I do the same sterph. I have never considered them saints, but these souls are closer to God than we are. I don't believe there is anything wrong in asking for their prayers.

Yes, I think if the Communion of the Saints is to be real we have to allow ourselves to Commune.

Yes, they can pray for us but do nothing to help themselves advance toward Heaven.

I may have posted this old hymn for the Holy Souls previously but no harm to repeat.

“They are waiting for our petitions silent and calm
Their lips no prayer can utter, no suppliant psalm.
we have made them all too weary with long delay
For the souls in their still agony, good christian pray.
Requiescant in pace, requiescant in Pace.

For the soul thou holdest dearest let prayers arise
The voice of love is mighty and will pierce the skies.
Waste not in selfish weeping one precious day
But speeding thy love to heaven, good christian pray.
Requiescant in pace, requiescant in Pace.

For the soul by all forgotten, even its own,
By its nearest and its dearest, left all alone,
Whisper a "De profundis", or gently lay
Alms in some beggar's outstretched palm, good christian pray.
Requiescant in pace, requiescant in Pace.

For the soul that is nearest heaven that sees the gate,
Now ajar and the light within and yet must wait,
Ere the angels come to convey it in bright array
For the eager soul so near to joy, good christian pray.
Requiescant in pace, requiescant in Pace.

The soul that most loved Our Lady, for Our Lady's love,
Speed with thy supplication to its home above,
And our Mother in benediction, her hand will lay
Tenderly on thy bowed-down head, good christian pray.
Requiescant in pace, requiescant in Pace.

For the love of the Heart of Jesus, they love it too,
By all the sweet affections that once they knew,
As thou hopest in thy utomost need to find thy stay
In the prayers of those who loved thee once, good christian pray.
Requiescant in pace, requiescant in Pace.

Our loving lips can cry aloud the pleading word
Through all that silent kingdom unknown, unheard.
O canst thou turn from their bitter want coldly away
Kneel humbly at the altar's foot, christian, and pray.
Requiescant in pace, requiescant in Pace.”

As someone once wrote ,we may often be ungrateful but the Holy Souls are never ever ungrateful, they always do pay back.

It would be lovely when we die if the very first thing we saw ,when we opened our eyes , we first saw a football crowd of Holy Souls there to thank us.

It's lovely to report , when there is so much bad news elsewhere continuing very positive reports about Mother Wilhelmina.

For instance the nuns who lived with her report that they are not totally surprised that this happened as she was regarded as a saint by the nuns who lived with her. Just as no man is a hero to his valet no nun would be regarded as a saint by her fellow nuns , especially in an enclosed community , it it were not so. They see every wart and wrinkle close up day by day.

Another good thing is that her monastery is brim full of 40 women, so full that they cannot take any more entering. These are mostly very young, in their early twenties and the Abbess herself is only in her early thirties. So remarkable when everyelse is burning and dying.

They are hoping to open a new monastery in Lower Missouri.

So all good, good good and great A+

Wilhelmina 's parents were remarkably God Catholics, there are reports they were directly involved in over 100 conversions to the Faith.

There is a lovely story about Wilhelmina going home on holiday after her father died wearing the new post Vatican2 habit. Her mother was horrified and shocked by this and told her daughter in no uncertain terms how ashamed she was of her and that she was glad her father was not alive to see this.

This was Wilhelmina's Red Pill moment.

Wilhelmina s mother had her own red pill moment. The local Parish Priest asked her to organise Black Gospel music at Church and she did so. But she soon realised it did not go with the Liturgy and is was dropped.

    Wise old lady.

The big, big takeaway from all this is how very, very attractive Wilhelmina and the path she took is to young people and non Catholics. They are drawn to her like bees to honey.

There is a big, big lesson to those in charge in the Church in all this. But they seem to be still caught up in some kind of 1960's youth revolution thing. Hypnotised by events that took place 60 years ago. Wishing to be Chaplains to the Secular World. But it won't work, hasn't worked and will never work.

Often bending over backwards to please people simply causes you to fall over on your face.

A short video by photo journalist Karen Pulfer Focht who has made several visits to the convent over the years. This one which she made very recently also includes some of an audio interview with Sister Wilhelmina ftom 2016. It's wonderful to be able to hear her speak about her encounter with the Lord at communion when she was a young girl.
