Your father reminds me of what many of the Saints have said , that the Secret of Holiness is to do ordinary things extraordinarily well. This, I think, is most especially true of married people who are tied down to so many daily duties.
I was thinking again about Christ's shoulder wound last night. About the Mystical significance of it. It seems to me this Wound is where the rubber hits the road , so to speak. In carrying the Cross Jesus bore the weight of all our sins. This, at the shoulder is where it impacted His body and so this is where it hit Him worse. The shoulder. We sometimes say, 'He looks like He has the weight of the World on his shoulders!' In the Way to Calvary it is true that He literally did have the weight of the World on His shoulders.
My da slipped away at 10am this morning. He put up some fight, but in the end Jesus wanted him up there, and so away he went. We were all at his bedside. I was saying the chaplet at the time. I take great comfort in the knowledge that he'll be aware of it. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and prayers.
I am so happy for your father. As Padraig said he did ordinary things with extraordinary grace. He will be praying for all of you now. But I will pray for him today and for all who will miss him so much.
God bless you and your family - I lost my Dad on 30 April and have prayed for his soul every day since. The chaplet is so powerful for the dying so that is a great grace.
Prayers for your dad's soul. My sympathy to you and your family. He was blessed with a happy death, surrounded by love and prayer.
Jack and family, I send my condolences to all of you. Praying that you will be comforted in your grief. My your father’s soul rest in eternal peace.
My deepest sympathy for you and his entire family. He sounds like a lovely man to have known. Would that we had more of his ilk in our world! Eternal rest grant to him oh Lord and Let Your perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through Gods Mercy Rest In Peace.
