Miracle” Name of saint on calendar "The Miracle" will coincide with the celebration of a Holy Martyr related to the Eucharist. The Virgin didn't tell Conchita the day of "The Miracle" will be the day of a Saint. The Virgen told Conchita the exact date of "The Miracle" and Conchita located the date in the calendar set in the kitchen of her house. This is how Conchita found out the name of the Holy Martyr related to the Eucharist. Conchita told Father Luna, "is a saint with a very rare name." http://www.virgendegarabandal.com/conferencia_jose_luisENGLISH.htm
Pope Benedict XVI Pope Benedict knows of Garabandal. Not only has he met Conchita, he has all the papers, testimonies of miracles, etc. performed through the intercession of Our Lady of Garabandal, sent to him by the well known promoter of Our Lady, the late Fr. Francis Benac, S.J. When I spoke to Conchita about meetings in the Vatican, we had a discussion about Pope Benedict. She told me she only met him when he was Cardinal Ratzinger, not as Pope Benedict. A book of Garabandal on Cardinal Ratzinger's desk ! Father François Turner first heard about the events taking place in Garabandal while spending a few days in the Seminary of Tarragona in 1966. Fr. Turner, however, did not immediately believe in the Apparitions. Following an encounter with Fr. Materne Laffineur, pioneer in the dissemination of the Apparitions and Messages of Garabandal throughout France, Fr. Turner decided to read his book “Star on the Mountain.” But this was not enough to satisfy him. Such striking events demanded a closer study. The more Fr. Turner learned, the more he began to believe. Given the numerous doubts that often arise regarding Garabandal, he undertook a very rigorous study originally comprised of only a few proofs but which later grew to include twenty-four undisputable proofs concerning the authenticity of the apparitions of Garabandal. During this time period, he spent several weeks in the Poitiers Library studying the “spiritual masters,” meticulously applying all of their rules to the happenings in Garabandal. He came to the conclusion that the events of Garabandal are authentic and of Divine Origin. Father Turner's personal investigations lead him to the great Father Laffineur and the Abbe Alfred Combe, these 3 Priests with Abbe de Bailliencourt have been the first to promote Garanbandal all around the world and until their last breath, "soldiers" of our Lady of Garanbandal, we will never forget you, rest in Peace Fathers. Has Cardinal Ratzinger made any kind of declaration concerning Garabandal? Fr.François Turner : I can’t reply to this question. There are some things that I can respond to, but not that. I don’t think it would be appropriate. What I can say is this: The event of Garabandal is important in his eyes. Mr. Hubier has seen my book [“O Children, Listen to Me”] on Cardinal Ratzinger’s desk, so Ratzinger certainly must have looked for it. He wouldn’t need more than a few minutes to glance at the table of contents to get an idea of what the book is about. People with his type of mentality and his clear intelligence will be able to discern very quickly, in just a few moments, if it’s worth considering or not. POPE BENEDICT XVI :Finished his sermon on May 13, 2010, on Fatima with this quote:" May the seven years which separate us from the centenary of the apparitions (of 1917 at Fatima ) hasten the fulfillment of the prophecy of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, to the glory of the Most High Trinity. "( since the Vatican has been aware of the Miracle date from Conchita, was this an insight to the possible culmination for the Warning & Miracle ? May 13, 2017 ???? )

PADRE PIO LETTER TO THE VISIONARIESOn March 3, 1962, a letter arrived in Garabandal addressed to all four visionaries. It was written in Italian, and had an Italian stamp, but wasn't postmarked. Nor was it signed. By the handwriting, and the style of the letter, it was clear it could have only come from Padre Pio. The letter said: "My Dear Children, "At nine o'clock this morning the Holy Virgin told me to say to you: 'O Blessed young girls of San Sebastian de Garabandal! I promise you that I will be with you until the end of the centuries, and you will be with Me during the end of the world and later, united with Me in the Glory of Paradise.' I am sending you a copy of the Holy Rosary of Fatima, which the Virgin told me to send you. The Rosary was composed by the Virgin and should be propagated for the salvation of sinners and preservation of humanity from the terrible punishments with which the good God is threatening it. I give you only one counsel: PRAY and get others to pray, because the world is at the beginning of perdition. They do not believe in you or in your conversations with the Lady in White. BUT THEY WILL BELIEVE YOU WHEN IT WILL BE TOO LATE" View attachment 1152 FINALLY ! I HAVE FOUND THE PROOF I WAS LOOKING FOR TO VERIFY THIS WAS FROM PADRE PIO ! After a debate on this forum as to whether or not this was Padre Pio's letter because it was not signed, I