I have to reply and can't on the DW thread. Just warning people if you listen to this video it is highly disturbing. Sickening. Horrible. What Luisa Picarretta wrote--her own words--are beyond concerning. If you choose to listen just be warned. I didn't finish listening to this. It was too upsetting.
I have to ask if Daniel OConnor has read these passages? Or anyone else who supports this movement in defiance of the Church's prohibition. God have mercy.

Thank you, AED, for this post as I never would have seen Brian's post on the other thread.

I have never spent much time on DW myself....I have, in the past, prayed the 24 hours of the Passion; that's about it. Having just seen all this I'll be tossing/deleting everything & anything I've saved (I'm always saving stuff "for later") in regard to LP / DW.

Apparently Mr. O'Connor has made a couple of videos in response. A perusal of the comments was enough to see that he is aware.

I feel sick. I know of people who formed a group to study these writings. God help them all.

Desmond A. Birch made a post on his Facebook last month in which he said that one of the reasons that made him disbelieve in Luisa was her teaching that in the last times of the Church here on earth, the Holy Spirit would inspire people to live a sinless obedience to God's will. I personally think this is a revival of the medieval heresies of Catharism and Joachimism, who preached that the hierarchy of the Church was not necessary. In the case of Joaquinism, its adherents predicted the arrival of the era of the Holy Spirit, in which Christians would be full of spiritual gifts and spiritual matugrity, making the hierarchy unnecessary.

This one is new to me. It's interesting (not in a good way) because, at least where I am, there is so much emphasis placed on what they deem to be an "adult faith". There is a great distinction made between a child's faith and an adult faith. Piety and devotions have been classified by some in the hierarchy as "childish". Every time I hear or read something like that I want to ask about the fact that it was said "unless you become as little children........"

Years back, in the month of August, I was one of those who thought that I should give her meditation of the hours (sorry, can't recall exactly now) a try. It was incredibly difficult to get through but I put it down to my sinfulness and tried to plough through anyway. One day, struggling mightily, I shut my eyes to meditate on something which again I cannot recall now. At that moment I hear a voice say to me, Blow the breath of my Mother into the realms.
It was Jesus. And immediately, the feeling that I should do the meditations - dried up. This is significant to me. Whenever something "dries up", it's always a sign it's not meant for me and never will be.
I never went back again to anything concerning her. Even if the Church should in future reverse its decision for whatever reason, I will stay away because Jesus Himself came to me to break me from it.

I think Jesus said this in the sense of recommending the search for two sacraments in a special way: holy baptism, which brings regeneration, and penance. However, I cannot help but notice that the ease that children have in forgiving can be a model for Christians, implicitly referenced in these words of Jesus.

There is a post made by our sister @josephite, in one of the topics about the vaccine, which sums up the heresy of Joachimism well. I can see a link with Luisa's writings in the sense of a false perfection that leads a soul to doubt that it needs constant help from the Church hierarchy.

This is IMHO an impressive signal grace. Direct discernment provided to you by Our Lord Himself! Wow. Very powerful.

I could never get on board with DW. I tried a few times to listen to some talks given by priests and one by Frances Hogan. But it just didn't feel right in my soul. Just "off". I put it down to how complicated it was and how poorly I understood it. I see now it was a grace from God and I am deeply grateful to Him. I had no idea at all of the dark perversity of her diary. I am still in a bit of shock. I can certainly see why the Magisterium has not given consent to this movement over the years.

Fr. Mawdsley explained his reason for creating videos on Luisa Piccarreta:

    Mar 7, 2024
God allows errors to circulate because there are great benefits to be drawn from defeating these. We learn the true sources of pure Catholic doctrine, we hear what the greatest voices in the Church have taught about the glories of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Overcoming error also teaches us humility and gratitude. And it trains us in spotting fake devotions from a healthy distance. Watching any of these videos, it is clear that they are not attacks on Luisa Piccarreta or her confessor, Fr Annibale di Francia, for it seems that these were victims of a subtle abuser (see Video 3).

And for anyone anxious about having been drawn into the DW devotion, there is a sure way to get out: Jesus Christ -- especially in Holy Mass and the Sacraments; in the Scriptures and the Fathers and the Saints; in Church Councils and papal teaching; in the holy Rosary and in approved litanies and the devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary; in the works of mercy; and now in Lent more than ever, in fasting, prayer and giving alms. Walsingham. Guadalupe. Lourdes. Fatima. All these are of God and draw us back to God.

Father Mawdsley is such a compassionate soul, he points out that the LP heresies and blasphemies can be excused as a diabolic influence on a poor vulnerable and innocent soul.
However, I wonder whether this diabolical influence may have caused her to consider herself greater than all other saints.
    This would explain her writings.

I watched D O'Conner's refuting video. He really goes after Fr Mawdsley. Heavy duty. He brushes away concerns about the passages Fr Mawdsley cites. He is in a fury. He uses Padre Pio as one of the justifications but if I remember correctly the monastery at San Giovanni made it very clear that there was absolutely no connection.
A lot of emotion--anger and outrage. This poor man. I hardly know what to make of it.

The tentacles of evil is very subtle and deep. Those who think they are above it can fall into it. Sadly, the denial that they too have fallen into his trap can be vitriol. Much prayer needed.
