I wholeheartedly agree. In particular, I think Christy made some sober-minded contributions regarding prophecy.

Christy could well be a man. I just assumed she/he was a woman. I suppose that's because Irish Christophers tend to have their name shortened to Christy but I have seen Americans shorten the name Christine to Christy or Christi, and the forum member Christy is American. Anyway, I admired the reason and clarity in his/her posts.

I've never seen all the different prides laid out like this; thanks for sharing! Pride is my archnemesis. It's that sin I'm always painfully aware of, but when I try to fight it it almost feels like it's growing worse. I asked a priest once how to be humble, and he said humility is when you see things how they truly are, and when you're not thinking about yourself. He said, "When you're watching a movie, for instance, you're technically being humble, because your thoughts are completely not on yourself." I thought that was really neat! Unfortunately I am a major overthinker and self-analyzer so I think about myself WAY too much.

I do hope Christy comes back, even though she may feel a bit unhappy that her private correspondence was shown to everyone. Just the fact that she humbly kept her reasons for leaving private instead of airing them in public is part of why we need her here. We can all get carried away with speculation, fear, gossip and condemnation, and can really benefit from such reasonable, cautious, and charitable voices as hers. It was certainly charity to caution against unapproved messages potentially dangerous to our souls. I think we forget sometimes that false prophecy is often demonic. We can have great faith without running toward every prophecy or private revelation we see. Faith like a child requires that we are very open to belief, but always go to our mother the Church to see what she thinks first. This deference to obedience keeps us safe from the demonic behind so much of these supposed private revelations. If we accidentally discount a true one because we were trying to keep our souls safe, well, we have nothing to fear...because we know what God asks of us to stay close to Him, His Church, and to help save souls. The saints were extremely careful with private revelation and often required constant assurances that it wasn't their own voice or the devil talking to them instead of Jesus or Mary. They ALWAYS obeyed their superiors even when it conflicted with what Jesus told them in a vision. And this obedience is always what God prefers.

One saint said, 'My pride will die half an hour after I do'. I think that is one of the very remarkable things about Our Blessed Lady, the total absence of pride.

I believe one great sign of progress in this would not to be upset or offended by other people.

I heard a nice piece on this from an Orthodox Monk on Mount Athos.

He said if a monk passes by other peoples cells and sees them dirty and not well tended he might think how lazy the other monks are.

But if he passes them and is humble he will think, 'Oh look they are praying so hard they have no time to fix their cells!'.:)

    I agree with you.
But I won’t negate the power of the rosaries being offered. Time will tell.

    Yes. Apropos verse:

Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. (Matthew 10:16)