have found the proof in the book " SHE CAME IN HASTE TO THE MOUNTAIN " pages 363-365. I was told from friends in Spain that the letter was not signed so that Padre Pio would not be in opposition to the church, so how come so many people were sure it was from him ? These pages tell how Conchita asked the Blessed Mother herself in one of her visits, and she confirmed it was from Padre Pio ! Scroll down on this link to the book, and go to the bottom of page 363 and the story starts there, and ends on the bottom of 365. http://www.garabandal.us/pdfs/she_wenthaste.pdf Q. Conchita, do you remember anything about the letter that you are said to have received from Padre Pio? A. You know that I have moments in which I remember many things about the apparitions very well, and I have moments in which I hardly remember anything at all . . . Concerning what you now ask me, I do remember that I received in the mail a letter addressed to me and the other three girls: Jacinta, Mari Loli and Mari Cruz. I was surprised by what it said; and as it was unsigned, I kept it in my pocket until the time of the apparition. When the Blessed Mother appeared, I showed her the letter . . . and I asked her whom it was from. The Blessed Mother answered that it came from Padre Pio. At the time I didn’t know who Padre Pio was and it didn’t occur to me to ask her anything more . . .
From a tape recording on September 4, 1962, the Blessed Mother tells Conchita , there will be a Miracle in Garabandal, Mary will be there, and it will be a long time from then ! April 2007, Joey Lomangino, received from Conchita a letter, dated 12 February 2007, she had herself received from Archbishop Carlos Sierra of Oviedo, then the acting Apostolic Administrator for the Diocese of Santander, which read: “I want you to know that I am open to receiving and considering all information about Garabandal, and would like to continue—as long as our Holy Father wishes me to serve as Apostolic Administrator—the work that my brothers at the Bishopric have already done in reference to this subject. What I have just done is authorize the priests to go to Garabandal and hold Holy Mass at the Parish, at any desired time, and to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to anyone that wishes to receive it. I am sure the next Bishop will promote further studies to examine in depth the Garabandal events and will send the findings to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome. I respect apparitions and have known of authentic conversions. How can we not always feel the need to open our heart to our Mother Mary to tell her that we need her protection, her help, her courage, her hope, her faith and her love when faced with these events! I encourage you to keep maintaining such devotion toward our Mother”. http://www.garabandal.us/new-york-center-update-may-25-2007-2/
I wanted to make known the answer to a question I was asked privately. Someone had asked if they were wearing the "kissed missal" medal, why they did not receive a physical miracle they were hoping for. Here's your answer: Mary's promise of those who wear the medals, (which people seem to forget about) , has 2 sentences (not just the first one ). Our Lady said, “Through the kiss I bestow on these objects, my Son will perform prodigies. Distribute them to others.” “Those who wear them with faith and devotion will do their purgatory on earth.” View attachment 1482
I was meditating on the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary and thinking how much like Simeon is Joey Lomangino. I was wondering if Simeon was told he would see the messiah as a young man and had to wait so long and patiently. Glenn, has Joey ever felt a connection with Simeon in the Presentation at the Temple?
Daniel , I don't know ,but I will see him for the holidays, I'll ask him. The added anticipation for Joey is also to see his wife, sons, ,family,& friends too !
Thanks, Glenn...I appreciate you letting see a little of Joey's sense of humor in the stories you relate as well. Hopefully he will see all of his loved ones soon.
Today's mass reading reminded me of Garabandal. Isaiah 35: 1 - 6, 10 The desert and the parched land will exult; the steppe will rejoice and bloom. They will bloom with abundant flowers, and rejoice with joyful song. The glory of Lebanon will be given to them, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God. Strengthen the hands that are feeble, make firm the knees that are weak, say to those whose hearts are frightened: Be strong, fear not! Here is your God, he comes with vindication; with divine recompense he comes to save you. Then will the eyes of the blind be opened, the ears of the deaf be cleared; then will the lame leap like a stag, then the tongue of the mute will sing. Those whom the LORD has ransomed will return and enter Zion singing, crowned with everlasting joy; they will meet with joy and gladness, sorrow and mourning will flee. I am not making any assumptions about the warning or miracle, just saying I thought of Garabandal when I read those highlighted lines.
