Would like some feedback on this from Irish Catholics.

I think you've hit the nail on the head here. We need constant reminding of the essentials like this as there are so many distractions coming thick and fast and it's easy to get derailed.

Beautiful! Thank you so much for reminding us, that we should lean on Jesus. We need to get close to Him in order to rise above the chaos. I love Sister Briege too. I was with her just a few weeks ago for a healing mass. She’s remarkable. A true saint. I’ve had so many encounters with God beginning from my First Holy Communion, retreats, as well as, through books, films, etc., but most importantly it was through the example my family gave to me. I grew up with a very religious family, and they read and spoke about the Saints, miracles, and apparitions of Our Lady all the time. So, I was incredibly fortunate. Raising kids in the 60’s was not easy, but our Irish Catholic community was very strong in faith and incredibly united to confront the changes in our Church and society with grace and obedience. Their focus first and foremost was Jesus and the Rosary. I am grateful for having grown up with so much hope. And when the suffering comes, and it always does whether it be a small annoyance or sickness, my consolation is Confession and the Eucharist. The cleansing of the soul helps us to listen to Him more with joy in our hearts.

Very good and inspirational. At this point I have decided to ignore all the shenanigans and focus on my own sanctification. We have seen all the confusion so I'm handing it over to the Lord as it becomes a distraction from what I need to do . I find it upsets me and steals my joy. I have started to reread Story of a Soul. It's so simple and so challenging. I feel it's a time to enter into silence and develop a deeper relationship with God. Everything else is a distraction.

Pope St John Paul famously said that what the Church needed more than anything else is saints.

Picture the soul of the Just as being rather like a Golden Chalice. At first the Good Lord fills it up with Redemptive Grace and then it overflows into Salvific grace to save the whole World.

Well said. And I agree. Terrible distractions.
