I watched this this morning. It would scare you half to death. The Church in Ireland is in a terrible, terrible place. Dying in fact.
A take-over by the Association of Catholic priests in Ireland. The ACP are not ony hererics and apostates - they would make Luther blush.
Humanly speaking the Church in Ireland is lost. Only God can save it. As to places, such as the Old Rite is celebrated and the Faith is still taught they are now actively trying to exterminate these. But Our Lady has promised us she will Triumph. But, sigh, things are going to get lots and lots worse before they get any better. Pope Francis will see to that. But I am trying not to think about him... ..as Padre Pio said , Pray Hope and do not worry , worry will solve nothing. We must leave it all in the Hands of Mary and trust, hope pray and loads of fasting.
Its so sad. Thousands and thousands of the Irish died for the Catholic Faith. Millions Upon millions of the Irish suffered terribly for many centuries on account of keeping the Catholic Faith , most especially the Supremacy of the Pope. In single generation all out the window. Not suffering that extinguished it but wealth. Worst of all fro people who showed great loyalty top the Papacy it is not an Apostate Pope who is leading them as fast as he ever can, down the fiery road to hell. The little island that spread the Faith through all the World has lost that Faith herself. So tragic.
I attended a parish Mass at 9am yesterday in Galway.its a parish I havnt attend In a long time .we went as my son had a hurling match at an early time.i straight away notice there was 4 "servers" all wearing their casual outdoor clothing,it was nt even good clothing for mass but tracksuits and the like.It was a terrible spectacle. Has anyone come across this
Men and women wearing shorts, t-shirts and flip flops in church. I don't always dress up, but I always look presentable. My wife always, always, always wearing a head covering. She has a beautiful face and IMO the mantilla just enhances her beauty. Sounds a lot like the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. Just a flip side of the same dirty coin.
When the terrible tradgety happened in Creeslough last week the people stood at the scene all evening praying. The church was filled to overflowing for Mass the following morning. Fr John Joe Duffy presided over funerals day after day until all the victims were buried. He did more for the faith in a week than the Vatican has done in 50 years. He is an ordinary parish priest with faith and a loving heart. The whole week demonstrated to me that the embers of the faith are still burning and it is possible for the flame to spring up when the embers are still there. Keep praying for a revival. Don't lose heart.
I agree completely maryrose. What a beautiful story and what a powerful witness of true priesthood that humble priest showed. The fire will yet flame up. Come Holy Spirit come through the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary your well beloved spouse.
