    My wife and I were blessed to attend a talk this past Friday by Dr Scott Hahn. (Will post this in another thread). It took place at St. Joseph Seminary in NY…. we were able to visit before the talk and to our surprise when we entered the chapel we found this relic of St. Therese which we venerated and included the intentions of this Forum and it’s members.

    There are 15 stanzas in this poem by Therese (translated by Alan Bancroft): Living by Love

    Stanza 6

    Living by love means banishing all fear-
    All glancing-back to faults of earlier day:
    Of my past sins I see no imprint here,
    Love in a trice has burnt them all away!
    O Sacred Fire! O Furnance-flames' caress!
    Here, in your home, I stay and will not move;
    Singing, by your hearth-blaze in restfulness"
    'I live my love by Love!"...

    For Therese, Love is the burner-away of the dross of sin, leaving absolutely no trace, even obliterating any prospect for Purgatory.

    Perhaps this is the difference between my sister and myself: Therese views her shared Love with Christ ("I live my love by Love!") as one whereas, I too easily view mine as imperfect and separate from His!

    Unite my heart with Yours, Lord Jesus, that together we may form one channel of love!

    As do most on their Journey with Christ..as if we are still hiding in the tree with Adam.
