In my prayers also. Cardinal Pell Is such a loss for the Universal Church. He was such a strong voice for all of us. I think his passing was carried out by the dark forces. His spirit still lives on.
Prayers for your an your whole family Josephite. Offering up mass and more prayers tomorrow. Cancer rates are jumping skywards all over the world but no one seems to guess why. https://joint-research-centre.ec.eu...cancer-cases-and-deaths-rise-eu-2023-10-02_en
Prayers for your son Jacob and your family Josephite. So many trials, thanking God for the prayer warriors of this forum.
We are buired in funerals at the moment. I live in a rural parish and in the past week we have had 3 deaths from heart attacks. We have had 2 turbo cancers. Diagnosis was in the past few weeks and dead already. One of the heart attacks was in the next parish. A retired priest who was very fit and healthy. His hobby was growing vegetables that he distributed amongst the neighbours. So sad as we are heavily dependent on retired priests now.
Prayers for Jacob's healing, and for your family. I pray that the specialist will see your son soon given his history.
Thank you all so very much, it is edifying to know this. I also thank all the MoG forum members who I know pray for the holy intentions of the MoG forum but rarely comment on such. I know you are there. God bless us all.
so sorry to read about your son. Prayers for him. My daughter is a nurse and also had to get vac. She has preexisting autoimmune disorder so I too am always worried about her future health. I also worry about if it will impact her ability to have children. Prayers as always. Peace
My prayers for you and your daughter, Miker. I pray she remains healthy with nil effects to her reproductive system. Remember God is kind! (kindness is one of Gods greatest attributes!) Also remember Jesus has all manner of things in His hands! He awaits our prayers united to His Sacred Heart to send forth His Blessings. These blessings include a myriad of graces, some of which are... healing acceptance strength surrender courage fortitude long suffering. God knows us personally, He knows what we need and He knows the future. So while He can change the future through our prayer, He sometimes does not do this. We can be left bereft, but God can use even our bereftness for His greater glory! So have no fear. Trust in His Divine Mercy. These same sorrows and sufferings occurred in the lives of many saints and martyrs. May Our Lady keep you Miker and your family always under her protective mantle. I will keep you and your family in my prayers and I thank you for your prayers, may God bless you and your family now and forever. Amen
Thanks for keeping us informed, Brian; especially for my sake, as I have been out of the loop for a week. Praying!
A quick update - I took Father to an appointment for another opinion at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia today. It was a great day, if that’s possible considering the circumstances. I left my home in Virginia at 9:30 this morning, picked up Father in Harrisburg at 11::45, and made it to the hospital at 2:00. He had an appointment with an oncologist and a surgical oncologist. They are taking over his treatment from University of Pittsburgh Medical Centers and I feel he is in much better hands. We finally left the hospital at 6:15 and stopped at a diner in Upper Darby outside Philadelphia on the way back to Harrisburg. I got back to my sister’s in Mechanicsburg outside Harrisburg at 9:45pm, so it’s been a very long day. This was on the wall in the booth where we were seated: For Father it was a walk down memory lane. He grew up several miles away and his grandparents lived just blocks away. He used to come to this diner often during his college years in Philly with his frat brothers, usually at 3:00am on the weekends after the local bars closed. He remembers them having the best snapper soup back then, so both of us ordered some tonight. It was as good as he remembered. He realizes he will not likely survive long enough that his legal battle will ever play out in court, as a trial is at least a year off still, but considers this a blessing. However he’s still going to fight the cancer and the false charges to the end. Spending an entire day with your close friend and spiritual director was for me a tremendous blessing too, obviously. He was able to hear my confession when we first left Harrisburg and the entire day was an extended conversation about his trials and tribulations as well as my own for the last several years, and the serious mental and emotional scars - and blessings - of each of our childhoods and the effects they’ve had on our adult lives and the way we view and interact with the world around us. I realize that many faithful devout Catholics truly desire yet are unable to find a competent spiritual director, let alone be blessed to spend an entire day with them including four hours in a car. I don’t take this for granted. I’m incredibly thankful to Our Good Lord for such an amazing blessing, yet somber at the thought of losing yet another dear friend too soon. Please in your kindness, continue your prayers for Fr. Tony. He has heavy crosses to bear right now, not the least of which is the loneliness that arises from these false accusations and the withdrawal of the fellowship of other former friends as a result of them.
