Today is Saint Charbel's Feast Day. I heard that 26-28 thousand miracles have been attributed to his intercession. Saint Charbel, please come to the aid of Allyd (and Miker). I will thank him ahead of time, I hear that puts him on the spot.
Offered up Mass this morning , the response to the Psalm was, 'Those who are sowing in tears will sing when they reao' Which I take to be a good sign. The Feast of St Jame's, one of my great favourites, a man who took no nonsense, strong and Godly
I will offer up Mass and Holy Communion this morning as well as make a small sacrifice for your intentions Allyd. Praying for you
Yes, djm, it arrived a number of years ago from Lebanon months after I wrote to the Maronites in Italy. A good article on Mystics of The Church website gives the contact: here is what happened with me. FranJune 23, 2014 at 10:22 AM Who ever wishes to get a relic of Saint Charbel can right directly to Rome where the Maronite Brothers have a home. They will send a little tube with some blessed oil of Saint Charbel and a Relic, plus photos and medals, books and what ever. They don't ask for money but a free offer is always welcomed. This is the Address: Casa di San Charbel P.za Nicoloso da Recco, 5 00154 Roma Italy January 19, 2015 at 1:48 AM Last year I sent $100 U.S. to the Maronite Brothers in Rome asking for a relic of St Charbel Maklouf and received nothing. Any suggestions? Glenn DallaireJanuary 19, 2015 at 9:32 AM Hi Joe, I myself had this happen once when I requested a relic from a convent in Italy (not the Maronites). I am not sure if they never received my request, or if they sent the relic and I did not receive it. International mail can be "iffy" at times. I would suggest that you write to them explaining the situation---it is likely that they will be happy to resolve the matter by sending you (another) one. May God bless you and your loved ones, Glenn Dallaire January 19, 2015 at 1:55 PM Thanks Glenn, I will try that. Joe Reply I lent the relic to our school for his feast day and they were delighted at the stories of his life on earth and his body after his soul had passed on.
When I wrote asking for a relic I explained that the money I sent was a donation to the Maronites and not a purchase for a relic. When they wrote back they said no money had been received.
Thank you for this information! I also love the website Mystics of the Church. So many wonderful saints.
Thank you all for your prayer! However I need them more than ever right now! Things are coming to a head and I am very scared. This is not going to end well. I do nothing but pray the entire day but I have no peace. Jesus help me!!!
Praying that the Lord extends to you the peace that surpasses all understanding, and answers your prayers according to His holy and perfect will. Amen!
Praying for you and your family. I hope you find peace soon & comforted by Lord from all your heavy crosses. Wait for Him! (Ps:27)
Praying now and offering up Mass tomorrow and during the week. I wish it could be more. But what is more than prayer really? Perhaps nothing proves us Christian more than we pray for one another.
I have found recently great help in peace by praying to Our Lady. I just kept praying continually when things seemed bad. 'Beneath thy mantle'. 'At thy feet'. ..and 'Oh Mary Conceived without sin pray for us who have recourse to thee'. It really, really helped though I felt I was holding onto a lighthouse by my very teeth in storm. I find a temptation to ask God to fix things so they will all go away. But I often find when it comes down to it I am the one who needs fixed myself first. This rather than the bad situation I find myself in. There was a hymn we used to sing in the Corsillio years ago which I find very comforting in the bad times. 'This too will pass...'
