Praetorian I had the strangest thought just now. You said how quickly and suddenly in the last year things in the Church have spun out of control. And it's True. Sudden warp speed. Why the suddenness? Fatima? The Reign of the Immaculate Heart? On the world stage two provocative things happened. Brexit. And Donald Trump. Is this God’s “shot across the bow” that the satanic reign is over? People in two powerful countries rose up and said NO. Now it isn’t tidy or easy. It has stirred up a hornets nest. The blowback has been thundering. But is that why the sudden speed up of forces in the Church pulling down everything they can? Because whether they know it or not the dark powers who have co-opted them know their time is running out? I want to think those running the Church are in this terrible haste in ignorance of who has orchestrated it....but these two events and the subsequent fever gripping the Vatican seem significant.

I think the speeding up is very indicative we on on the cusp of thunderous events.

It brings to mind the Latin phrase motus in fine velocior which refers to the speeding up of events as a period of history comes to a close, usually at a crisis point.

It also brings to mind Revelation 12:12
"Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you that dwell therein. Woe to the earth, and to the sea, because the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time."

Perhaps we are witnessing the last haphazard attempts of the devil to bring all of his plans to fruition within the time frame he was allotted. Sort of like a rush to finish a work project before the deadline. It can cause one to get sloppy. In this case because of the rapidly increased activity the mask has fallen off a bit and we can see the man behind the curtain pulling the strings.

Sorry if it seemed harsh. It just feels like we are all on the way to hell in a hand-basket if someone with the authority does not stand up and make a definitive statement.

How many souls are living in the belief that sacreligeous Communion is ok. How many Priests and Bishops or even Cardinals are living in the belief that it is ok. How long can that be allowed to go on, before God wipes us all off the face of the planet.

What is this if it is not a dreadful warning straight from the reading at Holy Mass on 5th November 2017:
Mal 1:14b-2:2b, 8-10 an exert from the reading that has scared the living daylights out of me.
And now, O priests, this commandment is for you:
    If you do not listen,
if you do not lay it to heart,
to give glory to my name, says the LORD of hosts,
I will send a curse upon you
and of your blessing I will make a curse.

Do you know what I was told last week. There is a couple of gay men in our parish who have an adopted son. One of the gay couple has RECENTLY converted to Catholicism. What sort of catechesis must be in place for a pervert to convert to Catholicism. The gay couple apparently are practising Catholic now and the adopted son is a server.

Of course it is possible the couple are living like brother and brother. How can we justify a boy being reared by two parents the same gender. That just does not seem right. I know the couple could be the best of people apart from their perversion.

Can someone cheer Julia up a bit. She is falling into despair with the crazy things going on.

About five years ago I had the most terrible foreboding. And what used to keep coming to me was about sack cloth and ashes.
I remember thinking, Jesus surely You don't want me to come to Church in sack cloth and ashes; because that was what I felt. And I thought if I do that the Church cleaners will go on strike, not only that but the Priest will call the men in white coats to take me away and have me locked up.

So I settled for other little acts of Faith and Reverence in the Church to let Jesus know I loved and respected Him and honoured Him to the best of my ability.

Of course we know now that Pope Benedict must have been in great anxiety about the goings on in the Vatican as well as the stubborn Bishops who would not obey him.

The whole process I suffered was about three years. I remember it because each year for three years I sent for Novenas of Holy Masses for Blessed Mothers intentions, not knowing how else to respond to the foreboding that gripped me.

Now the Mass readings keep jumping out at me in the most horrendous way as warnings, and I can't help feeling God is about to take action. Merciful Jesus, Son of God, have Mercy on Julia a sinner. Have Mercy on us all.

Just another reminder from scripture, "as it was in the day's of Lot". I won't give away my peace and joy of heart for what the world is applauding. I simply see it all as another sign and one that prompts us to dig in deeper to payer.

A child deserves a father and a mother.

    It is simple really.

    Look at nature.

    And you will abhor perversion.

For even the animals obey the law of nature.

But I know some will be happy with this bridge building and think it is wonderful - the likes of Fr Martin and his fantasy world divorced from reality.

People like Fr Martin believe in 'equality'. . But they do not believe in a hell of eternal perdition.

The teachings of the faith remain the same today as yesterday and tomorrow. They do not change with the fashions. Faith is permanent; fashions are transient.

    Julia,

I think it is possible that the correction was made and we are in another "holding" period. Of course, there is no way to know for sure.

What Father Wolfe states in the following video beginning at the 40:30 mark and ending at the 42:20 mark has greatly helped me and it may help others here also. He is basically saying to keep our perspective and to not be tempted to fall away. IOW, to stay in the Barque of St. Peter and try to remain hopeful.

