Do we need to clarify what Communism is at this point? Particularly in the light of the recent article in The Catholic Thing describing the amazing fact that the Portuguese Communist Party recently voted against euthanasia in the Lisbon parliament, thus preventing its introduction. To my mind, the errors of Russia have now passed on to the so-called 'soft' left and in doing so have become even more evil. This soft, or liberal, left which is dominating in Western democracies is the entity that is pushing atheism, paganism, abortion, euthanasia, homosexual so-called marriage, transsexuality and all the other social evils that threaten our societies. It represents an infernal partnership between multinational corporate capitalism and international finance, on the one hand (which St John Paul warned us about, also) and socialism on the other, the satanic child of Communism and Capitalism, which, as far as I can see, is an even greater threat to mankind than the original Communism. The Communists of old had to take power through the barrel of a gun, whereas people are voluntarily queueing up for the latest poison. Personally, I think that St John Paul II's attempt at consecrating Russia, though incomplete, effected a partially successful result. There was an extraordinary sequence of events that led to the almost entirely peaceful end of Communism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. There was some violence in Romania, but the Ceausescu regime was always somewhat different to the rest of those behind the Iron Curtain, while Yugoslavia was a state very much independant from the Soviet bloc. Sadly, it wasn't enough to protect Russia from the depradations of opportunist multinational vultures who quickly exploited the new republic.
As far as the return of Communism, I think that this prophecy has already occurred but now it is called "Politically Correct" which we often simply refer to as PC. Imo as a result of being "Politically Correct" the world has become more immoral and has lost the sense of sin. Just look at what is happening in the UK in regard to the evil that Tommy Robinson was trying to help expose. This is just one example of course, the same can be said for same sex marriage and homosexuality in general. All of this evil has been pushed on society under the guise of being "Politically Correct". I know that many prophecies state that there will be wars and revolutions but we always have that. In addition, any specifics in prophecy can be changed except for those specifics given in scripture but even those are difficult to figure out. At the very end of my senior year in college, I was taking a class called Collective Behavior and we used a text by Herbert Marcuse. (state-run college, educating teachers) I totally agree with Carol that PC is a part of the false mercy promoted in our Church now, and in our culture as "diversity and tolerance." I just heard on news tv this morning that a county in Maryland (wealthy suburb of DC) is "upgrading" their sex ed curriculum to include more information on transgenderism and more info on birth control. YIKES. (which can be abortifacient, most forms are) Yes, Carol, the reaction from the left is to vilify President Trump, to throw up as many scary lawsuits as possible, to harrass his family, etc etc. Probably Obama and HRC are at the root of these efforts.
