I guess what I am trying to say is that our Spiritual Lives are not emant to be a gentle stroll along green meadows. God sets before us moemnts of Kairos of sttep mountains and bags when we are lifted up given a good shake and set right back down again. There is an inclination , when tehse thigns happen to think of them as the bad times , the times when things fall apart, times of division , when all that we ahve known seems to fall away from under our feet. But it is in fact in these very moments of Kairos of crisis that our hearts as individuals and a CHurchare most open to the workings of the Holy Spirit.

These ar elistneing moments. We can long som uch for the gentle stroll along the meados, the good times of peace and relaxation that we refuse to listen and miss the moment of Kairos, of change. Of the Holy Spirit hammering down the doors of our hearts and refuse the open doors of change:

I think Jesus Himself speaks of these moments of Kairos in the Gospel when He speaks of the need for confrontation of war if you like and of the sword:

    Matthew 10:34

    The Sword of the Gospel
33But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father in heaven. 34Do not assume that I have come to bring peace to the earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn ‘A man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.…

So when we see division and questions and disharmony , when we see oursleves no longer in the gentle meadow but up upon the mountains ,struggling the rocks we need not jump to the conclusion that things have gone to pieces. In a sense ,they have gone to pieces, but they have gone to pieces , perhaps in order that they be remade. A moment of Kairos.

We know at Fatima that Our Lady promised us that, 'In the End my Immcaulate Heart will Triumph. So we know that we as a Church and individuals are moving towards that end point. What on Earth would make us think that that journey would be made without going through moments of Kairos, of crisis, of tmes when we are picked up, shook all up and set right down again?

This is such a moment. This is Kairos. A time of great opportunity for growth.

When I first joined the forum everyone was happy to look at prophecy.

Everyone was quite happy to read warnings like, ... 'Bishop opposing Bishop, Cardinal opposing Cardinal'

What did you think it meant?

I suppose most hoped it would mean A Pope leading a few sound Bishops against the false maxims of the world.
But now you find the Pope is actually promoting the false maxims of the world.

Pray for the Pope , fight error. Stop being babies.
I assume you are all confirmed. All those over the age of 12 and confirmed are called on to be soldiers of Christ.
    Fight error.[IMG]

Straight out of MDM's handbook. Did you know you have become a poster boy for her followers?

If what you have quoted above happens, please explain to me how Jesus was not lying.

I've been on Catholic forums for 12 years. I've seen and heard Pope bashing for 12 years. It was new to me at first and shocking. I've heard each Pope in succession called everything from misguided to heretic. Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict, Pope Francis. Coming almost entirely, it has to be said, from Trads who could give you LOTS of backup for their statements. Heck even Mother Theresa got quite a bashing on those forums. One man I remember even had a book published on why she should never be canonised. He could show you lots of images and statements to back this up.

I've been called everything for defending Popes. Following in blind faith instead of using my brain was a choice insult. It delighted the Protestants on those forums, as did the division among Catholics. See, they said, there are just as many Catholic sects as Protestant ones. Catholic unity indeed, they sneered. Now this latest insult is that I'm too nice, or don't understand Papal infallibility (give me a break), or a baby, or can't be doing with anything that isn't all nicey-nice-let's all just get along.

Those Trads could really sock it to you. Page after page. Quote after quote. It wears you down. With their spin, each Pope looked worse than Satan.

Mother Teresa will be canonised Sept. 4. Pope John Paul II is already a Saint of the Church.

I came to this forum reeling from the BS of those other forums. Now this place is turning into the same.

I agree. On the basis this forum is going we all must owe Mary Carberry aka Maria Divine Mercy an apology. (Sarcasm intended).

MDM was fought on this site some years ago.
Member Garabandal was instrumental in fighting her here on the forum and Padraig booted her.

    Fight yes,
But fight with the truth at least.

I am fighting with the truth. One of the her main messages was that our Pope was an anti-Pope, which he is not. The reason we rejected her was because of what she was saying about Pope Francis.

We should reject her because of heresy....

    MARIA DIVINE MERCY HERESIES

    MDM HERESY OF INDIFFERENTISM:

21/11/2010: ‘All paths lead to God, the creator of mankind.’ Jesus actually said ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.’

‘All paths’, by definition include the false religions and superstitions of the pagans, of Islam, Talmudism, Protestantism, Cabala, etc. -- which deny truths revealed by God that are necessary for salvation; HENCE: They do not lead to God.

16/1/2011: ‘It is vital that My children understand the way in which they can prepare their souls in order to redeem themselves in the eyes of My Father.’

We cannot redeem ourselves: Jesus Christ is the sole Redemmer of men.