Father Wolfe includes part of the following which I found on this link http://philotheaonphire.blogspot.com/2013/11/sermon-christ-is-point.html,

Let's close with some thoughtful comments written by Frank Sheed during the terrible chaos following the Council. Frank Sheed:

“In the criticisms uttered by many... there is a failure to see Christ as the whole point. So much in the daily running of the Church they find depressing – the sermons, they say, take no one deeper into the reality of God or man; this priest or that cares for nothing but money, the sick are neglected, the old are rejected; the hierarchy know nothing of the emotional or intellectual problems which are eating away at their people's faith, the Curia is simply a bureaucracy, using every trick to hold on to its power; as for the pope...

“It all adds up to ‘the Institutional Church’, with so many wondering if their spiritual integrity will permit them to remain in it.

“But Institutional Israel, the Chosen People, as the Prophets show it, was even worse than the harshest critics think the Catholic Church, yet it never occurred to the holiest of the Jews to leave it. They knew that however evilly the administration behaved, Israel was still the people of God. So with the Church: an administration is necessary if the Church is to function, but Christ is the whole point of the functioning. We are not baptized into the hierarchy, we do not receive the cardinals sacramentally, we will not spend eternity in the beatific vision of the pope.

“St. John Fisher could say in a public sermon, ‘If the Pope will not reform the Curia, God will’: a couple of years later he laid his head on Henry VIII's block for papal supremacy, followed to the same block by St Thomas More, who had spent his youth under the Borgia pope, Alexander VI, lived his early manhood under the Medici pope, Leo X, and died for papal supremacy under Clement VII, as time-serving a pope as Rome had had.

Christ is the point. I myself admire the present Pope [he was writing of Paul VI]; but even if I criticized as harshly as some do, even if his successor proved to be as bad as some of those who have gone before, even if I sometimes find the Church (as I have to live in it) a pain in the neck, I should still say that nothing a pope could do or say would make me wish to leave the Church, though I might well wish that he would. Israel, through its best periods as through its worst, preserved the truth of God's Oneness in a world swarming with gods – and the sense of God's majesty in a world sick with its own pride. So with the Church. Under the worst administration – say as bad as John XII's a thousand years ago – we could still learn Christ's truth, still receive His life in the sacraments, still be in union with Him to the limit of our willingness.”

In addition I like what Jay Boyd the author of the blog this came from states in her "about me", "I care deeply about the liturgy, and pray ardently for the "reform of the reform". I think we've strayed far from our Catholic identity over the last 50 years, and we need to return to the traditional teachings of the Church in order to regain lost ground."

I know that all MOG members are praying for the same thing that this author is praying for and I think that it will happen in God's time.

    Julia,

I understand very much how you feel. Whenever I see the title of this thread come to the top of the list my heart jumps for a quarter of a second as I think it is someone making the announcement, then I realize that it is just the same old thread.

We must be patient. The task we have been given right now is waiting and praying like the Apostles in the Garden of Gethsemane. Let us be vigilant and prayerful. Don't fall asleep at this late hour. There very well may be things going on behind the scenes that we are not taking into account. Cardinal Burke may have called every Cardinal and Bishop in the world during the past year. Perhaps at one point it looked like everything could have been settled and then it just fell apart. We just don't know.

One thing I have learned because of my great sins is to try never to point the finger at others. I don't always succeed, but that is the goal. For what if we make it to the Judgement and ask God why the Formal Correction took so long and He says because you were not praying enough.

The blessings of God on you Fatima. You have nailed it. "I won't give away my peace and joy of heart for what the world is applauding."
Something positive to focus on. (y)

And God bless you too Garabandal. you make me feel it is not crazy to think some in the world have gone mad.
Now to focus on the positive. (y)

Either we have gone mad or the world has gone mad.

But at the time of Christ they accused him of working by the power of the devil.

So things are often twisted to suit the agenda of the world.

But we are not of the world.

This prophesy seems to make more and more sense every day:

“A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, ‘You are mad; you are not like us.'”

Julia please don't despair, we are praying for your spiritual strength.

Despair is the tool of the evil one to separate and divide us. Together with our Mother Mary and the eternal patience of our Lord everything will come to light.

You're a strong woman with many wise words, I thank you for all that you have shared with myself and others. United in prayer for the completion of this war. Thanks for being on our side Julia. :)

I feel the same way. The only thing that helps me is the divine mercy chaplet and adoration. At times I feel paralyzed and only repeating Jesus I trust in you relieves me.

I am on the night shift tonight, that always throws me a little. A while ago I was walking in the hills with the dogs. It was freezing cold up the dogs in the sleet looking down on the lights of the city below. But I find those are the best times for getting close to God. In a funny kind of way all that is going on the world and in the Church at the moment is a bit like this. A good time to cuddle up to God in the warmth of His love.

For we are never ,ever alone. Lets make up our minds and heart to stay with Him, no matter who deserts Him.:)
