One of the things that turned me away from Protestantism was that Luther claimed the authority of a council by rejecting the apostolic authority of the letter of James.
St James reminds me of the priests when I was young . Fire and brimstone . He actually believed in what he was talking about and knew what he talking about and was never afraid to say it Whe St James talked folks listened. He was like a walking talking electric shock . He reminds me of Padre Pio How Jesus must have loved him
They are doing even worse today. They are rejecting St Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles because he called out Sexual Perversion and Perverts
Everywhere sexual Perversion is mentioned in Scripture it is condemned in the most dire terms Everywhere without exception. Nowhere is it encouraged Fire and brimstone
..and all other kinds of sexual immorality The Bible is totally ruthless about these things .Totally, totally ruthless
I was thinking about the theme of the highlight above, Padraig. In Catholic circles there is now much stress on not attempting to convert Jews because God established the Old Covenant with them, and we should respect that. From the 1st reading of this Sunday's Holy Mass: When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and with violent abuse contradicted what Paul said. Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles."
I love the way at this time of the year the Church takes us way back to the time when she was just starting out, like a little tiny baby taking her first faltering steps. One thing about those wonderful women and men (and children too) was that they so clearly believed very, very strong indeed. How to do we know this? Because they were prepared to suffer and die for it. No one would lay down their lives for something unless they believed in it with their whole hearts and souls. They went to prison for it, they were tortured for it, they shed their life's blood for it. Now the time for our persecution the greatest in history of the world rolls darkly towards us may we prove as true and steadfast as they did. This will solve all the problems of heresy and confusion right in the one go. The heretical and the lukewarm will flee from the Church like snow on a ditch. Then like the Phoenix from the ashes the Church will rise again renewed and reborn. Alleluia!
I wonder, when the Great Persecution really gets started how many Catholics will stand by the Faith and Walk with Christ? If it were to be clearly black and white I think a whole lot would stand firm. The problem is that there is a false Church being formed that will not be persecuted and which Governments will actually praise and encourage rather than actually kill or imprison. So I think most Catholics will go with the False Church were they can pretend they are still Catholics. While not having to suffer any pain.
Amazing photo on your news clip. It used to be that abortion was suppose to be a regrettable, but compassionate response to getting pregnant out of wedlock. Now it is ESSENTIAL!
Not only essential but looked at as actually praiseworthy. So that if a person has had ,say five abortions she is higher up the totem pole than someone who has only had two. I think St Paul mentions this somewhere, that people were actually boasting of things that they should be most ashamed of. I even notice it recently ,even in the way they dress. It is to be provocative, a badge of their wickedness. Have you ever listened to Kristan Hawkins? She is truly marvellous. Romans 1:30 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful. They invent new forms of evil; they disobey their parents. 31They are senseless, faithless, heartless, merciless.…
