Conchita had a 90 minute ecstasy around 5:30 in the afternoon after which, she provided two more pieces of information regarding the Miracle: 1) One day, before the Miracle, something will happen that will cause many people to stop believing in the apparitions of Garabandal. The doubts and desertions will not be due to an excessive delay of the Miracle.” From this it may be fairly reasonable to assume that the duration of time between the Warning and The Miracle will be shorter rather than longer than imagined. This shortness time of will preserve the freshness of memory of the education of sin that each will receive in The Warning and thus maximise the conversion experience of The Miracle. We know that the Warning and Miracle will be in the same even calendar year. We know that the Miracle will be in an April. So we know that the maximum wait in that year between The Warning and Miracle will be January to April. This was confirmed by Mari Loli who could not remember if the Blessed Mother said the wait was 3 weeks or if she said 3 months. This would take us from March to April or from January to April. January to April will allow more time to settle down after The Warning and prepare for the Miracle although more time may not be needed. More time will be needed after the Miracle to test our conversion as we go through the second period of Tribulation in the hope of avoiding Chastisement. As Purple Flower and Mario said , pray for conversions. We know its time to “Start your engines!” as they used to say in formula one racing.
I think you’re absolutely correct. And consider this: why would the current pope choose to go to Mongolia of all places… especially now that the world is on the brink of God knows what. No pope has ever gone to Mongolia. Mongolia has a population of 3 million, only a tiny fraction of which are Catholic - 2% are Christian of all denominations. Why go now!? It seems that the trip to Mongolia is only a pretext, an excuse for the stopover in Moscow without ruffling too many feathers. Russia is the reason for the trip. Now what if nothing is accomplished with this Moscow visit? Why would heaven mention it in Garabandal (assuming of course that Conchitas reference is accurate)? The prophecy would of course still be fulfilled. Heaven may have brought this to our attention as a POINT OF REFERENCE IN TIME. So that the small remnant would know where we are in God’s end time timeline. Not necessarily because the stopover itself would have earth shattering consequences - diplomatic or otherwise. Time will tell.
