My reading of the prophesy, and it's been a while, is that Russia invades first, while the Mohammedans follow subsequently as opportunists, but get wiped out much like the Persians at the Battle of Marathon. There are Orthodox prophesies of Russia invading Turkey and it's hard to imagine an alliance between these historical enemies any more than the perfunctory, distrustful one that exists at the moment because of common interests in Syria. Both the Western and Orthodox prophesies predict a mass conversion of Islamic people to Christianity. For whatever reason, Mohammedans only seem to fight well in wars in which they possess an overwhelming advantage. An attack on three fronts upon Israel failed a few times; the Boko Haram offensive in Nigeria a couple of years ago was repelled by a handful of Afrikaner mercenaries, the modern equivalent of Marathon Athenians. The Mohammedan civilisation was stagnant, at best, for many centuries until their fortuitous discovery of oil beneath their sands-the imminent demise of fossil fuels might provoke them into one last desperate charge against a Europe they have never fully succeeded in conquering.

I think a wait and see approach is best, as it progresses it's fruits will be made manifest for all to consider. I did have a pretty hard knee jerk reaction to it when it was announced but in reflection my view softened a bit.
I believe that a Mahdi-figure will emerge simply because so many of the descriptions and prophecies of the Mahdi match so well with descriptions and prophesies of the Anti-christ. I believe that Garabandal is a valid apparition, and that the Warning, the Miracle, and the Chastisement are events that have been prophesied in one form or another from authentic Catholic visionaries (only coming together in their current descriptions under Garabandal) and that both the Warning and the Miracle will work to lead many of Islam and Judaism into the Catholic faith.
A helpful way of understanding and remembered the difference between Sunni and Shia is to regard the Sunni's as the Islamic, 'Catholics', and the Shia as the Islamic, 'Protestants'. Sunni's with Mecca being the Islamic Rome. They hate each other at least as much as Catholics and Protestants hated each other during the European Religious Wars. A religious Messianic Figure who could unite the two would be really quite something and make Islam an unstoppable force.
Considering what is currently happening in Afghanistan where bands of Islamic mountain hill billies have defeated in turn the forces of the former Soviet Union and the combined forces of the USA and several other Western Armies with relative ease I wouldn't be inclined to write Islam of as spent force. I think what sets Islamic fighters apart is that they really do believe in what they re doing as an article of religious, deeply, deeply held. The Western Secular would on the other hand has lost their Faith and their way. All they have is paid professional troops. Which is why people like the Taliban won. The only force that will defeat a dedicated Religious Army is another, equally dedicated Religious Army. Former Popes knew this, hence the Crusades the Military Orders like the Knights Templar and the Teutonic Knights. Paid professionals who are effectively mercenaries, just won't cut it.
I don’t believe Islamism will rise again like it did in the year 668. I have read ISIS was actually funded by the West. And watching these endless wars started by the Global Cheney types, I tend to believe it. Our Lady told Fr Gobbi - “Join me in battle, little children, against the beast like a lamb, Masonry, infiltrated into the interior of ecclesial life in order to destroy Christ and His Church. To attain this end, it seeks to build a new idol, namely a false christ and a false church.” To me this is the new Antichrist. He would have to be trusted by those inside the Church. I doubt a Muslim would have the power or knowledge to change our Church into a false Christian one. It must be a concerted effort between the Masonic Bishops, and a global leader, who is helping the Church. Many come to mind today.
I believe the Tribulation will continue to occur at a number of different levels, physical events like weather swerves, seismic events, asteroids, political events like civil wars and revolutions, plagues, and on and on and on. Very similar to the ten plagues that hit the Egyptians.

I don't believe that the anti Christ manifests until the End of Time and Armageddon, according to Scripture. The Tribulation is not the end of the world though scripture tells us it will seem very much like it... ..however I suppose a lesser anti Christ like say Hitler, Nero, Napoleon my very well be in the offing... But it is important to distinguish between the Tribulation and the End of Times...this is a mistake our Protestant sisters and brothers are forever making... ..the same with notion of the Rapture which is a recent made up thingy...
I also think Many Protestants focus far too much on the State of Israel, which is Secular Socialist rather than religious. Everything that happens , according to them, revolves around Israel. It is very tiresome and false..

Padraig, I agree with you. Nero, Hitler, Napoleon did quite a lot of damage. So, this present one won’t be a piece of cake either. One interesting thing about Gobbi’s locutions, is that he commented on how this coming AC is the one mentioned most in scripture. I’m not sure if that’s true, but if it is, we are in for quite some time.
