I can't speak for Pope Francis. My guess is that he was influenced by people calling for him to repeat the consecration. Ilm not sure that all of them had the best motives. Some of our Bishops and other people with influence in the Church appear to me to have politics guide their faith rather than vice versa. Following Pope John Paul's consecration of Russia, we saw the fall of the Soviet Union and a nuclear war avoided. What fruits are you seeing from the most recent consecration. I see none. If anything, those whose demands prevailed on the Pope are seeing their worst fears realised. Be careful what you wish for.
What I wish for is the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. No doubt all consecrations bear fruit but there is one to come that will usher in the triumph as desired by our blessed Lord so that His mother be honoured in the church and in the world. One suspects that this will happen in the midst of a horrid conflict that will bring untold destruction perhaps using nuclear weapons. The triumph of the Immaculate Heart is guaranteed and indeed it will be a miraculous event.
Yes, the Triumph will come. So will the conversion of Russia. All in God's time. My fear is that some, if not many, of those who believe that Russia has not been consecrated are projecting onto the Triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart this new rules based order that has zero to do with God but is an invention by people who despise God and especially the Church but have no problem using the Church when they see a need to paste a moral veneer over their evil. If anything, the "fruits" of this latest consecration are reversing the real fruits of the consecration by Pope John Paul. Look around you and ask yourself if what we have become is what God wants for a converted Russia. It appears to me that that was the goal of some who influenced Pope Francis, with anything spiritual being an optional extra for them. Let's not forget that Heaven has promised the conversion of Russia. Other countries where Russia's errors have spread and become embedded have no such promise. The way things are going, it won't be long before anything Catholic will be punishable as hate speech in our countries. I see Catholics glossing over or attempting to excuse State seizure of Russian Orthodox churches while they denounce China for expecting that our Church be subservient to the Chinese government. Jesus wasn't a big fan of hypocrites. What condition will we be in when Russia (and possibly China) are converted? Will our churches have been seized by the government and handed over to some religious group that is an echo chamber of the secular power? What is happening to them now has happened here in the past, perpetrated by the successors of the same powers that persecuted the Church here. Fruits of a better consecration? I think not. More like a reminder of what can happen when we expect God to operate to our timeline.
