Apparently the nursing home deaths (murders?) Loom large. Fox News Janet Dean who lost her in laws in this horror says there is a lot of momentum toward going after Cuomo and his secretary of health. Their decision to do this terrible thing was both deliberate and self serving in Dagan McDowell words.
It was interesting, in a macabre way, how the same press that was lionizing Cuomo over his handling of the pandemic would then cover the nursing home deaths as if it were somehow Trump's fault. "We're following the directives from the White House!" Cuomo would proclaim -- until someone asked WHERE on the White House website he had found those directives. Then Cuomo's team would rewrite his webpage to remove any reference to the directives and point at Trump. I also remember the emergency hospitals set up in Central Park and the hospital ship the Navy brought in; both the hospitals and the ship left after a month, having treated a total of zero patients. Also Trump's fault.
I REALLLLLY hope they don't use this harassment spectacle to cover up what he should be being taken to task for and that is this nursing home disaster that due to his direct decisions became a huge crisis and affected hundreds of people. I pray there is justice for those people.
I rather doubt it. He spent all of his terms in office blaming others for things going wrong. We'll never know how or why he thought shoving sick old people in with healthy old people was a good idea. Probably because if he did anything else he'd be admitting to people that the problem was much, MUCH greater than he had been pretending. Don't forget: when Trump was warning people not to go out and celebrate the Chinese New Year, Cuomo as well as the mayors of New York and San Francisco laughed at him, and made it a point to encourage people to go out and party. Two weeks later, cases spike in those locations.
Wow. It took me 5 hours to post that last post. First the electricity went out around 7:30, then after it came back up at 9 the internet went out. I just found that post when I was getting ready to shut down the PC and ran across it.
In politics, the Party will exalt its own in order to promote itself as noble; in addition, when you're Democrat, the media hops on board whole hog. The minute your usefulness is tainted, you're a goner. This is especially true in Cuomo's case because the Party can promote their anti-harassment stance simultaneously with ejecting a bad apple. It is the nature of politics. Of course I'm glad to see Cuomo go, but it will do little to change the direction of politics in the State. NYC rules and the Big Apple is Democrat. Lord have Mercy on Andrew Cuomo by bringing him back to a state of grace!
Yes. Lord have mercy on his soul. In Maryland, a lifelong Dem passed away recently. He was a state legislator for years.....as he approached his death from terminal cancer, I could see from his facial expressions that he was being convicted by the Lord. (Was raised Catholic) Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
Definitely weird happenings. I logged off the forum as usual on my tablet last night. Went to log back on today, and I was already logged in, and it opened to draft of a post I had written weeks ago. Our PC was also acting crazy this morning. Also a flurry of annoying and expensive house drama. The carpenter is here reparing one problem, and the plumber is coming tomorrow for another. I plan on sprinkling some blessed salt around our property today. Not sure what is going on around here.
