A few months ago I found St. Michael's Priory online and requested some Masses to be said. I have received some communication from them off and on since then, but had no idea that their much-needed project is on this grand scale. Thanks for posting. I will donate. Very worthy. And I had no idea at the time that this is Frater Sylvan's location.
My son (bottom right) will be running an obstacle race to help support their seminary costs on Sunday: On January 26th, twelve Norbertine fathers and seminarians will run the Spartan Race in Chino right here in Southern California. Our goal is to raise $30,000 to support the Seminarian Educational Fund. I invite you to help us reach our goal! https://stmichaelsabbey.com/2020SpartanRace/
This started with my son teaching phys ed to the high school boys at their boarding school. He volunteered to take any of his boys who wanted to go to this obstacle course. It guess the idea has grown since I talked to him about it this fall.
Brian, I'll send a donation along. Always wonderful to give support to well-formed seminarians, especially when one of them is Frater Sylvan! O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Brian, Thank you for letting us know. I made a contribution today and I will pray for their success! This is wonderful!!! Plus, I could use their prayers...
According to the USCCB website, “World Day of Prayer will be observed on Sunday, April 25, 2021 also known as "Good Shepherd Sunday." The purpose of this day is to publicly fulfill the Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2).” If you would be so kind, please include my oldest son Mike (frater Silvan) in your prayers today too. As many of you know, he is now a seminarian studying to be a Norbertine priest with St. Michael’s Norbertine Abbey in Silverado CA.
I am a bit late, but prayers today and tonight. I feel so sorry for priests at the moment, they are in very choppy waters indeed.
I don't want to sound boastful, but I do have two priestly sons: Benjamin was ordained in December, 2014, and serves in Irving, TX. Patrick was ordained in May, 2019, and serves in the Atlanta, GA area. If you are kind enough to pray for one, please pray for the other also. Thank you! I love the picture of you and Fra Silvan, Brian!
Mario, You wouldn’t happen to be Scott Hahn posing as Mario? Lol... Doesn’t he have 2 sons as well, that are studying to become priests? You must have been an exceptionally, wonderful father! I will pray for your sons. I will also pray for all the other Catholic fathers out there in the world, that they can instill in their children great Catholic and spiritual values that will lead them to become wonderful Priests, Deacons and Nuns as you have been remarkably able to accomplish with your sons.
