HEADACHES!

Discussion in 'Welcome to New Members' started by Advocata Nostra, Feb 18, 2021.

  1. Good morning.

I am asking for prayers. Since 2014, off and on, and depending on what are the triggers, I have gone through seven cycles of headaches that wake me up after only a few hour’s sleep. Last night I had three attacks. It’s ALWAYS one side (right side) of my head, and if I had to say where, you’d need to look up the occipital nerve and trace its pathways. Not because it’s been diagnosed as such, but because it visually matches the pain pathway. Sometimes it’s severe and other times milder. I never went to the doctor because it would always go away after a few months, and then be gone for a year or so.

It’s NOT the pillow I use, because changing one never coincided with an attack and I’ve slept on my latest one with never an issue until I got Covid back in January. The headaches immediately came on with the virus’ other symptoms. I believe this bout has been triggered by sinus inflammation (note- this is NOT a sinus headache, as I have been no stranger to those in the past). It is also not a migraine nor trigeminal nor tension headache, since markers that would indicate those are never present. Besides this latest trigger, it had, in the past, also come about from sudden movement such as a particular chiropractic adjustment, a physical therapy exercise, etc. So, there is definitely a mechanical possibility.

Last year, I had a (rather painful) whole body nerve impulse test and an ultrasound of my neck and skull. That came back normal and there was nothing seen or heard blocking blood flow around the brain.

I’ve tried everything to tackle this, as you can imagine: pain relievers, supplements including caffeine, melatonin (very minute amount way below a ml), lithium orotate, antihistamines, nasal sprays. Even whiskey or bourbon as a nightcap doesn’t help. The only think that helps is a heat compress applied to my neck, ear and the right side/top of my head.

So, I think the time has come to get this issue into the mind and hearts of a larger group of prayerful souls for intercession. I have been reluctant up until now for several reasons. One is that I know God is allowing this for me as a way to offer something up of significance for the salvation of others (Note: I do not remember asking the Good Lord for this). But, at the same time, if He wants this to be gone through others’ intercessory prayers, then I AM READY!

    In joyful hope of relief!
    Peace!
    ~AN

I belong to an epidermoid brain cyst/tumor group and we have headaches. For some reason, Claritin seems to help us. You can take it long term with no effects, make sure it is the non drowsy kind. It was recommended by my neurologist. Also in the winter use a humidifier, if it gets too dry that will give you headaches.

Hi, Katfalls. I wonder about the Claritin. I take Claritin or its prescription cousin Clarinex. BOTH are non drowsy. Are you referring to Claritin-D which has an added decongestant? I don’t take that one due to blood pressure but I know Claritin is non drowsy in its original formula. Can you please clarify the Claritin:LOL:?

Could it be your bite that’s off? Sounds like my headaches. I went to an orthodontist and put on braces to fix my bite. My headaches on the right side have gone. I was diagnosed with TMJ. Will be praying for you.

I have no idea whatsoever what it is, only that you are suffering. Praying for you now walking along the River Lagan with the dogs, meditating on the Crown of Thorns.

Whatever you do don't try to Diagnose yourself with Google, you'll end up throwing yourself out the window in Despair.

    Praying now.

I've always found prayer the best remedy.

I was just wondering if you may have had any teeth movement on the side you are experiencing the headache.

I pray that the healing power of God flow through you and heal you in Jesus name.

    Psalm 103
    Of David.
    1 Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

I was doing research on mucous cysts today because of the one in my mouth that won't go away, and I saw you can get them in your sinuses. I assume you've been checked for that? Have you gone to an ENT to get your sinuses thoroughly looked at?

I will certainly pray for you. Recurring health issues can be so emotionally-draining.

  13. My husband’s at the pharmacy now—thank you, I’ll give Claritan a try for this! But I’ll definitely take it a few hours prior to bedtime as I’ve tried it in the past for seasonal allergies and, for me, it is mildly sedating even in its non drowsy form.

  15. Back a million years ago when I was living a stressed lifestyle, I had bout with TMG.( I know what that feels like, for sure!) Had a night guard or two from the dentist. But this is absolutely different in so many ways. And , actually, the Blessed Mother’s Rosary literally pulled me out from being under that! Haven’t had that since, thank God!

  16. And thank you for your prayers!

  17. I truly believe that I have less stress now in my life than ever due to God’s many graces helping me to let go of more and more. I don’t know. Maybe that’s why I’ve been given this?

  18. Very touching video. Thank you! I’ve never heard this melody with those lyrics before. And I am also grateful for your prayers. I imagined myself being brought along for the walk by the river through the prayer intentions you offered there in my behalf.

  20. Went thru them (scans) on sinuses a LONG time ago. No, I haven’t been recently checked. Back then, they were calling for surgery but the cause was my exposure to mold in an musty building it was necessary for me to frequent in the past. When I no longer went there, my symptoms subsided. I would have had unnecessary surgery!

BUT... I will research the cysts. Thank you for your info and your prayers!
