Hi, this text is being shared among some Catholic prayer groups in Ireland - *Catholics needed to defend God's Church from occultists. ---* On Sunday the 29th of January a group of people involved in occult practices, such as shamanism, plan to use the Oratory at St Brigid's shrine in Faughart, Co. Louth. In previous years they gained access to the oratory, stood in front of God's tabernacle and spoke lies about God and His Saints and sang a Hindu chant to shiva, the Hindu god of destruction. *--- Catholics will gather at the oratory at 5pm, Sun 29th for a rosary rally to prevent the occult group from disrespecting God's Church and to pray for their conversion.* Please attend to defend God's honour and St Brigid's. _Psalm 93:16 "Who shall rise up for me against the evildoers? Or who shall stand with me against the workers of iniquity?"_ Hopefully see some of you there,
I guess this event will be another test of the strength of faith in Irish Catholics. It would be great if Catholics filled the whole shrine grounds on the night for the rosary, but I don't have high hopes for even filling a small part of it. The past few years it seems there is no shortage of Catholics willing to complain and discuss all day long about all the problems we face. They are even happy to say pray pray pray all day long (which is of course most important), but should prayer not well up into action? Can prayer not be done while taking action? It is extremely bad that group spoke blasphemies in God's Church, but as we all know it happens in various forms all over the country and the world, but there is very rarely any outcry about most of it and it seems rare for those in the wrong to be called out on it. Many people would rather not create a scene. I think it is awful sad that so many are content with going with the flow and with protecting their own peace but care nothing for the peace of their neighbours who they see walking in darkness. We complain and pray but why are there so few who act beyond their comfort zone. How many reach out to their neighbour and call them to repentance, how fewer still reach out to their whole town and call them to repentance. How many laity and religious who are content to read their books and do their daily routine while the world descends to the depths of darkness around them. Is it not the case that many saints who sought solitude were called back to their towns afterwards with a burning desire to turn the lost back to God? Of course we are not aware of what goes on in every town and there may well be a lot more active people than we think but it seems very rare and as I go about day to day I can't help but agreeing with the thought of Saint Francis Xavier who said " “Again and again I have thought of going round the universities of Europe, especially Paris, and everywhere crying out like a madman, riveting the attention of those with more learning than charity. What a tragedy; how many souls are being shut out of heaven and falling into hell, thanks to you!” We all know chastisement is coming, but why are we not out knocking on doors and standing on street corners warning people. And with this rosary rally, why is it that so many Catholics will not go. I have heard from many saying different excuses, everything from they would rather pray to they have no car. But I don't think St Patrick or the apostles had cars either. They were willing to walk their feet off and literally lay their lives down for God and for saving souls but we would rather have our comfort. Sorry for the little rant, and just to be clear, the rant is aimed just as much at myself as to anyone. I am most definitely guilty of not doing enough for God. I just wish we could all do more. ST FRANCIS XAVIER AND OUR WANING ZEAL FOR SOULS (thehookoffaith.com)
Having attended St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish NS back in the '80's, I can say with confidence that were he to show up there now (or even years & years ago), he would be weeping over the place. Imo, at this point in history, everyone that is aware of the situation, in Ireland and abroad, is doing their best to discern God's will for themselves. Some like yourself are out there now calling attention to the evil surrounding us. Wonderful!! Some are praying, etc. As times get worse, others will visibly join in to help where the Lord calls them. God bless you for your efforts this weekend ~ Be assured of my prayers as well for your success ~
Agree Immaculata. We could all do more--but you are at least trying. You are raising the cry in your own part of the Church. I am praying that it bears fruit. At this point every effort is heroic when up against such massive cultural opposition.
Did anyone see the demonic programme on rte about the "godess brigid "? They are turning saint Bridget's day into a pagan holiday
Throughout the show they never referred to her as saint brigid, only as "brigid ". It was basically a show about paganism.
Saw this article today… related to this. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/worl...taskbar&cvid=4c11a9b1d8a544299747ee85dca8d46c very much … evil co-opting a great Saint. Prayers
Yes there was a small crowd there praying the rosary. The occult group didn't show up. It turns out that they cancelled their event the day before when they heard about the rosary rally. So it was successful in stopping that group. One man drove all the way from Donegal to go, which was great. But it was sad to see so few cared. There is just no fight left in people. The fire of faith is barely alight.
