Idk if this is coincidental but lets just say that I’ve had issues in the past while I’m sleeping that even prompted me to have a priest come and do a special blessing in my room. Just last night I had the strangest compulsion to purchase and hang a large crucifix above my bed. Right now I have a beautiful picture of Jesus with the disciples on the road to Emmaus. Maybe my guardian angel is prompting me for something where I will need more protection

Well I have a St Benedict cross over my bed. And Holy water on my nightstand. And my rosary right next to me as I sleep so I think a blessed cross over your bed is a great idea.(y)

I recall reading an article some years ago about an exorcism that occurred in a prison. It was done with the permission of the warden, because of the behavior of the person.

The people "in such places" must be able to give their permission to be exorcised. It's only with the cooperation of the possessed that the demon(s) can be delivered.

I'm reminded of the experience of a group of people (non-Catholic) involved in a "Christian deliverance ministry". These types of ministries are not forbidden by the Catholic Church, as we are permitted to pray for and encourage those experiencing spiritual suffering.

This group lived in a city that housed a large state prison, and every time the group drove past it, they all felt the presence of evil emanating from the place, to the point where some of them felt physically ill. At some point, one of the members got the idea to have the group pray deliverance prayers "over" the prison to drive away the evil. They all agreed, and began regularly to pray for the deliverance of the prison.

It took less than a year for them to see results. By the end of that year, two of the couples had gotten divorced, and one other member was experiencing chronic debilitating health problems such that his doctors could not determine the cause. The reason for this smackdown (from a Catholic point of view) was not their faith or lack thereof, it was because the did not have the authority to command, in the Name of Jesus, for the demons to leave the prison. A similar event with a different outcome happened a couple of years ago in Illinois. Four priests got permission from the bishop to do an exorcism of a place, namely, a rather notorious abortion mill. Each priest stood at one of the corners of the property and conducted the exorcism. Less than two months later, the place permanently closed. The priests, you see, had been granted the authority by the bishop to do this.

You are right! Fr Ripperger said the same thing. Demons are lawyers from hell according to him. Legalistic to the nth degree. If you are out of your lane so to speak without authority from the bishop you will be sitting duck's. Such a sad story for those well minded individuals who meant to help.
