A friend of mine advised me that I should look into making YouTube videos and podcasts. While it'll be awhile to get the equipment and everything, I do plan on doing those things.

So what is your advice for starting a podcast?

You really don’t need a super amount of stuff to get started. A solid iPhone and some editing software could get you off and running until you build a fan base. What is important is your niche and what makes you stand out from the crowd. If you want to take it more professional, Screenshot (9).png Screenshot (10).png there are a thousand ways to go from just using an iPhone to building a full-fledged studio podcast. I have a registered digital media company with an EIN, that I freelance out of my apartment. I could point you in the right direction. You will need a Feed to upload to Spotify google and every other competitor, and there are various apps that will allow you to record edit and broadcast for free. YouTube is simpler but more competitive. As far as monetization and growth that is a whole different animal.

Thanks, I'll keep all that in mind; I'll look into it further once, Jesus I trust in you, I reach Chile.

Of course. Anchor is Spotify's podcasting service and I think it's free. It is not bad for getting started. You can record, edit, and upload to a variety of podcasting services. You will need your RSS feed and it's a little complicated, but it's actually pretty good for not having to pay. It is limited in its editing quality, but it's probably where you will want to start if you want to get on the air immediately. The only downside is that you will be entering a large group of podcasters. The better podcasts have a schematic to them, and when you get to your destination, I can walk you through the learning curve. Safe Travels.
