Did you know that Prince Phillips mother became a nun and was a Mystic who was supposed to have directly heard the voice of Jesus? So interesting. https://www.independent.co.uk/life-...lip-death-family-princess-alice-a9216746.html
I never threatened to ban you stop being so pompous.. Seriously did you even read what I posted go back read again and chill.. There's no justice in any war just pain you can't stand and salute one side or the other they both did wrong.. So listen its extremely hard for the innocent to pray for their perpetrators not matter what side they come from.. Period
When King George VI died Padre Pio was talking to a group of friends. He suddenly stopped talking and looked into the air and Said. King George has just died and entered the before the Throne of God for Judgement pray for him!' He said this at exactly the time the King passed way. There was no way he could have known this humanly, communications being what they were. Actually King George's physician killed him off, believe it or not, with an injection so that they could make the early morning press, which was much more suitable than later. George died basically from being a heavy smoker, though the morphine jab did not help.
But Jesus asks us to do this... and provides the grace to do so... No one has a monopoly on suffering or hurt... Jesus knew the difficulties in praying for and forgiving those who trespass against us. That’s the reason he taught his followers how to pray what is a daily prayer for most of us. <<I have lost my daughter, and we shall miss her. But I bear no ill will. I bear no grudge. Dirty sort of talk is not going to bring her back to life. I shall pray for those people tonight and every night. May God forgive them.>> Gordon Wilson
Yep that's why I asked Therese in my earlier post to help me.. My posts are intended to show how difficult it is to pray for someone or instatution that has caused so much pain not only in Ireland but around the globe. I won't open the Pandora box of the free Mason but will end with this.. I have only one queen that is our Holy Mother GOD BLESS
In my experience there are at least two strands to true forgiveness. One is a decision (act of the Will) to forgive. The second strand is the healing of the hurt. This can take time because it is so difficult to give the hurt to Jesus while still feeling the hurt and remembering all the associated perpetrators. There will come a time though when God’s grace will allow this healing to happen. One can never measure another’s pain and I can’t measure yours Quis ut Deus, only that it’s very deep and raw for you, especially now. I will remember you in my prayers. BC
(Off Topic) Thanks for posting this, Padraig. All my life I wanted to meet a priest like Padre Pio. I have so many questions about my family's souls and my own!
The most sobering lesson I ever learned about forgiveness was reading that no one is exempt from having to forgive. Even God Almighty has forgiven each and every one of us, otherwise we would have no hope of ever entering Heaven. If forgiveness is good enough for God, it is good enough for us. As Roman Catholics we know the process of humbling ourselves in Confession and Absolution is promised/guaranteed. Like Our Lady said. Do as He tells you. Yes in Heaven this is one certainty we will know. God has humbled Himself and forgiven us, so there is no way we can get to Heaven without forgiving others. But think about it. Jesus was innocent yet He suffered to atone or make amends to God for our betrayals (sins). And from the Cross Jesus said Father forgive them, they know not what they do. From the midst of the tortures on the Cross, Jesus was making excuses to the Father for all of us. To forgive is Divine. In our human weakness we suffer from carrying the pain of the memory of the things that require our forgiveness, and this becomes a cross we can learn to unite with the suffering our sins have caused Jesus. It is not a sin to remember, but we have to use an act of our will to forgive. Even if we have to carry the painful memories to the grave.
As a forum we are all political colours and persuasions. What we all share is a love of the Roman Catholic Faith which generations of British royals tried to eradicate from the land, s St Edmund Campion and the English Martyrs and St Oliver Plunkett pray for us who have recourse to thee
In the end only God can judge. We are born into a family and a culture with particular prejudices which are imbued into us from our earliest years. None of us have a monopoly on hurt so the only way forward is to will to forgive and try and do good to those we consider to be our enemies.
Dear Jesus have mercy on the poor victims of such cruelty! I cannot begin to imagine how deep the wounds go in the hearts of Northern Ireland Catholics.
Go ahead and ask him, Christy. Don't let anything stop you. He might answer you or he might not - at least not in the way you might be expecting. But you should ask.
I have in prayer. Knowing of his famous temper, I asked him to come down from Heaven and give one beloved family member a smack on the head. He hasn't shown up yet.
I'd like to apologise to both Heartbeat and maryrose for any of my comments that caused offence or were rude.. Unfortunately I allowed and old demon to rattle my mind last night and it played a merry tune on my quick temper.. Again apologies for any offence which is totally out of character.. God bless
