I need advice and recommendations on free-use time checkers (Meaning the computer will be blocked for a time after a given amount of time of use), blockers for specific words, and blockers for any image content -allowing only text-. Im wasting a huge time every day online, random surfing, satisfying curiosity and such childish affairs, beyond the point of healthy study of sciences. what chrome plug-ins and browser options can I use here?
There really is no special programme to cover what you are asking, they all have their flaws in my 35 year IT experienced opinon the best and most effective way is pasted below.
Yes one of the things I gave up for Lent (and plan not to take up again) is Facebook and web surfing. It’s been very difficult Right now the extra time is being taken up by Lenten Church activities and house work but I hope after Easter to establish a better home prayer life. It’s easier for me to say a Rosary, read Bible passages or do the stations of the cross when I’m at church - much more difficult for me to do at home I do so wish churches were open more often at nighttime than just at Lent. Sometimes I just like to sit with Jesus- even if he is hidden in the tabernacle.
Ananchal, ewtn has devotions on their network. You can access the schedule online. You can also go to comepraytherosary online. You can get apps for your cellphone, or dvds. It boils down to forming a habit. Our Lady will help you. My parish has been locked for years due to problems with vandals, I think. So I’m used to it. You can find a link to Adoration online, live. I usually go to Savior.org.
hello. Update; Im trying to use adblock, time blockers( not yet could i muster it), even trying -at some times- an all-image blockers in Chrome. I also have a bad habit of looking too much for info on pagan religions, sects etc. I used to watch that true crime channel all day( IN? I forgot the name. the one where they gave Criminal Minds and all the CSI series) I have a long way to go -I feel if I overcame this hurdle my life will get x100 better
This is i believe a temptation to curiosity. I have suffered it myself. Our Lady has helped me. As our Mother of Sorrows she has great power in helping us overcome this particular temptation I think.
