I might add that I often heard whispers from my Irish grandmother that her cousins and own children were "taking the pledge".....I had no idea what that meant until I read this book. When you shake my family tree, alcoholics fall out everywhere and who is left is destroyed by the wake of it.
I didn't know that Matt's remains were kept in a Church. I might pay a visit next time I'm in the city. It should be perfectly safe in the day time.
We need him more than ever. Bl. Matt Talbot is one of my favorite Saints! I have a daughter who was in a coma from a heroin overdose and she started responding finally june 11 2016. She is doing great and no longer drinking or taking drugs. I attribute this to his intercession
