As watchers, we should pray that more and more EWTN and the clergy, for them to believe and or desire to read past private revelation given to the saints AND the current daily messages from Heaven. Last week in an audio snippet of Mother Angelica played on EWTN radio, Mother Angelica in her humorous way was talking about knowing ourselves and how we are surprised when someone points out our failings. Then, Mother said, the mystics hear of the Warning, there will be an NDE like experience for everyone, we will see ourselves. To hear this put out there, very good for many, many Catholics do not know of the Warning. Related.... Fifteen minutes later on EWTN radio, during Father Mitch Pacwa's hour (love Father Mtich), a caller asked about the 3 Days of Darkness. Father Mitch said, I do not know, find a source. Adding, he wasn't sure Padre Pio had truly heard of it as some believe. Then the caller asks, how about revelation in the book on Divine Mercy? Father repeated, I don't know. The caller ends with, this 3 days of darkness must be "mumbo jumbo." I should write Father Pacwa with quotes from mystics, saints of the past on the 3 days of darkness.
I am convinced that very few priest, bishops, cardinals, religious or laity have done much studying or research into Catholic prophecy. They neither have the time or the interest to do so. I don't know why, but I know so very few Catholics who have a clue about apparitions, locutions, incorruptibles, stigmatists, mystics, Eucharistic miracles. They haven't a clue what heaven has been doing to get our attention for the past few centuries.
Yes Fatima, frustrating, If only Jesus' priest sons would read the daily messages. They would know of the sequence of divine events to happen and would be reminded every day of their own (like no other) value. When I see a priest these days, I wonder what are they thinking about, do they realize? I try to pray more for them. Yahoo Groups - Seers 2 and http://www.afterthewarning.com/ and here at MOG. I looked for a direct contact for Father Mitch, to send him quotes about the 3 Days of Darkness, couldn't find an address. "We regret that we cannot forward emails along to Fr. Pacwa or make any of his contact information public. It’s an unfortunate consequence of his high profile and heavy workload. If you have a general theological question, we don’t want to leave it unanswered. We invite you to visit newadvent.org or the Catholic Q & A section of ewtn.com" ... Then today, I watched a Michael Voris Vortex (New York Doubles) about the homosexual and heterosexual secret life of priests in the New York diocese, oh how much worse things are! Pray for Cardinal Dolan, these priests and EWTN needs to end their connection with Cardinal Dolan. How come EWTN ignored his public going against Our Lord's teachings? http://www.churchmilitant.com/video/episode/new-york-doubles Maybe, the answer is to find a FSSP parish but not everybody can attend one.
I think when you read the lives of the Saints down the centuries, time and time again the enemies that Satan has raised up against them, I mean the main enemies have not come from without the Church but from within the Church , from the Clergy themselves. These has always been both good and bad the present day is no exception. I think this should come as no surprise to us as everyone including nuns, priests , Bishops Cardinals and Popes have a choice to follow either good or evil. When I was younger I was very innocent in a bad kind of way and assumed that every priest and nun I ever met was holy , good even starry eyed as I was a probable saint. But its not so of course , nor was it ever so. In fact there is a Dictum of the Spiritual Life that when the good turns it become bad and when the very good turns it becomes very bad. So a bad priest or nun is far, far worse than a bad layperson. In fact in my opinion when a priest turns bad he becomes invariably possessed. But I think bad clergy are possessed by a particulr kind of demon that specialises in deceit, with smarmy smiles and nods. So deceitful in fact that the bad priest or nun is themselves decieved. But on the other hand to meet a really good and holy priest is a sheer delight.