ABOMINABLE MDM HERESY CLAIMS HER OWN WRITINGS ARE SACRED SCRIPTURE:

7/2/2011: ‘It is because of this scripture [i.e., MDM’s messages] that they will survive The Warning.’

Message 18/3/2011: ‘Respect this most Holy Scripture.’

INFALLIBLE DOGMA OF THE CATHOLIC FAITH: THE CANON OF SCRIPTURE IS CLOSED SINCE THD DEATH OF THE LAST APOSTLE.

MDM HERESY ON THE NATURE OF REDEMPTION:

21/5/2011: ‘My love, after the act of Redemption takes place, will flood your soul.’

The ONLY act of redemption took place 2,000 years ago on the CROSS.

MDM TEACHES THE CONDEMNED HERESY OF MILLENARIANISM:

25/6/2011: [God the Father!] ‘This New Paradise on Earth is now being planned for all My children. It will last 1,000 years on earth.’

This heresy was already una imously condemned in its various forms by the Fathers of the Church, and has been repeatedly condemned in its variously recurring forms throughout Church history.

MDM AGAIN TEACHES THE HERESY OF INDIFFERENTISM:

31/8/2011: ‘All religions, all creeds…are all so precious to My Eternal Father.’

There is only one true religion according to the Catholic faith. All other religions are FALSE. It is blasphemy to say that the false religions are "precious" to God.

    MDM TEACHES PROTESTANT HERESY:

13/9/2011: ‘Never allow yourselves to accept any truth other than that contained in the Holy Bible.’

This is the condemned heresy of Martin Luther: ‘sola scriptura’! As Catholics we must believe what is revealed in the Holy Bible and all that is revealed by God in Sacred Tradition.

MDM FALSE TEACHING DIRECTLY OPPOSES CHRIST'S TEACHING IN THE GOSPEL:

6/11/2011: ‘Remember the demon lives not just in Hell but has firmly established his reign on earth.’

Satan’s rule was overthrown by Christ’s redemptive act. John 12:31 -" Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the prince of this world be cast out."

    BLASPHEMOUS MDM HERESY:

7/11/2011: ‘Without your sacrifice I could not fulfil my promise to save mankind so that every soul is accorded the opportunity to benefit from their rightful inheritance.’

The infinite merits of Christ's Passion & Desth ‘could not’ save mankind without MDM!!! HA!

MDM HERESY DENIES THE INFINITE & ETERNAL PERFECTION OF DIVINE KNOWLEDGE:

24/12/2011: [God the Father] ‘When I realised that the only way to redeem mankind was to send a Saviour…’

MDM HERESY ON THE TEACHINGS NECESSARY FOR SALVATION:

12/5/2012: “It will take strong faith and acceptance of the Truth contained within these messages from Heaven to stay on the true path to eternal life.”

MDM claims that acceptance of her messsges are necesssry for salvation, which is against the dogma of faith, which teaches that all truths necesssry for salvation are revealed in sacred scripture and tradition, and set forth by the magisterium of the Church.

MDM HERESY ON THE NECESSITY OF SACRAMENTAL CONFESSION:

9/7/2012: “For Catholics among you, you must receive the Sacrament of Confession every two weeks if you wish to remain in a state of Grace.”

The Church has always taught that the Sacrament of Penance is necessary only when one has comitted mortal sin, and is not necessary to stay in the state of grace. The law of the Church has required confession only once a year for many centuries.

MDM HERESY ON THE NATURE OF ANGELS:

18/12/2012: “Every child murdered in the womb becomes an angel in My Father’s Kingdom.”

God created the angels before the creation of men. All humans after death remain as human souls. They cannot become angels. Angels were directly created by God, as the Chyrchvdefines, as "pure spirits". The angelic nature is created without a body -- no soul can ever become an angel.

MDM HERESY ON CHRIST'S SECOND COMING:

10/12/2012: “My Return will be the moment of My Glorification.”

Christ's glorification according to Scripture & Tradition took place in the already accomplished salvific mysteries of His Passion, Death & Resurrection.

IF YOU OBSTINATELY PROFESS ANY HERESY YOU EXCOMMUNICATE YOURSRLF FROM THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AN CEASE TO BE A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH.

    Far right/far left.

Didn't know the Catholic Church was a political party.

I don't think these are 'labels' that are helpful.

As I said on another thread here:

...it's been exposed as a fraud and condemned by the Church and is not welcome here.

Frankly the devil knew what he was doing when he inspired the MDM fraud. He lead many souls astray with its messages.

But more importantly it made faithful Catholics completely disregard any voices of concern about this pope, thinking any otherwise valid criticism of this pope is inspired by false messages.

MDM made the job of actually promoting Truth and defending the Faith very much harder.

    Diabolically cunning.

