Sorry to hear there is still no word about your cousin, continued prayers. Florida is a beautiful state, but there is a heavy price to pay to live in paradise. My family members stayed through the storm too. They are okay, but what a terrible chance they took. I understand it is not easy to leave your home, but the risk of catastrophic flooding is so high in Florida I would have opted for safety and fled. Who knows, there could possibly be some truth in the bioweather engineering, or something diabolical. At any rate there were some very smug posts on social media suggesting that Gov. Ron DeSantis, and the state of Florida deserved the hurricane. He has done an exceptional job under trying circumstances. Shameful that politics rears it's ugly head in a disaster when so many are suffering. So much hate out there.
Imagine if this were applied more sharply to weaken and confuse the minds of US military leaders at a critical juncture of military escalation with Russia or China.
I just now saw a video of that huge wave on my Weather Channel app. I never saw anything like that before. I think it said 6 people were injured. It was a very powerful freak wave. Very large,
I am happy to report we finally heard. She is fine. She evacuated before the storm hit and is staying with friends. Her car is destroyed but at this point thats minor. Her brother stayed there. He is okay i guess--basically camping out.
I just read on Spirit Daily that today, October 7, is Putin's 70th birthday. It is also the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. I read in the article that Putin is hiding out in a bunker. Apparently, he has more than one bunker. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
I had hoped to get to Mass today but the adoration chapel is closed til further notice. The nuns have covid!!! Our regular parish has canceled Masses for the coming week. No reason given. This is distressing.
I vaguely remember that they have had covid before. Prayers for them. It certainly is distressing that your parish has cancelled Masses for a week. Is the Maronite Church still open? Sad.

My previous post was in explaining the vast difference between Russian and western doctrine regarding first strike policy and trying to be polite regarding DeGaulle's example of "whataboutism." It had no bearing in the context of this thread. Russia in the future will use first nuclear strike in my own opinion. Complaining about American use of the bomb 77 years after that event has taken place does what exactly in the context of this thread regarding Russia's secret weapon???
