This is what Jesus told Sister Josepha in The Way of Divine Love. She was very frightened of the devil deceiving her and Jesus said to ask the apparition to revite with you the Divine Praises. I filed that away in my memory in case I might need it some day. ( I frequently pray the Divine Praises on and off during the day anyway:). ) hopefully I won't need it to discern a spirit:eek:

So well said. It makes sense that the enemy would try to keep them far away from Our Lady. Tragic really.

I don't know if anyone has read the book 'Devil in the City of Angels' by Jesse Romero but he reports that, when employed guarding the most violent prisoners as a Corrections Officer some of whom claimed to be Satanists, he recalled the words of St. Paul that anyone who says 'Jesus is Lord' is speaking by the Holy Spirit. So he offered three prisoners who all claimed to be devoted to Satan a delicious meal from the CO's mess rather than the slop that the prison served to inmates, if they would just say those words, and they all happily accepted the challenge. All of them tried but none of them succeeded being choked by an unseen hand when they tried to get the words out. His colleagues were 'freaked out' (as were the prisoners).

This priest was a huge devotee of Sr. Josepha and said that her book was required reading in the seminary. He also said that many priestly vocations were born after reading The Way of Divine Love. So humble and obedient!

Thank you for telling me this. That book--next to the scriptures has been the single most powerful spiritual book i ever read. It is a book i return to again and again. Tan books sells it. It is so worth owning. God bless that priest!! Sister Josepha's victim soul mission was for priests and religious.

Its a wonderful book. You can find Jesse on line on you tube and also at Jesus 911 on the Virgin Most Powerful radio site. That story was SO powerful.

Some time ago, interviews with Jesse Romero were linked here in the forum. I always found this very exciting.
In one of them he spoke to Dr Taylor Marshall about his book "The Devil in the City of Angels".
Jesse had many encounters with possessed people as a police officer.
As a prison warden he read criminal records of murderers and found that almost all of them had been involved in occult practices. And Jesse impressively told how he found out that it was impossible for the possessed criminals to say the phrase – Jesus is Lord.

It is very common that when a priest visits a prison for the criminally insane that they react violently towards him, most especially if he carries the Eucharist.

Yes, and a prison chaplain told me such persons react fearfully to a crucifix as well!:barefoot:

    Safe in the Sacred Heart!

I sometimes think those old films about Vampires aren't so far off the mark.

You know the original Count Dracula book was written by an Irish woman and in it they used the Eucharist to repell the Vampires .

How many of those in such places are possessed and could be set free by exorcism? What a tragedy.

These days I always wear my St Benedicts Cross outside my t shirt, if people don't like it too bad

My angel Guardian explained to me it is far more powerful when not hidden.

People, even evil people, will have a certain respect for us for standing up for what we believe.

They will only have contempt for us if we try to water things down on their behalf .
