Our deacon gave a beautiful homily about St Faustina. He said that when Karol Wojtyla was a young man he walked to work in Krakow, right past Sister Faustina’s convent. He said there was no evidence that they ever met. Still, that fact is astounding to me.
This has been a very interesting read. The Byzantine Rite doesn't observe Divine Mercy Sunday. The Sunday after Easter is, for us, Thomas Sunday. Now, with that said, it seems to me that the Divine Sunday plenary indulgence is essentially the same plenary indulgence one receives from receiving sacramental confession, communion, five decades of the Rosary, and a prayer for the Pope's intention. Is there some unique characteristic attached to the Divine Sunday indulgence compared to the more typical plenary indulgences? m.
