this is the real tomb of Martin Busca. the legend says he was a spaniard who came to Valparaiso. he worked in the docks and was very poor, so he sold his soul to the devil to be rich, with the condition ,he would give his soul when "his body touches the earth" When he was alive he was a benefactor to the poor. To avoid his body ever touching earth, he built a marble mausoleum, and its anti-sysmical (Chile has a lot of earthquakes) and has stayed intact for decades. there are 4 feline-style legs carved, which maintain the tomb above ground. The tomb of martin is still frequented by people who ask for favours.
I'm sure we will be shocked [if that can happen in heaven] at some of the people we will meet in the next. The 'Good Thief' was the first. Maria Simma speaks of a sinful young man who died giving his life to save others. She (or another) spoke of a woman who died during her abortion procedure but expressed her sorrow to God with "at least I can no longer sina gainst you". Valentina saw the adamant atheist Stephen Hawkins in purgatory (in the 'deepest pit!). [Read 28 Oct 2018] This suggests that very many people prayed for him and he received the grace of repentance in the end. God is infinitely just but infinitely loving. He created no human intending for him/her to go to hell. Hell is NOT empty but I believe the Church does not define anyone as going there. Martin Busca reminds me of the story of Magdalena of the Cross, a posessed nun, pretend mystic, who repented in the end. Pray for sinners!
Jesus told the good thief that he would be in paradise. By implication the bad thief was therefore not saved. But only God knows.
