Dearest people of God, This raises a few questions in me: Where is that thorn from the crown of Jesus? Has it been scientifically examined? What is the name of the doctor who apparently examined the girl? Has the local Bishop officially approved this, apart from hearsay? Could it be that some people of God are falling for the next new thing, with itching ears?
In the above thread it is claimed that one of the thorns of the crown of Our Lord was found in the Mexican child.
Although I want to know if this child’s bishop is involved and supports this little girl, I do remember that Our Lady of Fatima asked the children if they were willing to accept sufferings from heaven for souls at their tender, young ages….and they agreed. It would seem that regardless of their young age and lack of any real education or maturity, they were offered and accepted Our Lady’s request to accept sufferings…and they certainly did. Jacinta’s death was horrible….and for such a young, innocent child. But it was allowed by heaven for the salvation of souls. So this is a possibility….
...as I'm not one to create an account on Brown's website, just so I can finish reading a story, does anyone know any specifics of what the girl is saying is supposed to happen? Certainly, I'm curious. But that doesn't mean my faith is changed, altered or that I'm allowing myself to be led astray. Also, as I've often posted ( though I dont post often), I pray for everyone's intentions, here. I see many new ones listen on the forum.
Hello Michael, I agree, something like that should be given to her Bishop for close examination. This is all part of the discernment process. The problem with this case is that we are hearing about this child only from one source, Jaime Duarte, and not directly from the Church. I understand that they are trying not to give out the location of this child. But at least what would be helpful is for other bishops of Mexico to verify that this locution is being reviewed by the Church. Otherwise, it remains a source wonder until more is known, Your second observation regarding the faithful falling for the next new thing, well that is the nature of locutions when they are first known, isn't it. I always refer back to Fatima, everyone thought the three children were making up the story, and it turned out, that in the course of time, that the children were telling the truth. So, the best answer is to wait in hope for the Boshop of her diocese to examine this, in the course of time. In the meantime we can pray for this little girl and her family. We are circling the airport until the Bishop tells us to land.
“But at least what would be helpful is for other bishops of Mexico to verify that this locution is being reviewed by the Church. Otherwise, it remains a source wonder until more is known,” Yes…this is a great solution to keeping the child and her diocese anonymous. Let a number of bishops confirm this is currently being investigated…or even one bishop who acknowledges that he is not the child’s bishop but is speaking as a proper church authority.
Or because of translation it's also possible it could have been a splinter from the cross as the injury was in her neck. Padre Pio suffered the most from a pain in his shoulder - the pain that Christ endured carrying the cross. Maria Esperanza the noted mystic from Venezuela had a miraculous rose come out of her chest - We are body and spirit so God works in mysterious ways in and through us.
Jesus spoke about this things and the prophets before, hence it is written in Hebrews 1:1-2 “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The disciples said to Jesus. “Tell us,” … what will be the sign of your coming ..?” For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather. “Immediately after the distress of those days “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door". Matthew 24:22-31 “…your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. Joel 2:28-32 “ For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. Titus 2:11-12
There was another person who appeared to her - Luisa Piccarreta! She mentions her two times. "...and also sees Saint Rose of Lima, Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, founder of Opus Dei, Padre Pio, who taught her how to pray the Rosary in Latin, the mystic Luisa Piccaretta, and the Fatima children, Jacinta and Francisco (though not Lucia).” If true - discernment needed as Michael Brown said.
The stiff necked will not be swayed by a 9 year old Mexican girl any more than their hearts were turned by children from Portugal long ago, much less the multitude of warnings Our Lady has increasingly bestowed upon us. Warnings, miracles, stigmata...does anyone really need any more proof to understand what is upon us after watching the real time events occurring moment by moment?
Well, so true, we have been warned, no more proof needed. What is upon us is called tribulation. If I had lived in Portugal in 1917, I would have surely gone to check out the promised miracle on 13 October, and then would have seen the great sun miracle! Jacinta, Lucia and Francesco did not budge, even though they were arrested on 13 August. This is quite different from today, where we have an abundance of alleged apparitions of which most turn out to be fake or from below.
Ah FP, the words of mystics and saints are never wasted by God; they add to the waters of dammed-up grace that will flood the world at the appointed time to open hearts to the awesome Mercy of the Lord! How marvelous shall that day be. For us, who have been graced already, let us join Our Lady's Army in humility and hopefulness! https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=Battle+of+Lepanto The Second Victory of Lepanto, 450 years after the First, is close at hand!
Romans 5:3 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.