Today finally with the help of friends Denise Vattelana Parlacoski and Barry Hanratty, (and hours of personal research reading ), I can present some facts as to why the Chancery of Cosio would NEVER approve the apparitions, regardless of how many witnesses came forward and what they themselves witnessed ! Consider the comments of the long-serving parish priest at Garabandal, Fr Valentin Marichalar, who witnessed literally hundreds of apparitions. It is inconceivable that the one person who could speak most authoritatively to the matter would not be questioned by either the local bishop at the time (Doroteo Fernandez), or the commission he established to investigate the matter! HE WAS NEVER INTEROGATED. Yet, this is exactly what happened. In a 1976 interview with Needles magazine, Fr. Marichalar remarked that the commission wanted only to get the job over with quickly, and that virtually nothing was done in accordance with proper custom. READ HIS SHOCKING INTERVIEW Fr. Marichalar Speaks http://www.garabandal.us/category/new-york-center-archive/page/4/ Fr.Valentin Marichalar removed ! In the first month of the apparitions occurring Msgr Valentin Marichalar was removed after 30 years and put on sabbatical and a younger priest Fr. Amador Fernandez Gonzalez was assigned ...the younger priest was asked by the villagers what was it that the bishop needed to approve these apparitions and the younger newly assigned priest from the bishops office said "nothing it's never going to be approved" The priest who had replaced Don Valentin was present at that ecstasy and Conchita was heard telling the Virgin, “A new priest has arrived to relieve Father Valentin.” She then preceded to remove the priest’s glasses so she could make the sign of the cross over him.. From his first day in Garabandal, this priest received plenty of proofs. According to what I was told, when Don Valentin came back to the village and his replacement returned to his destination, the Bishop said to him, “I sent you to prove that the apparitions were false, and you come back more convinced of their truth than the girls themselves.” http://www.stjosephpublications.com/ (Manuscripts of Fr. Valetin Marichalar ) When Fr. Valentin Marichalar was replaced as parish priest at Cosio, the Chancery sent a young priest with instructions to be over-prudent, an attitude that required a certain predisposition against the supernatural character of these events. The fact is, some maintain that, in a place where apparently miraculous phenomena occur, the ecclesiastical authorities should at first be reluctant to believe in the extraordinary. Hence, an essentially prudent approach is adopted, and I do not feel that this attitude can be the object of criticism. The new parish priest was Fr. Amador Fernandez Gonzalez, a good psychologist. He played his part as the devil's advocate to perfection. Determined to accomplish his task as best he could, he kept a close watch on the children at all times. From the first, he declared that the four girls were not putting over a farce or acting in bad faith, but were suffering from an illness that proved difficult to diagnose. Asked whether the Church would accept the authenticity of the apparitions if an unquestionable, proven miracle were to take place, he did not hesitate to say that the Church would not; because the miracle—so he said—would not prove anything either. "It would be a reward from God for the faith of those who asked for it." Perhaps this is twisting matters round to an extreme and making any reasonable solution impossible. But, it is not for us to judge. The Church has her own doctors. Let us simply say that the four children could not perpetrate a fraud for so many months at a time; that, if the visionaries were suffering from some illness, it would have natural effects, and the intensity and frequency of the raptures would long since have ruined their health; that phenomena which arouse in this way religious fervor, the spirit of faith, and love of God and the Blessed Virgin, cannot possibly proceed from extra-natural sources under the influence of the devil. Hence, it seems likely that there are sound grounds for believing that the cause is neither natural nor preternatural, but shows signs of being supernatural http://www.garabandal.org/BrownBook/BrownBookP144.htm
A story that confirmed for me that those uneducated about Garabandal, and falsely accuse it of having some diabolical or evil origin, are 100% wrong. Here is testimony from a priest, Father Jose Ramon Garcia de la Riva ,who wrote a book on the authenticity of the apparitions, and one story in particular to erase his own fears of any evil presence. http://www.ourlady.ca/info/de%20la%20Riva/delaRiva24.htm
Conchita's dark nights. CONCHITA'S PENANCES WERE NOT limited to simple, exterior acts. She suffered from acute perception, the trial of the "dark night" that St. John of the Cross speaks of. http://www.ourlady.ca/info/de la Riva/delaRiva22.htm