Now when folks don't want to consider the words of a poster, they can falsely charge him with being a secret MDM follower. Any message they don't want to hear, they can claim as inspired by this fraud.

I didn't understand what the devil was up to when the obvious fraud of MDM was exposed. Now I do. Again, diabolically cunning, in disarming faithful Catholics for what is ahead.

I don't always post but I just want to say how disturbing I find the direction this thread is taking. I love Pope Francis. I do not see any change to our Catholic doctrine or beliefs that he has instituted. He has given us this wonderful wonderful gift of the year of mercy. Everyone on this forum prays. We aren't all receiving messages to be wary of our pontiff. Could it be possible that Satan is planting seeds of doubt in the Pope bashers minds and that maybe they have gotten things very very wrong?

For the record I am not accusing Padraig of being an MDM follower.

What I an saying is MDM followers are told Pope Francis is a false Pope and they are being told to stay with the church until they see the words of the Mass changed.

Someone very very dear to me is an MDM follower and I sent her to this forum some time ago in the hope that the sound Catholic posters here could influence her.

That worked out well didn't it:(

the Pope said. “I’ve seen a lot of fidelity in these cohabitations, and I am sure that this is a real marriage, they have the grace of a real marriage because of their fidelity..."

No changes in Catholic beliefs, huh? You love Pope Francis? Great, so do I. So does Padrig. So does Brian. So does Mac. So does Garabandal. So does Hiedi. But we love Truth (Jesus Christ) more. We are willing to step onto this battlefield and fight for Him.
The reason Our Lord is letting this papacy happen, is because He is giving us ONE. LAST. CHANCE to cease the very crime we have committed against Him for lo these 50 years, one last chance to come to His defense. One last chance to shake off our effeminacy and instead rise up in virility and fight for Him.

Why does God come to us in the Eucharist? Why does He condescend to change a humble piece of bread into His physical substance? Why does He allow Himself to be called down onto the altar by a man – a priest? Why does he allow Himself – His physical substance – to be reposed inside of all of those tabernacles? Why does He expose Himself to possible desecration all day every day all over the world?

He makes Himself so incredibly vulnerable so that WE CAN TAKE CARE OF HIM. He leaves Himself wide open and exposed so that we can be good and loving TO HIM. He who provides and gives us everything, even gives us the ability to give back to Him. He who guards, defends and protects us, gives us the ability to guard, defend and protect Him. He who has given us the beauty of the stars and galaxies, the mountains, the sea, the plants and animals, has given us the ability to give Him the beauty of our architecture, our works of art, and our music. And most especially, He who stepped into the breach and fought and conquered sin and death for us, the perfect act of chivalry, borne of perfect virility, borne of perfect, infinite love, gives us the chance to DEFEND HIM, to confront and combat His enemies. He intentionally remains passive – for a time – precisely so that we may rush to HIS AID. Why? Because He knows that in doing this – doing the right thing – we will be truly happy. (Ann B.)

You know what I don't even know where half of these quotes from the Pope come from. They could be misinterpreted or anything. Pope Francis did not change anything at the last synod. Fact. Also I believe there are Catholic marriages where there is infidelity or divorce at the slightest upset or prenuptial agreements or decision not to have children. I also see people who cohabit who maybe (and I'm not condoning it) as another member pointed out, as a result from the society we live in cannot afford to get married university student loans mountains of debt before they even start work nearing their mid to late twenties cohabit and start a family. They maybe cannot afford the wedding they wish to have with family and friends. Now I know that all they need is their two witnesses their priest each other and their rings if they really want marriage but it is the pressure society puts and wrongfully so on people. Pope Francis however is showing mercy and maybe just maybe these couples will enter into the wonderful sacrament of marriage and not feel that the church will not welcome them!

    Defending the Pope

Jesus declared Peter, this man of flesh and blood, to be the rock of the Church. And for over 2000 years, despite some of the scoundrels we’ve had at the helm of the Barque of Peter, NOT ONE POPE has ever changed the deposit of faith and morals that comprises Sacred Tradition. Why? Because it is Jesus, not the Pope, who is building His Church.

This " mob mentality " of let's convict the Pope of a crime (even though none has been committed ) just because he talks about change. Talking and DOING are two different things !
IF we all acted on words and not deeds , everyone on this forum could be in jail ! (Have YOU ever said " I could kill him / her " ) or some other ridiculous statement ?
Yes , we all can agree that some of his quotes are liberal ( as Jesuits are known to be ), but how about praying for him, that Jesus keeps in safeguarded from error ( as he has done in the past ),
lest you be judged as harshly as you judge the Vicar of Christ !

