I was still trying to reply to Joe Croziers question on places of refuge and whereabouts in the world they might be. I am slow but sure, I will get there. But it seems to me before answering this Our Lady was pointing me first in the direction of the wider question of whether or not place of refuge really exist, of the bottom line being is it not better to trust in the Lord and remiaing were we are at our place and trusting in Him for support. Is fleeing to refuges not running away? Does it not show a lack of trust a kiind of loss of spiritual peace? An inner panic? I think the answer to these questions, prayerfully lie in three key episodes in the Life of the Mother of God. 1. Revelation 12:6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
The key teaching for us who are entering into the fullness of the Chastisement must surely be , if we are asked to flee we must flee and that we may indeed by asked to flee. But we must tread carefully between two rocks. That of presumption by refusing to flee , thus recommiting the offense of Lot's wife who was turned in to a pillar of salt and the other rock that of lack of trust and getting ourselves into a blind panic.

If I could ask just one question... It would be about the nature of the warning and miracle and whether enough people would convert and see the truth. Maybe it would prevent the Chastisement. But I'm afraid the world is too far gone into evil.
I can't even begin to imagine my spouse forbidding me to do something unless it was a huge financial undertaking. That being said I can only respond that the marriage vow is sacred and holy and obedience to one another takes precedence. God certainly knows your situation and I would tell God that if you want this then He'll have to open your spouses heart and mind to what He is asking you to do. Just like obedience to the Church comes first so does our spouse. I'll pray for you and your situation. God Bless!
Bernadette's answer is perfect. I have never married myself so many things are a mystery to me. Bit I often been touched by reading the posts of married people about situations in the married state, so much prayerful wisdom and experience. The Holy Spirit speaking. I would suppose many, many married people will experience things like this as the Storm deepens.
Back to Joe's question about where in the world would be most safe during the Fullness of the Tribulation ? Where are these Refuges? I guess the simplest and best answer is the safest and best place for us to be is the place were God leads us. I suspect that the people who will fail most will be the people who prepare the most. But that I mean , people who rely on their own abilities and resources. If I was stuck and did not know where to go , though the first palce I would turn to would be a Marian Apparition site, the next a Catholic religious institution of place of pilgrimage. However my sense of things is that God will fill our wings with Wind so we might fly.
Funny Miriam ,as soon as I read your question I recalled a story I heard about the young Jesuit saint John Berchmans. Apparently John was shooting pool with some of the other young Jesuits when one of them asked St John the question, 'If you were told , John that the world was to end tomorrow, what would you do?' To which John simply replied , 'I would carry on doing what I am doing now'. This is a decpetively simple answer. I think what St John meant is, if we are doing what God wants us to do , we shouldn't neeed to change for anything. So I think the simple answer as to how to prepare spiritually for the Storm is to continue to do what we should be doing now, in other words simply be good Catholics and do our duty. Like St John Berchmans we would continue to shoot pool.
Though you know St John is not the only saint to give such an answer. I must admit I would personally take a differing tack. If someone were to tell me I were to die tomorrow I would head right away to pray in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I have always found such peace there , such an ocean of peace in such a stormy world. I have never ever gone to pray in fromt of the Blessed Sacrament and not come out ten times more happy and at peace than when I went in. I was watching one of them end of the world Sci Fi films the other day and it showed the Faithful in their millions with the Pope in St Peter's Square whic is fine, but if I had a choice between that and just sitting in frnot of the Blessed Sacrament I would choose the Blessed Sacrament anytime.
Yeah Beth, I think if I died in front of the Blessed Sacrament it would have to be with a smile on my face, for I would be in heaven already.
