I'm still on the hunt for office type work, but I'm well past the point of being choosy. I'm open to any job so long as I have the skills and physical ability it requires.

Finding employment shouldn't be this hard. I'm middle-aged, overweight, and have been out of the workforce as a stay-at-home mom for a lot of years, but I'm not a leper. I've had people look at my resume to see if something was wrong with it. They all thought it looked fine. So why can't I even get an interview? Very frustrated! On the bright side, I was able to write a couple of books while I'm waiting for a door to open .

    Keep praying, please.

Hey Rain, we've been in your position several times in the past two decades. It is so stressful to sell yourself to HR over and over. But God sent us one of his best employment placement representatives-St. Jude.

We had four little ones, a sudden job loss, no health insurance and the saint of the impossible causes seemed perfect. He was a good listener and answered our prayers. (It doesn't hurt to throw in a few "I'm desperate", "I'm on my knees and I'm so tired that someone is going to have to help me up", and then a big "thank you" to put him on the spot".)

We are retired now and you are busy so my husband and I will pray the novena to St. Jude for your intentions. He will reward your trust in prayer, one way or the other.

Maybe im so wrong for saying this, but I don't get why people think they absolutly need two incomes.
    It's overrated.

I'm floored by your generosity. An entire novena, awesome! God bless you.

You are wrong because it implies that my request for prayer stems from excessive materialism rather than genuine need. I'm sorry if I misread your underlying meaning, but that's how I took it.

    More prayers going up, Rain!

My wife, who, like you has been out of the workforce for many years while raising our kids, has also been looking for a job these past few months with little success. I have heard similar sentiments from her!!

I was a bit harsh, and I apologize! I just feel like I'm losing all hope for humanity. Everyone I know are wasteful spenders. All choose to work, stick their children in daycare from sun up to sun down, and buy bigger and bigger houses all for what?
I sympathize with you because it seems you are just trying to make yalls income stretch as far as it can go for as long as possible. So I apologize. Really, im sorry.
Im just having "one of those days"

Rain, have you tried a temp agency? My son who recently graduated from college had no luck finding work so he signed with an agency and was pretty quickly place. The temp job turned into full-time work. If nothing else, it's a resume builder. I'm praying for your success. I know how stressful job-hunting is!

I did some temping right after graduation. It's definitely worth looking into. That's for the prayers.
