    Truly, every person will have to account for his life.

    I remember reading a near-death account of a priest. He died and could not enter heaven. All of the people filed past him entering heaven yet he was obstructed. Finally he cried out to God in frustration proclaiming he was his servant. God answered him in a booming voice. You served yourself, not me.

    The warning. We will become judges of ourselves and not others. The people will get the chance of self reflection that the priest had avoided his whole life.

    It was in reference to the image you attached and your comments.

    I believe in Aliens the same way I believe in flying fish. I remember a story told to us in the Marine Corps about "Tell it to the Marines" because the Marines told the truth. This ruler of a country heard about flying fish and asked his Marine because he knew the Marine would be honest.

    I have seen flying fish. Watched them while looking over the bow of a large military ship. They were bigger than I thought they'd be and I was amazed by how long they sailed on the air at the bow of the ship. Like a seagull or something. I personally saw it and could not deny it. Same with aliens.

    Satan is 'prince of the power of the air', defined by the Fathers and many theologians as that dimension that exists above the world and below the region of Heaven. It is populated by demons. If one meets something claiming to be from a distant planet and announcing that he is coming in peace, beware he isn't one of those demons.

    I believe Aliens may exist. Why not?

    However I doubt the wisdom of discussing the issue on a Catholic forum because of theological issues leading us to go round and round in pointless circles.

    This does not mean I am entering into Judgement of you as a person, just the Wisdom of continuing the discussion in its present context. I am sorry if I have, somehow, not been clear on this.

    As to you having been in contact with Aliens...well. I wonder if you might be better discussing this further for Counselling assist with a Professional in the Health Field. :)

    He or she may be able to provide theraputic assistance in this matter. Again I am not Judging you as a person on this, just that you may need help and it would be negligent of me not to point this out..

    This is of course entirely a matter for your good self. I wish you all the best in whatever further intergalactic adventures which may transpire to you in the Mission of Life.

    May the Force be with you. Live long and prosper.:):)

    I have doubt whether God has set a limit to the expansion of human scientific reach (such as curing certain diseases and colonizing other planets) in order to stop human presumption and instill in us the holy fear of his law (because of our finite condition).

    Maybe there are limits on what we can do that are set by ourselves, by our own spiritual progress.

    I heard a story one time about an Oncologist (a Cancer Specialist) in a hospital in which I worked. He regularly had to notify people that there cancer was terminal and their prognosis, an estimation of how long they had to live. He did this in his office in a face to face. When the secretaries and nurses knew he was at this they used to wait outside as the poor people who got the news came out in a terrible state. The Doctor was very brusque in his manner and barked out the news like a drill sergeant. The ladies tried to sooth things over with a cup of coffee, a chat and loads of sympathy as the poor people were in a state of nervous collapse.

    But I think that Doctor was a very bad example of modern methods of treatment. He was locked into the material and was not open to spiritual and psyche doorways. I think God has left us abilities, roads we can go down by by means of prayer, if only we have Faith.

    But the problem is we don't have Faith. We simply tell the poor people they are going to die and that's that.

    I think there is meant to be much, much more than that..

    One day, I hope, the good Lord will show us ways to open those doors.

    It's the same deal with other Sciences too, I believe.

    James 5:14

    The Prayer of Faith
    13Is any one of you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praises. 14Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. The Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.…

    I heard of a study they did in Canada years ago. They took a load of people who were coming to the clinic with serious illnesses. Half got the regular treatment. The other half got the regular treatment plus they had a number of large prayer groups praying for them. The group with the prayer assist did very significantly better than the group that did not.

    Sr Bridge McKenna gave a wonderful witness this week on Women of Grace to the power of prayers--especially prayer in the presence of the Holy Eucharist. She says she no longer prays over people. She lets Jesus do it through the Holy Eucharist. Amazing faith building interview.

    I love Sister Briege. She is known all over the World. She has met Popes, Cardinals and Bishops galore. World famous. A titanic miracle worker. A towering mystic. She is as down to Earth as Bread and Cheese. A truly adamantine humility. It is built twenty stories under the ground. I can see why God choose her; she is a totally safe bet. A real country woman ; I can see her just out milking the cows and feeding the chickens and loving it.:):)

    I heard a wonderful story about her. There was a certain Abbot I know who I suspect of being rather full of airs and graces. Though he had a reputation of being rather wonderful , I suspect he was rather too aware of the fact; if you know what I mean. Anyway Sr Briege was coming to visit the Monastery and he got very excited and went out to greet her with all the bells books and candles in full rig out and a magnificent formal speech all ready.

    But when the car drew up the nun got out rushed past him saying loudly,

    'I need to do a pee! Where's the toilet?'

    Leaving the Abbot crushed and broken.

    I am convinced this was the action of the Holy Spirit; it was just what the guy needed. His balloon burst.

    I said life.
    Not necessarily intelligent life.there is a difference.
    But this place, this universe I think has to be teeming with life.
    My 2 cents worth.

    God has given us prophets, Enoch and Elijah were taken up to heaven, they did not die. He sent and sacrificed his Son, who the grave could not contain and sits at the right hand side if of the father.

    Jesus was full of love, mercy and compassion for absolutely everyone. He feed the hungry, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, called the dead back to life, sat and eat with outsiders, His was a life of extraordinary love and sacrifice, and right there was the blueprint. He points us to the way.

    Luke 17:6-7
    He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.

    Thomas Edison the American inventor said "I am proud of the fact that I never invented weapons to kill." He stated: "Nonviolence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution."

    “I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence;
    I possess knowledge and discretion
    To fear the Lord is to hate evil;…..

    “Now then, my children, listen to me;
    blessed are those who keep my ways.
    Listen to my instruction and be wise;
    do not disregard it. (Proverbs 8)

    Best preach it to ourselves first! And, as C.S. Lewis pointed out, the aliens might not be fallen creatures and would have no need of the Gospel.

    Many of those who push for the notion that there's Life on other planets, do so in a failed attempt to undermine Sacred Scriptures.

    As if in their thinking? Life on other planets disprove God's Existence.

    Do they believe that there's Life in Heaven?

    The real intention of the atheists among them is to diminish the importance of that being made 'in the Image of God'. I seem to remember a story of a certain (fallen) angelic being showing signs of envy of this state of affairs.
