470- « Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. » (Matthew 26, 41) Welcome God in our heart, Welcoming him at home, remaining in His Presence, is good. But prayer is an opportunity to hold His hand ... to stick to His Heart. A small child who crosses the street in the presence of his mother. It's good... but if in addition, he holds her hand, he avoids being run over by cars. With us, it's a bit the same ... We go through life in the presence of Jesus, and it's good, but, through prayer, we hold His hand and we avoid being crushed by sin. (L.C.)
I love the picture of Jesus holding the child's hand. May I be another Christ for others! Safe on the Father's Lap!
471- « I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. » (Luke 5, 32) He came for the sick and sinners. He knows very well that they just have need to be loved and cared for. Happy are those who recognize themselves sick and sinners, because they are them who let themselves be loved and cared for. (L.C.)
465- « If I do not have love, I am nothing. » (1 Corinthians 13, Don't keep anything for ourselves ... Give the best of ourselves to others and the less good to God so that He transforms it into good. (L.C.)
475- « These things I command you, that you love one another. » (John 15, 17) We love God because He first loved us. And we know we love God when we do everything to please Him. (L.C.)
Thank you, Louise. You remind me of an area of procrastination in my life that needs to change. Lord have Mercy!
477- « It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you. » (John 16, 7) Lord, you always think of us and to what's good for us. Your Spirit of love passes through our heart to keep us alive ... Your Spirit of love is Life, and Eternal Life! Thank you for welcoming this Ocean of love within us, because by ourselves we can do nothing. Oh! You love us so much! (L.C.)
480- « Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness... » (Matthew 6, 33) Just as the head of Christ on the Cross is at the junction where the horizontal wood and the vertical wood meet, so our thoughts and actions come together as much with things on Earth as they are on Heaven. We will then achieve the right, healthy and holy balance ... (L.C.)
252- « The Lord God has opened My ears and I Have not been rebellious, nor have I turned back. » (Isaiah 50, 5) When the Lord speaks, it is always with a language of love. It is the ears of our heart that need to be opened, since God dwells there. That’s where His Voice comes from. (L.C.)
145- « For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son. » (John 3,16) God loves us so much more than anything we can imagine! (L.C.)
484- « If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! » (Luke 11, 13) To receive the Holy Spirit, one thing is required… Request Him. God always wants to fill us with His Graces, but sometimes He waits for us to ask Him for them. He respects our freedom. (L.C.)
419- « I am the Light of the world. » (John 9, 5) Jesus, You the Light of the world, You light up our life. We give you thanks! (L.C) Credit: Louise Cardin
426- « Behold, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and evil. » (Deuteronomy 30, 15) We have a choice, but we are too weak, wounded and even foolish to always make the right choices open to us ... Without God, we are lost. Lord, by Your immense Tenderness, save us from ourselves! Save us from the evil that dwells in us and which attracts us so easily. (L.C.)
548- « Laying His hands on each one, He healed them. » (Luke 4, 40) Looking at my pot of apple cider vinegar this morning I see a heart at the bottom of the bottle ... How that ties in with this morning's Gospel! Apple cider vinegar has several therapeutic values. Imagine how much the love of Jesus can heal! L.C.
