Yep, if he has to resort to ad hominem attacks it weakens his position. If he wants to show Dr Marshall to be a liar he'd be better served to say things like "Here's what Taylor said and here's why it's incorrect". I've seen the same logical fallacy used by individuals attempting to refute the sedevacantists. Instead of calmly pointing out the errors in the sede's statements they just write them off as lunatics. It's much more convincing to spell out how the Dimond brothers misinterpret Quo Primum then it is to just say they're a couple of cranks.
