Are you sure? Was the original nicknaming tape-recorded? [The current SG of the Jesuits has asserted that the words of Our Lord cannot be known because nobody tape-recorded Him. He believes that one cannot receive doctrine, but that everybody must find God for himself. In effect, one's neighbour is worthless and solipsism triumphs over objective reality. These are the kind of madmen who have got their hands on the levers of power in today's Church].
I am so saddened to hear this news and I pray that God will deign to allow Pope Emeritus Benedict to remain with us for a while longer, but if this is not God's will but He must take him now, then Gods will be done. Lord have Mercy on us, especially when this great Pope is no longer with us. Amen I believe once Pope Emeritus Benedict is no longer with us, then an unleashing of evil may fall swiftly upon the Church and the world. Your thoughts AED truly echo my own in regards to Pope Benedict being the restrainer. About 4 years ago I believe the Lord revealed to me, the role of Pope Emeritus Benedict. On April 13 this year I posted my reply to Heavenly Hosts in the thread "The Third Secret of Fatima" regarding this very concern. I have pasted it below... Heavenly I want so much to agree with you. I love Bishop Athanasius Schneider and put my trust in his word and views as he is such a good Catholic Bishop and I wish our diocese had a bishop like him. May God continue to protect and bless him. Amen. However, the horrendous thing is, I oscillate...... between believing that Pope Francis is our legitimately elected pope, to believing that this is possibly not the case and that Pope Emeritus Benedict is still the Pope. It is a personal dilemma. This oscillation is something I frankly deplore about myself and as I don't suffer this oscillation with other areas or circumstances in my life, it is a pain I wish I did not have, I find myself asking God to remove this unsure/questioning/curiosity regarding the leader of my most precious gift! my faith! I believe this oscillation may have something to do with what the Lord revealed to me about 3 years ago; The Lord revealed to me that Pope Benedict is the restrainer, spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 6And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way. Personally the above knowledge, doesn't make much sense, so since that time, I have tried to work out why and how Pope Emeritus Benedict may be the restrainer? and what this may mean for us? I still don't understand. Since that time, I not only pray for our Holy Father, Pope Francis but also for Pope Emeritus Benedict. I ask the holy angels to watch over Pope Emeritus Benedict in a particular way. I suppose I am hoping to get some sort of clarification regarding the meaning of the restrainer. I find the information in the above video with Father Gruner and Father Kramer, extremely interesting, especially as I have been unaware of this information. May God continue to protect our Dear Pope Emeritus Benedict and lead him and all of us to the safety of the shores of our heavenly home. Amen josephite, Apr 13, 2022EditDeleteReport #160+ QuoteReply
So many of us feel the same, we all know in our hearts that he is a "Restrainer". I agree, it is frightening to think about what lies ahead. I pray that St.Joseph will accompany him in his final hours. +
I do not know what impact will ensue, but I believe a "last testament" by the Pope Emeritus is to be made public at the time of his death. Perhaps that will shed some light on our distressing times. But then, I do not know who would have the authority to publish or release it?
Archbishop Ganswein is his caretaker. I think I heard today that PE Benedict is no longer able to stand and celebrate Mass and that he concelebrates Mass with Archbishop Ganswein. I heard this while not paying much attention.
I feel as if Benedict XVI was a part of John Paul II who still lives among us, not only because of the beautiful friendship and theological closeness between them but also because Cardinal Ratzinger transcribed many of the thoughts of Saint John Paul II when the Holy Father was unable to write due to Parkinson's disease.
If/when Benedict does pass, this is the image in my mind of one of the many greetings he will receive.
Luan, I think that this is possible but isn’t it mainly laypeople who have questioned PEB’s resignation? Aside from maybe Archbishop Vigano? How do you see this happening?
Agree! Didn't St Pius 10 refer to a vision of seeing a Pope with his name fleeing over the bodies of dead clerics? He said the pope he saw bore his name. Pius X was named Joseph.
Continuing to pray for Benedict.. latest update https://www.ncregister.com/blog/ben..._in_these_difficult_hours&utm_term=2022-12-29
'Dead' carries a second connotation in the Gospels. When Christ referred to those who are dead, He usually meant those who were estranged from God. There appear to be a lot of clerics in the Vatican, both now and at the times preceding and during Benedict's resignation, who would fit that bill. Thanks be to God for Cardinal Muller, who, as described in Padraig's post above, continues to lead the charge for the defense of all things Christian. May the living bury the dead.
I never thought Pope Benedict was the Pope referred to in Fatima. Pope Saint John Paul thought it was himself but it wasn't either. Nor is it Pope Francis. It is a future Pope. When Pope Benedict, who knew more about Fatima than just about anyone, visited Fatima he said that the Secret of Fatima is not done with yet, he was, of course right, it isn't. https://onepeterfive.com/on-fatima-story-pope-emeritus-benedict-xvi-breaks-silence/
Padraig, idk the puzzle pieces seem to fit together almost amazingly. I think that if Dr. Von Hildebrand is correct it seems like we are there right now and it would also explain why the Church would never expose the whole text of the 3rd secret to the public.
I believe there will be a growing movement among the laity in that direction, and with regard to the episcopate perhaps many bishops will join that movement if the next synod brings radical changes in doctrine or if the last testament of Benedict XVI makes some explicit statement that the resignation was invalid .
I agree Carol. Also, I would like to suggest that we should be careful in taking prophetic words from heaven literally. It may be a spiritual meaning, as DeGaulle mentioned.