Beware of Fake Mercy – Behold True Mercy in the Call of St. Matthew
[IMG]This year in particular (the year of mercy), we are summoned to reflect on the concept of mercy. Many think of mercy as an overlooking of sin rather than as a remedy for it. To some, the fact of God’s mercy is a sign that He doesn’t care about sin and is content to leave us in it. Those who speak to the reality of mercy are often called harsh, mean-spirited, etc. Many set mercy and sin in opposition to one another.

The Lord Jesus unites these realities together. For the Lord, mercy is necessary because there is sin, not because sin is “no big deal.” It is because sin is a big deal that mercy is needed and is glorious.

Bishop Robert Barron aptly states, Many receive the message of divine mercy as tantamount to a denial of the reality of sin, as though sin no longer matters. But just the contrary is the case. To speak of mercy is to be intensely aware of sin and its peculiar form of destructiveness (Vibrant Paradoxes: The Both/And of Catholicism, p. 1).

So mercy does not deny sin; it acknowledges it and supplies an often-challenging remedy. Jesus shows mercy by calling us from our sin and healing us from its effects.

This understanding is evident in the Gospel from Friday (Matt. 9:9-13 – Friday of the 13th week of the year).

    As Jesus passed by,
he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post.
He said to him, “Follow me.”
And he got up and followed him.
While he was at table in his house,
many tax collectors and sinners came
and sat with Jesus and his disciples.
The Pharisees saw this and said to his disciples,
“Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
    He heard this and said,
“Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.
Go and learn the meaning of the words,
    I desire mercy, not sacrifice.
I did not come to call the righteous but sinners
    .”

Notice three things from this Gospel about the relationship of mercy to sin.

    I. In His mercy, Jesus reckons us as sinners and regards us as sick. Jesus states plainly, “I have come to call sinners” (this means us). He also says that those who are well do not need a doctor, but the sick do (this means us).

We live in times when many have been deceived; they call their sin good and something to be proud of. They say, “God made me this way,” or “God likes me just the way I am.” No, to those such as these the Lord Jesus says, “You are sick. You are a sinner.” An antiphon in the Breviary says, God sees all men as sinners, that he might show them his mercy.

So in His mercy Jesus does not overlook sin or call it something good; he calls it what it is: sin and sickness.

II. In His mercy, Jesus summons us to change. In this Gospel, Jesus calls Matthew away from His tax post. He says, “Follow me.” The translation is “Stop what you are doing, come away from it, and follow me out of here.” To the woman caught in adultery He says, “Do not sin again.” Jesus began His ministry by saying, “Repent and believe the Gospel.” To repent (metanoiete) means to change, to come to a new and different mind.

The changes Jesus insists upon are too numerous to list in their entirety, but among them are that we become free of vengeful anger, lust, greed, retaliation, and unforgiveness, and that we become more generous, loving, serene, faithful, and trusting.

Thus in His mercy Jesus does not confirm us in our sin; He summons us away from it. He summons us to change and equips us to do so. His merciful call is, “Come away from here. Enough of this; follow me.”

III. In His mercy, Jesus heals sinners of sin – Jesus uses the image of a doctor and states plainly that sick people (sinners) need a doctor. Jesus is that doctor. A doctor does not look at a sick patient and say, “You’re just fine the way you are” or “I affirm you.” That would be malpractice. Jesus sees sin for what it is. He calls it such and prescribes the necessary medicines. He will also likely speak to a person’s lifestyle and recommend needed changes. This is how a doctor heals.

Jesus invokes the image of a doctor for what he does. He diagnoses and says, “This is bad. This is sickness. This is sin.” He then applies healing remedies such as the Sacraments, the Holy Liturgy, His Word, the carrying of the cross, active and passive purifications, punishments due to sin, solid moral teaching, and holy fellowship. Like a doctor, Jesus summons us from a bad and unhealthy life to a good and healthy one.

Thus, in his mercy Jesus heals our sins. He does not ignore them or approve them and certainly does not call them good or something to celebrate. In his mercy he heals them, he ends them.

So mercy is not a bland kindness. It is not mere flattery that pretends sin does not exist or matter. Beware of fake, flattering mercy. True mercy says, “Sin is awful. Let’s get out of here and go to a far better place.”

Matthew got up and followed Jesus. How about us?

lest you be judged as harshly as you judge the Vicar of Christ !

Amen, brother. I copy it again as this is so very very important. Those blinded by evil now who stand accusing the Vicar of Christ are doing great harm to their souls, as they also are misleading impressionable people who are reading their words.

Pray, brothers and sisters, for the intercession of Saint Michael to lift the veil from their eyes and protect them from the attack of the evil one

    St. Michael the Archangel,
    defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
    and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
    by the power of God,
    thrust into hell Satan,
    and all the evil spirits,
    who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
