I read one Mystic who said Jesus went to the place we used to call, 'Limbo'. I think there are places in the afterlife that are bast described as, 'Paradise', but not heaven.

    A kind of Waiting Room.

But personally I think Jesus went to Hell itself.

Justice demanded it. They had it coming to them. Pay Back.

We all tend to have a warped sense of past decades. Many of early 20th century encyclical, decrees etc written against widespread moral corruption. I remember rereading mere christianity. Lewis makes the amusing observation that in 1940s England we can't even presume a people that knows the difference between right and wrong. The first broadcast was an argument to remind the masses of the reality of the moral law as a kind of first step toward Christianity. What separates us from earlier ages is not so much the degree of wickedness but the means to amplify wickedness through technology etc.

At the same time there is a kind of madness in the World at the moment which to me presupposes the fullness of Evil. A kind of ripening of the Fruit of Evil. Look how many people died of Mass Murder in the 20th Century.

This never stopped it only changed form into things like Abortion which eclipses all the evil in the World that has ever gone before. Yes, we always had abortion but not like now.

I would say anyone who supports Abortion is totally morally insane.

I would say one of the Great Signs of Total Evil in the World is madness. Many people are insane. Like this poor Professor.

precisely, in fact the 20th century with the globalization of communication and the consolidation of the U.S. as a power (which transformed the English language into a global language), provided the basis for the construction of a global empire against God, a kind of "new Tower of Babel".

I know he gets a bad rap sometimes but hans urs von balthasar has a great essay on Christ's decent to hell that I read many moons ago. In His human will He suffered the sum total of the world's NO to God.

In this realm of sports, the NCAA is wed to evil...to an agenda devoid of logic and built on oppression and intimidation. All in the name of freedom, but freedom is never a synonym for tyranny.

Our culture is insane revealing the demonic!
At this point it can only be defeated by using spiritual weapons. Mary Most Powerful, pray for us!

    Lord have mercy!

The weapon is the rosary -

Padre Pio - “Some people are so foolish that they think they can go through life without the help of the Blessed Mother. Love the Madonna and pray the Rosary, for her Rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today. All graces given by God pass through the Blessed Mother.”

Padre Pio prayed the Rosary fervently on a daily basis and even kept a few rosaries under his pillow. One night he wasn’t able to find his rosaries, so he called Fr. Onorato of San Giovanni Rotondo and said to him, “Young man, get me my weapon; give me my weapon.”

Wonderful quote from Padre Pio. I am plagued with misplacing breaking or losing Rosaries so I keep several on hand at any given time. I have one wound around my wrist at night and in my pocket during the day. I often fall asleep praying it. Our Lady will see us through these dark and terrible days. She told Fr Gobbi that she will keep us in her Immaculate Heart as in an enclosed garden as all things around us crumble away. And she is doing it.

Padre Pio was so wonderful . My hero.

I remember a story about him sitting out in the garden one day praying. One of the Friars, thinking he had a chance to place some letters in front of Padre Pio to answer them approached. But Padre Pio said he was busy with some people. The Friar bewildered looking around the empty garden.

    But Padre Pio said,

'Far more souls from Purgatory visit me for prayers than do live one. If you only see it , there is a large line of them winding all the way down the hill to the monastery.'

I thank God with all my heart for His Mercy and His Blessings unto my family and I. My daughter delivered a baby girl this morning! A veritable Easter Blessing. I am humbled. We do well always and everywhere to give You, Almighty and Everliving God, thanks and praise, through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.