I heard that same broadcast Jackie and wanted to call in instantly and challenge father Mitch. I feel the 3 days is all over scripture just not in plain site in all places other than Exodus or the parallels in Jonah not to mention what Mystics have said. Joel 2: [31] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood: before the great and dreadful day of the Lord doth come. [32] And it shall come to pass, that every one that shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved: for in mount Sion, and in Jerusalem shall be salvation, as the Lord hath said, and in the residue whom the Lord shall call. Isaiah 60: [1] Arise, be enlightened, O Jerusalem: for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. [2] For behold darkness shall cover the earth, and a mist the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. [3] And the Gentiles shall walk in thy light, and kings in the brightness of thy rising. [4] Lift up thy eyes round about, and see: all these are gathered together, they are come to thee: thy sons shall come from afar, and thy daughters shall rise up at thy side. [5] Then shalt thou see, and abound, and thy heart shall wonder and be enlarged, when the multitude of the sea shall be converted to thee, the. strength of the Gentiles shall come to thee. Amos 5: [16] Therefore thus saith the Lord the God of hosts the sovereign Lord: In every street there shall be wailing: and in all places that are without, they shall say: Alas, alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skillful in lamentation to lament. [17] And in all vineyards there shall be wailing: because I will pass through in the midst of thee, saith the Lord. [18] Woe to them that desire the day of the Lord: to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light. [19] As if a man should flee from the face of a lion, and a bear should meet him: or enter into the house, and lean with his hand upon the wall, and a serpent should bite him. [20] Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light: and obscurity, and no brightness in it? Amos 8; 8] Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein: and rise up altogether as a river, and be cast out, and run down as the river of Egypt?[9] And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that the sun shall go down at midday, and I will make the earth dark in the day of light: [10] And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation: and I will bring up sackcloth upon every back of yours, and baldness upon every head: and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the latter end thereof as a bitter day. Hosea 6: [1] In their affliction they will rise early to me: Come, and let us return to the Lord: [2] For he hath taken us, and he will heal us: he will strike, and he will cure us. [3] He will revive us after two days: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. We shall know, and we shall follow on, that we may know the Lord. His going forth is prepared as the morning light, and he will come to us as the early and the latter rain to the earth. Mathew 24: [29] And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved: [30] And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all tribes of the earth mourn: and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with much power and majest. Revelation: [12] And I saw, when he had opened the sixth seal, and behold there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair: and the whole moon became as blood: [13] And the stars from heaven fell upon the earth, as the fig tree casteth its green figs when it is shaken by a great wind: [14] And the heaven departed as a book folded up: and every mountain, and the islands were moved out of their places. [15] And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and tribunes, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of mountains: [16] And they say to the mountains and the rocks: Fall upon us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth upon the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb: [17] For the great day of their wrath is come, and who shall be able to stand?
Regarding EWTN, I believe since Fr. Carapi's downfall, they are extra, extra cautious about discussing unapproved prophecy or apparitions. On Mother Angelica classics, she used to talk about the warning, Garabandal, and the Medjugorje messages. But I feel they got burned in giving Fr. Carapi his own show and their platform to preach, and then he fell very hard as we know. Since then, I don't think they will go out on a limb for anyone prophecy or apparition.
Generally I think the more a person gives himself to the spiritual path of prayer the more open they are to the mystical. On the other hand the more that a person gives thems elves to the Spirit of this World the less able they are able to see or experience the doorways that elad to the next. The less aware they are that only a very thin veil separates us from Eternity. In all great spiritual enterprises such as , say, the Franciscans or the Benedictines we see great graces with the charisms of the founder. But once the founder dies or goes the Spirit of this World assials the enterpise and more and more the Spirit of this World seeps in. So the Holy Spirit is forced to renew itself by constantly seeting forth new fountains of grace, ever anew. It was inevitable when a great saint like Mother Angelica left the stage that there was going to be a dimming of the Light she gave. It is quite literally the Way of the World View attachment 4532
This has a lot to do with the schizophrenic attitude of much of Western Christianity towards the supernatural which is to a large degree a result of a long-term loss of nerve when faced with the rise of the modern scientific project. At the risk of over-simplification, basically theologians have been running scared of the 'miraculous' since the Enlightenment and the critiques of Hume and Voltaire: the churches spawned by the Reformation were the first to capitulate, but the line of thought that says 'modernize or die' has also deeply affected Catholicism for more than a hundred years now. What we now seem to have is a complete disconnect between the official teaching of the Magisterium, which formally affirms the existence of the full gamut of supernatural/mystical phenomena, and academic theology which treats the whole field as a taboo and simply refuses to discuss it. The result is that very many people simply don't know what to make of it all. The incoherence of this situation strikes at the very heart of the nature of the Biblical record itself, a huge proportion of which is essentially based on private revelation in both Testaments, supported by supernatural phenomena (as discerned by the People of God, of course) going all the way from the Patriarchs and Prophets through to Paul and the Book of Revelation. It is surely difficult to deny that speaking to individuals - most of them complete nobodies in the eyes of the world - is one of God's favoured methods of communication with humanity. But we're incredibly resistant to it...
