The is one odd thing about Joe Biden. I go round all the Wards at night time. I am not a Doctor but one thing I have noticed with elderly patients with Dementia is their eyes. Around them they take on the most peculiar stretched look and the iris seems to loose colour. Joe reminds me of this so very much.
Yes it is a kindness really. One time she asked me why everyone hated her and I was tempted to tell her. But yes silence is best. Silence and prayer. I bear her no ill will.
The ten commandments were written on tables of stone --written with the finger of God. Because they are imperishable and enduring.
In recent times I have been thinking about Our Lady a lot and some of the things the mystics have said concerning her. One said that Our Lady loves us all as much as she loves her Son. A wonderful thing and I think true because the love of Mary is a Total Love. Unlike us, she does not do anything in half measures.. This being so she is always, always their for our needs. She is always present to us. Like all Good Mother's she is wise enough to let us stand on our own two good feet. But when we stagger she is always there to catch us. Another Mystic said that Mary is always present at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass standing to the right of the altar as she did at the Cross (St Michael the Arcangel is also present as Minister as we can tell from the words of the Liturgy).. This knowledge of her standing there truly enriches the Liturgy for me.
That is why the devil is going around creating trouble in places where the Ten Commandments are displayed. The evil one doesn’t want them in courthouses or on the lawns of towns. A guy I knew in high school tried to get the Ten Commandments taken down some years ago from the town of Cumberland, Maryland. I don’t think he was successful but many times the evil one succeeds in these atheistic times.
Exactly. Maybe some did not grasp the full significance of what the present pope said. If the commandments are relative to a specific time and place and not absolutes why stop there? Why not apply the same interpretation to Jesus’ words. Jesus said he came to confirm the Law not abolish it.
Agree. Bishop Schneider: Pope Francis 10 Commandments comments contradict Church teaching, akin to teaching of Martin Luther Schneider said that Pope Francis’ statement 'contradicts the teaching of the Church and is very much a kind of sola fide teaching of Martin Luther.' https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/b...teaching-akin-to-teaching-of-martin-luther-2/
I used to work with a woman who was intent on having me sacked. I was a colleague at first and we got on fairly well but I was promoted to be her supervisor and she reported me for 'harassing' her and making impossible demands. She quoted a particular meeting that we had together in an open plan office in which I requested co-operation and less aggression towards myself. She told management that I had shouted at her and demanded that she do as she was told without question. Happily for me, a manager had been doing some work on the other side of the screen and heard every word. She heard that I had been warned about my behaviour towards this woman and reported what had actually happened. The woman was warned for lying about me and immediately went absent and never returned. She died not long after this incident and I do sometimes pray for her. While the situation was unfolding, I used to slip holy water into her coffee - no idea whether it did any good but I hope so.
In his razor-like precision, Taylor Marshall blows my take (post 6) on Pope Francis' teaching on the absoluteness of the Big 10, out of the water! Mea culpa! Thank you, Dr. Marshall!
It was good of you to pray for her. When I see strange , bizarre behaviour I always suspect the presence of the Diabolic.
Holy water is always an excellent idea. Poor woman. You handled it well I think. And God vindicated you against her false accusations. Its so hard when this happens in work situations.
I didn’t want to argue Mario, but to paraphrase U.S. Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, I might not be able to define *heresy*, but I know it when I see it So to repeat my question/observation: This too seemingly is material heresy. Yet no one is allowed to touch the third rail about his legitimacy… This isn’t an off the cuff airplane remark about Zika and using prophylactics, itself material heresy. This - the 10 commandments - is a central doctrine of the Faith being undermined BY THE POPE!!!
This view of Pope Francis is actually similar in principle to his stand in Chapter 8 of Amoris Laetitia: Truth (read commandment) is rigid (1.e. absolute). Jesus understands our weaknesses. Accompaniment is more loving, etc... Oops! There's that word, rigid, again! Lord, touch the Heart of our Pope. Help him see that love and truth go hand-in-hand. Lord have Mercy!
. Well you are left with one certainty, the poor woman was not possessed otherwise all hell would have broken loose when she got a hint of holy water in her drink. And I confess to having used the same technique in a workplace situation, the details of which might bore you. LOL
