Nunc dimittis servum tuum, Domine, secundum verbum tuum in pace:
Quia viderunt oculi mei salutare tuum
Quod parasti ante faciem omnium populorum:
Lumen ad revelationem gentium, et gloriam plebis tuae Israel.

Now, Master, you let your servant go in peace. You have fulfilled your promise.
My own eyes have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared in the sight of all peoples.
A light to bring the Gentiles from darkness; the glory of your people Israel.

Those are the words spoken by Simeon, at 'the presentation in the temple...' recalled in the fourth joyful mystery of the rosary.
Conversely however, this also is tied into the first sorrow of Mary, 'the prophecy of Simeon...' in the first sorrow of the 7 sorrows rosary.
I've been saying it everyday for 10, maybe 12 years or so. It has changed my life. And I highly recommend it to everyone. It comes with a set of promises obtained by Our Lady (for those that recite it daily - reciting it is an absolute no-brainer, you'd be crazy not to!), these promises are confirmed by Our Lord - in fact he added more promises to them.
    Among these,
"I will bring peace to their families."
"I will console them in their pains and comfort them in their work.
"I will give them as much as they ask for as long as it does not oppose the adorable will of my divine Son or the sanctification of their souls.
"I will defend them in their spiritual battles with the infernal enemy and I will protect them at every instant of their lives."
"I will visibly help them at the moment of their death-- they will see the face of their mother."
"I have obtained this grace from my divine Son, that those who propagate this devotion to my tears and dolors will be taken directly from this earthly life to eternal happiness, since all their sins will be forgiven and my Son will be their eternal consolation and joy."

I just can't recommend it enough...

Jack, I've been meaning to than you for recommending the Seven Sorrows Rosary. We recently had a crisis in our family when all seemed hopeless. I prayed the Rosary of the Seven Sorrows and the answer to my prayer was nothing short of miraculous. A million, million thanks to Our Lady for her intercession, to the Divine Physician for answering my prayer and to you for promoting this devotion.

Wow. Excellent endorsement for this devotion. I am haphazard with it. I mean to do better. Much much better.

Awe Maria, I'm delighted... Absolutely delighted. Especially after what you did for me.
I think the key is preservence in praying it, too.
I only thought I got graces from it years ago. But they just keep on coming! Like, me da was supposed to die of lung cancer 6 months after diagnosis. I couldn't, at the time, have handled his death. Our Lady gave him a full 5 years on top of the 6 months. When he passed, I was as ready as I was ever going to be. And although it was a tough time, I got through it. That is but one example of how She keeps Her promises. Just one. There are a multitude more. The graces never stop. Even tho I often apologize to Herself for not reciting it as well as I might.
I always ask too, why She choose to give me the grace to persevere in it, especially when there are so many good, decent, better people that She could have selected.
    I am eternally grateful.
To anyone, everyone, experiencing any kind of familial issues: the 7 sorrows rosary is the solution. No question. It is the answer.

Not nearly as delighted, Jack, as was I when my prayers were answered. Death was staring my relative in the face. Everyone, even the doctors, had written him off. He rallied, transferred to a different hospital where he had some very serious, rare operations with not huge hope of recovery and he's on the mend now. The ungrateful whelp "found religion" when he was at death's door and now is slipping back into his old ways. I could redden his ear for him but I'm grateful he's alive.
