Just to be clear "Prima Scriptura " is a protestant idea.

If you are a protestant fine. But others should be aware you are leading others into error according to Catholic teaching.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prima_scriptura
The Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation is clear on the total equality of Scripture with Sacred Tradition when it says that "both Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture are to be accepted and venerated with the same sense of loyalty and reverence" because together they "form one sacred deposit of the word of God, committed to the Church."[1] So, in one sense, Scripture has no primacy over Tradition, but an ancient tradition holds that the word of God, though equally authoritative in whichever form it comes, comes primarily in the form of Sacred Scripture, and thus we should seek for Sacred Doctrine primarily in the Scriptures. As Thomas Aquinas said:

...acred doctrine...properly uses the authority of the canonical Scriptures as an incontrovertible proof, and the authority of the doctors of the Church as one that may properly be used, yet merely as probable. For our faith rests upon the revelation made to the apostles and prophets who wrote the canonical books, and not on the revelations (if any such there are) made to other doctors.[2]

I am not Protestant. Are you saying that the canon is not first above other doctrines? Prima scriptura is the Christian doctrine that (canonized scripture) is "first" or "above all" other sources of divine revelation.
So what are you saying , I have it wrong that Canonized scripture is first? Are you saying some other doctrine is before this?

    Christ himself appointed the Apostles.

"He who hears you hears me"

No true seer can reject the authority of the Church.

It is not seers who have held Christianity together all these years but rather the authority given to the Bishops through Apostolic succession.

It is clear you reject the authority of the Church.

Okay. And? Did you hear directly from them or do you have their words which are recorded in the scriptures? Question what came first the chicken or the egg? Who is the knowledge of God first to, the Jew or the Gentile? For you to know sacred tradition, did you read it or did you hear it face to face from the life in blood apostles? Was your Canon developed before the Jews wrote or after?

Yeah, and I am not dealing with a three legged stool but the two legs of Christ . The foundation -His Tradition made known to me through the written word. And the Holy Spirit which is to govern the Church . They are not a house divided. For a house divided cannot stand. Those are the Legs I stand on. Your third, if it denies the sacred tradition handed down to us in scripture, it is harlotry. And that appendage will be cut off! No one lay a foundation that has not already been laid and that foundation is Yeshua /Jesus.

It would seem the lack of humbleness will get certain of the Gentiles cut off. Clearly, I am humble and acknowledge the good the Gentile has brought to the table . But over time not all has remained according to the perfect doctrine taught by the Elect Jew. Quite frankly the lack of humility you show toward God's order is very sad. I will pray for you.
    Romans 11:
    The Salvation of the Gentiles
11 So I ask, have they stumbled so as to fall? By no means! But through their stumbling salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12 Now if their stumbling means riches for the world, and if their defeat means riches for Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!

13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I glorify my ministry 14 in order to make my own people jealous, and thus save some of them. 15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead! 16 If the part of the dough offered as first fruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; and if the root is holy, then the branches also are holy.

17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, were grafted in their place to share the rich root of the olive tree, 18 do not boast over the branches. If you do boast, remember that it is not you that support the root, but the root that supports you. 19 You will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand only through faith. So do not become proud, but stand in awe. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, perhaps he will not spare you. 22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness toward you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off.

  8. This is simple. The Tradition becomes before the writings. In fact that was the Tradition that chose the inspired books among thousands books. What was written was already oral tradition. St Paul said it.

Excuse me.....I believe you would know nothing about sacred tradition to begin with without the Jew putting pen to paper. They being the original source of the sacred tradition that you know about , they are the source of the knowledge of sacred tradition that made you privy to it . nothing more and nothing less. Before the RCC even devised a form of Canon many forms of Canon already existed among different Jewish sects. Your Church simply compiled what they agreed with and passed it along. So as St.Paul said, no one lays a foundation that has not already been laid. And that was laid by the Elect Jew not gentile. No one but the Elect Jew can lay claim to that, period! If you dare argue against that , you deny the very words of the Apostle Paul. As for an oral tradition from the Gentiles, if they contradict the Oral tradition recorded in scripture which comes directly from the root and tree, then as Paul says you are cut off. It is just that simple. Wow! No awe for the truth it would seem. As for Prince of peace , that peace has come first by the Jew .

True humility lies in submitting oneself completely the Church. To Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture and the Magisterium....That is the 3 legged stool.

I am not presenting my own thinking on this mater but rather the Catholic Church's teaching to which I completly submit.

I noticed you said YOUR CHURCH when referring to the Catholic Church....

    So are you not Catholic?

Are you trying to persuade others not to follow what the Catholic Church teaches?

Well I see what kind of Catholics are in here and I truly get the end of the age thing. I am not going to squabble over the obvious teachings of the Tradition of scripture. The only problem there is among certain types is speaking truth.

I am not going to strong arm people into submission to what I know is true. I understand the plan and simple language of the word of God. And I myself will not be bullied by Gentiles who deny the very foundation they claim to serve. May God help you, I choose love . All the hating in the world will not make me a hater toward anyone and most certainly not toward truth.
Shalom, Shulam to all. The Sacred and Immaculate hearts of Yeshua and Miryam will prevail! ISRAEL! God will prevail!