I concur what you have written. Sadly enough, we get a good glimpse of how the clergy feel towards the mystical right here on MOG. There are not a few forum members who have little/no time for prophecy or living in the Divine Will discussions, which scripture clearly teaches to not despise. Yet these same people will spend endless amounts of research and discussion/arguments in the political arena of ideas, as if their whole life depends on who is running a country. I think this is part of the diabolical disorientation Lucia said would take place. The political world has never solved or resolved moral issues, which has brought about our Babylon moment. Rather it has caused the decadence we are now experiencing world wide, which prophecy is screaming about so loudly.
I have listened to Father Corapi in person more than once. I have watched him on TV many times. I do not recall him speaking on prophecy or apparitions once. He was a black and white catechetical preacher from what I recall. His CD's were the same. So I don't see him as being the reason EWTN has not continued the discussions as Mother Angelica did. I just simply think that most do not want to put the study and prayer into the prophetic world, lest they are scorned by their peers.
Wow! Ditto Andy3. You learn something every time Father Mitch is talking and here he is in the dark about the prophetic. Our Lord's consecrated ones should be running toward private revelation. I wish we could call them all, ha, share what has been revealed, it would strengthen them. It would give them joy. Thanks for the Scripture to confirm. Our Lady to Light of Mary February 28, 2016 REVELATION IS GIVEN TO MAN AS KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT MAN WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO LEARN AHEAD OF TIME, AND IT IS GIVEN TO MAN IN ORDER FOR HIM TO GET PREPARED, NOT ONLY IN THE PHYSICAL PLANE, BUT ALSO IN THE SPIRIT.
PotatoSack, we wish and pray. Do you think Colin Donovan of EWTN is coming around? This is not new but .... http://www.ewtn.com/expert/answers/garabandal.htm EWTN has to hire someone to speak out, who will be for the messages, like Mother Angelica.
I think too some people hace a hard time coping with some of the , 'Hard Edge', messages that came from places like Fatima and Akita. They can take the smooth stuff but the grimmer stuff they do not know quite what to do with. I mean messages and visions that point to hell, deep purgatory, the consequ3ences of sin, the reality of evil and the devil, Eteranal Damnation, God's Justice and so on .For some reason the lights go off in many clergy 's eyes when these topics come up. You can see the lights switching off behind their eyes and a neon sign flickering on their forheads saying, 'Maniac///Maniac....dealing with a maniac....must rush off....avoid in the future..mad...ect..ect.ect.... Pity the poor soul who comes near them for Exorcism, for instance. Blank stare and eye rolling.
This speaks to me Lynn, as I see Our Lord's passion repeating itself. Along those lines of history, I noted that Pope Francis just passed the three year mark of his pontificate and I wonder if this isn't another sign that things will continue to accelerate.
It was 1983 when I heard the tapes from Frances swank. On one of the tapes, she said; I saw lightning, and the lightning was the voice of God going throughout the world, seeking out the evil people who were hiding in caves and destroying them. I didn't understand it then ( hiding in caves ) but now I read about rich people making all these underground shelters and stocking them with food and water to escape the things that are to come.
Hi Bob, I have not heard of her .. But I have heard of the many underground establishments. yet, we know, no one, can hide away from Our Lord and King. Peace be with you
Yes, I have seen a couple of videos regarding Garabandal in which Mother Angelica was strongly assuring she would be announcing when the Warning, etc are about to occur. She certainly was on board. It sure is too bad EWTN and other mainstream sources are silent on these events. You would think they'd be shouting from roof tops to people to get ready. As is, we have to be super careful who (outside this forum) we share information. Yesterday I shared an article with someone at my church. We were discussing Medjugorje and she made comment on wishing she knew more about that and perhaps why that is silent much less more about it at all. Hopefully there will be much more conversation there.
Perhaps the general consensus is, "if it's not officially approved, then it's not worth my time thinking about." There is only 1 way these grace-filled experiences will be approved, OK maybe 2; study, personal experience and certainly when the Warning occurs, they will need all of us to explain what just happened.... It also appears from the passages offered by Andy3, that the 3 days could be SHORTLY (3.5 years?)after the Warning. That is entirely possible and hopeful.
