Something I read some years ago, is that Satan also does not know when the End Times will be; so he has had at least one Antichrist available at all times in every age.
Revelation 8:1 The Seventh Seal 1 When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven trumpets.…
There's material for great debate on all this. Certainly, a secular, apostate Europe would be a push-over; even a common-garden viral epidemic frightens the life out of us. Still, the prophesies predict we will rally and be victorious-this implies a necessary prior rally in Catholic belief. Regarding Afghanistan, a few points: a). The Afghans, I believe, were notoriously war-like before Mohammed. Bactria it was then called. b). The geography. c). Rapid realisation by all invaders that this country is just not worth it.
I like all of the points you made, DeGaulle, but I LOVE c. c). Rapid realisation by all invaders that this country is just not worth it.
I don;t really believe that Islam is a Religion of Peace. I know some Muslims interpret the Q'uran that way but an authentic interpretation of the texts would involve perpetual Jihad, Holy War. until the entire planet is Islamic. There are about 2 billion Muslims in the world. I believe this came about basically because of Jihad. Mostly of a Muslim wants to leave the Faith they risk death or some kind of penalty. I believe the entire impetus of Islam is towards holy War. The only thing that put this on hold was the Scientific/ Industrial Triumph of the West, once the West starts to collapse full on out Jihad will, naturally start again, in fact it already has. It was always waiting in the wings. I discovered something I never knew before a few months back. At the Fall of Constantinople to Islam there were some spectacular Marian manifestations in the city just as it was collapsing..as though Our Lady were publically lamenting. This was around their great Icon. I must see if I can find an account. 'God's signs in 1453 in Constantinople: A few days prior to the fall of Constantinople into the hands of the Ottomans, strange signs appeared in the city and the sky above it. Although it was 22nd of May 1453, the city was covered from a strange thick layer of fog. This "out of this world" atmosphere intensified the bad mood of all the inhabitants. Many compared the event with the equivalent darkness during the hours of the crucifixion of Jesus. That same night another strange and unexplained phenomenon was observed in the sky. The sky was clear, pleasant and free from clouds. Although the Moon should have been seen as a full moon, the Moon appeared as if it only were three days old ( New Moon).'
The Icon , the main Marian Icon of Constantinople , of Bysantine was called the Hodegetria https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hodegetria
You know a lot of what is going on the in the world is very similiar to all this, the Fall of Constantinople. Only in our case we are talking of the Fall of the West. Revelation 14:8 The Three Angels and Babylon's Fall …7And he said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship the One who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and the springs of waters.” 8Then a second angel followed, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who has made all the nations drink the wine of the passion of her immorality.” 9And a third angel followed them, calling out in a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image, and receives its mark on his forehead or on his hand,…
Recently I was teaching history to my 2nd grader, and we were reading about the fall of Constantinople... When we got to the part where everyone gathered in Haga Sophia for one last Mass as the Muslims arrived to take the city, I cried and had to put the book down for a minute. My 2nd grader didn't understand the full import but I know what happened to those Christians after their last beloved Mass in their beautiful basilica. What makes it all the more tragic is that it could have been avoided if the people had forgiven instead of holding onto their anger toward the Roman Church. The Pope was ready to come to their rescue if they'd accepted reunification, but the people would have none of it. They paid a terrible price. It is terrible to realize yet again how our own stubbornness in sin has brought the world to its current state.
Yes, I heard the saying of the Byzantines, "Better fall to the Ottomans than submit to the Catholic Church."
Dear Jesus save us from pride. So diabolical. To prefer the Ottomans to the Church of Rome!!! Guess they got what they wanted.