You are on a Roman Catholic forum.
“Strong arm people into submission?” There is no hate here. You are making that up.

That is your choice . I choose pure obedience to Christ .
The cart does not lead the horse. Let the bride be a virgin and follow Christ FIRST and always.
    2 Corinthians 11:2-
    Paul and the False Apostles
…2I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. For I promised you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. 3I am afraid, however, that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may be led astray from your simple and pure devotion to Christ. 4For if someone comes and proclaims a Jesus other than the One we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the One you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it way too easily.…
    God Bless!

So I am. Speaking from the ORIGINAL TREE the Hebrew doctrine. I might tremble if you were the Root and original tree, but since you are simply a grafted in branch I concern myself not with your lack of respect for Christianity. Take Care.

Sorry luv, you come across as an impertinent little hussey to me. If you happen to be male, don't read on...enough said.

I am just a little nobody Irish cradle Catholic.
If you want to learn something truly inspiring about our Jewish roots and the fulfilment of the promise of G_D in Christ Jesus. Try listening to Roy Schoeman, a real educated Jew who became a Roman Catholic after encountering the Blessed Virgin Mary. You might learn what a real Catholic Christian is. I think a bit of humility might go a long way, and an improvement in your attitude towards how others seek to find a path by The Way, The Truth and The Life. Peace.

Hmm? So let me see if I understand all of you so far. I am wrong for believing the written word is the foundation which all else must be built upon and follow after. I believe that the scriptures are how anyone even knows about the oral tradition. I believe in the truths Catholics have brought to the table. I believe that no Gentile assembly is the original root or branch, because the Apostle Paul said so. I am called a protestant because I do not necessarily share your exact same sentiments. So any disagreement will get me labeled as protestant? Yet throughout your history, those you uphold as saints have disagreed with one another on doctrines, here and there. I am called a hussey for what?

If what you do and say is the image of Christianity, then it is truly reverse day. And up is actually down and down is up. Back is front and front back. And kindness is actually cruelty. As for Roy , it would seem that as long as he is 100% party to what you ascribe to then you will be kind. Well, then it would seem you break a very important law, " love your neighbor as yourself". And since I disagree with some things you all ascribe to, none of which are the essentials of the faith, simply certain actions of certain men, I should be attacked verbally and called names?

Did you all learn those actions through your devotion to the Sacred and Immaculate hearts of Yeshua and Miryam? Now, lastly if the math does not add up I do not have to accept your sum.

    Romans 15:
    Accept One Another
…2Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. 3For even Christ did not please Himself, but as it is written: “The insults of those who insult You have fallen on Me.” 4For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.…

So because you seek to satisfy your own appetites you call me names. you do this because I believe everything that is written in the past is written for my instruction . I am attacked because I believe in the encouragement of the scriptures and because I believe that Christ leads the church , not the church leads Christ? Hmm? and I am the hussey?

A hussy is a woman or girl who's disrespectful or immoral. Your old fashioned grandmother might call your brother's live-in girlfriend a hussy. The noun hussy is an insulting and somewhat antique way to refer to a woman whose actions don't line up with traditional ideas of being respectable.

I line up with the sacred teachings of the scriptures that the church must be built upon and I am called a hussey? Interesting indeed!

So now sweet lady, Julia, a daughter after her own mother's heart , show me where my disrespect is and immoral behavior? Do so with the original root and tree . As long as I have not spoken against the word of God , I can have no fault. So according to the scriptures (the Sacred Tradition you received by compiling, not writing) how am I a hussey a disrespectful immoral person?

    John 13:35
    Love One Another
…34A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

It would seem that words in proper application bother you ? i do not follow John smith. I simply believe that scripture is sacred tradition. And actually Prima scriptura simply means (scripture first). Do not get tied up in the wrongly applied words of smith. If I said scripture first would you argue against that? I am just curious and I am willing to learn , did I misuse scripture first in some way? And all I would like to know is, is scripture first before all other doctrines? And since Thoma Aquinas was way before John Smith who you assumed I am for , would he argue that scripture is before any other doctrine? I never said scripture has primacy of Tradition , I said it is Tradition , where we get our traditions. May I ask,, how is any Christian tradition known? How about this , let's start over. I will ask all the questions and you teach. I am 100%fine with that.

Question 1. if the traditions of a church contradict the teachings laid down in the foundation is the church in folly?

Okay just curious, how do we know about sacred tradition?
Sacred tradition is a theological term used in the major Christian traditions, primarily those claiming apostolic succession, such as the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Assyrian, and Anglican traditions, to refer to the foundation of the doctrinal and spiritual authority of Christianity and of the Bible ...
Doctrine is a codification of beliefs or a body of teachings or instructions, taught principles or positions, as the essence of teachings in a given branch of knowledge or in a belief system.

As I said I am open, what did I say wrong that any should label me this or that? I came to Christ through the Catholic Church. I have no problem with any truth of the Catholic church. I fellowship with all to see where they are coming from. I look at everything that has arisen in history concerning Christianity and I sift through all the doctrines out there. I believe I said the RCC holds the most truth in my intro. I just like to throw titles and around and words that in and of themselves are good but are simply maligned by satan. Scripture first no matter what language it is pronounced in, is first and above all other doctrine which follow, no?

    Shalom, Shulam!
